Single chop silage cut in cavan in early june 2012
What track machine are you using
Really great video! Is helping me to make the decision to buy. Thanks
Single chop harvester, wast of time to slow 🐌
Lovely to see the single chop working..we had one back in the eighties.
How well does the green chop keep in a trench silo? Here everyone let's it wilt before chopping.
Sturdy chopper there. Twice as strong as stuff here in US. That being said - I'm way happier and wealthier having the cows graze as much grass as possible. When fields are away from cows bringing pasture to the cows is a possibility.
Fine machine have you more videos of it working
I don't really yet. I should get better ones of it running in the next week or two
Looking forward to seeing them have been searching for videos of one for a while .looks to be a good machine is it new or have you used it before
Would it be able for side filling??
@@markgallagher1424 it's new to us. It's a 2018 machine. Very hungry on power
@@jamesoconnor262 it would be but a trailed harvester would be better for that
New to your channel. I like your videos.👍
Thanks 👍
@@hitachilad . thanks for your reply. Something totally different.do you know where I could get a Husqvarna 281 XP?
@@h.m.a.2037 I don't know of any of them. I'm trying to make a deal on a 181se I intend to rebuild and mabe do some port work on if it comes my way. Holzfforma also do a clone of the 288.
Rule No1 of all silage harvesting videos : You must post a country music sound track. You don't hear many rappers extolling the virtues of the 110-90 on the pit, but a lot of country lads like to sing about wrappers..;-)
Love the big Massey,s 🚜😰👍👍👍👍👍
It's gone now. It turned green
+hitachilad 🚜 😭
how many acres do you cut
George Walker only about 28 first cut and anything from 10/20 second
Nice video.😊
thanks. hope to try to make more like it with other lads
Greyabbey video and why do you use a digger to clamp
it's all we have to to do the job.
Looks like there's a loader tractor in next clamp?
Great video lad what's the name of the song
first is Lisa mc Hugh, mean and the second is Derek ryan, waiting on a sunny day
+hitachilad sound job lad 👌🏽👌🏽
good vid subbed! what do you use to edit
I just use windows movie maker. it has enough stuff to do me
... and the moral of the story.. never give a woman the video camera. True story.

Bought a 60inc tarup this year just wondering how do they work in fields with more hills and more corners
Hi I had a tarup 60 ins for a season went back to a 53ins as u could travel faster as better blow and cut as both machine had same number of flakes
If there was no gap, the tailboard would bend when fully tipped
Thats some setup ya have there, proper silage outfit the digger is a tidy job. We would have a similar setup as we to cut with a single chop but with a trauup 54 inch on a 5455 massy only we use a 135 and buckrake on our pit ..... thought we where the only lads left in cavan that cut single chop :P
Crap vid so slow
Hey question, I notice you guys are using an excavator for laying out the silage in the pit/bunker. In California over here I've always seen just big solid blades on large tractors & never seen the spike style before. Is it more benefit to use spikes over the solid blades? Same with excavator over a tractor, just preference of choice?
tell me if im wrong but the buckrake os mainly used for grass and some other crops but some places use blades for things like maize and /or wholecrop And then i just think the digger thing is what this faremer uses most farmer /contractors use tractors . Although the digger way does seem a good way to do it
that silage trailer is a rare bit of kit
7840 tractor?
Can't wait for 2013.!!!
what is the use of the big gap seen in 0:10?
Like a big lawnmower ! :D
a syn on da massey:)
would say tighter tracks are no good to roll
The 2012 vid is up now.
Ya there nice alright.
yip home made sides. just a extry use for the jpm milti purpose trailer. its a good change from the small trailers we had in the last vid i put up
Savage vid subbed!! did u's make the side 4 the trailes yerselves?
More fuel efficient, tighter packed silage - and more fun playing in a 360....Happy days!! Jelous :-(
tasty on the pit
are you fom norway
would you not just buy a double chop is would be so much better ]
i always wondered do cows actually like silage?...do they eat the bits at the edge that go all brown n crusty
fine size of a field yer cuttin in whats the acreage? lovely tidy massey on the jf wouldnt mind havin that outfit myself
Good Country up there.
@JimmysFestival Ballyhaise area
Where abouts in Cavan is this?
@DAF460 machine stays ballanced allot better with the weight closer to it plus with the rake that way i never need to let the tracks touch the concrete so there,s no damage to the base.
wudnt it make more sense to put the buck rake on the other way so it wont damage the machine or buck rake as easily?
Why that big massey and only a single chop?
cause = Cavan
