Fun fact: While "Katakekaumene" does indeed mean "Scorched Earth" in Greek, it is also a term used in Christianity to indicate someone who is about to be baptised. I think this second meaning fits the whole fight even more, considering this is the first time Ultima makes contact with Clive and is trying to check if he is worthy of being Mythos (by using Typhon, which was a failed Mythos). I love this game.

*"Fucking Eikon!"* *"Eikon?! She's not even fully primed!"* I feel like that was an extremely overlooked aspect of Jill as whole. She looks like the weakest Dominant because we barely see her fight and she loses 2 of the 3 fight we see. But if you consider that she was enslaved by the Ironbloods for over 13 years and over half of her body is cursed, she is an absolute _beast._

Ascension for Bahamut is great but there is no way to describe the absolute rush when Titan came back for a Phase 3. Say what you will about Hugo but Titan as a Eikon was actually one tough b@stard.

I like how there are several callbacks to the original Norse mythology in this song. The twain (Archaic word for two) On 10 feet run (Sleipnir has 8 feet and Odin has 2, obviously) Three eyes and one trained upon victory (Sleipnir's 2 and Odin's 1, and Odin is also-among other things- the Norse God of Victory) Foreseen (He sacrificed one of his eyes for the power to see the future) With steel (God of Battle) Darkness comes (He decides when it's your turn to either join him in the Hall of Valor or be cast down to Helheim, a realm of eternal frost & darkness.)

Watching this when not in the moment, I never realized how fucking fast ifrit is. Clive’s like the size of ifrits toe for reference.

so, interesting thing about this song, is that as most who've played know, it's the first time we hear ultima's leitmotif. because of that it's otherworldly and menacing and alien. but, fast forward to the end of the game (*SPOILERS*) and the ultima risen fight, and ultima risen's theme is actually a redux of this theme, "clive's version" and the like. it follows the exact same rhythm and pattern(idk the word i'm not a musical expert), and even has the faint cheering of the crowd like this one does. it's now hopeful and bombastic, and that's because this is the theme for mythos, what clive is to ultima, and the other is the theme for logos, what clive becomes. just found that cool, thanks for coming to the TED talk

I would really have loved a proper ifrit gameplay segment for Odin. the playable cutscenes are cool but ifrit gameplay is so fun and there's so little of it

I like how the music during the whole fight in space sounds almost like a parade. You're fighting a godlike being and there's a parade going on

I love at the part “Step by Step and hand in hand we March on” you can hear the main FF theme
