I love this song
Played this for an exhibition with the community band that’s near me that played for a high school all county band I was apart of. I played the euphonium solo for this piece. The community band is mostly elderly who want to play again. There was only one other euphonium there and he let me have the honor of playing this piece. I thought because he was there longer he would surely play it because of seniority but, I wound up playing it after only joining the band for a week. I was confused why they let me a younger person who hasn’t been playing for that long in the band play the very important solo . I never found out why but I’m grateful that I got too❤. They’re so very nice to me in this band. After the concert I had to go back to my euphonium section in the all county band. They all wondered who played the euphonium solo in this piece so well. I told them that I played it and their reactions were the best! Those were great times.🥰
Playing this as a clarinet is really hard.
Im playing this song at my high school band and im the high hat cymbals baby

For me 1:38 M. 38 vivace P5 (40 measures) 4:12 M. 116 Allegro P16 in 4 for 6/8 (60 in 4) 4:58 M. 166 P22 until the Sostenuto in 2 (7 bars)
Always loved this piece. Played it in High School
Very goated song
This song was lots of fun to play. I had either 2nd or 3rd trumpet. The time signature changes so much that you literally can't keep track of it unless you have the sheet music 😂

4:16 is Mambo Feroz if anyone wants it
Sensacional...
I played this 12 yrs ago in concert band in high school ❤
It's such a beautiful piece. I play clarinet, and getting to play with my section in the statement of the theme is an experience I'll never forget.
Omg me too!!!! My junior year! I’ll never forget! Iowa City High School C/O of 2014

Hi
Wassup
This is good music
Splendid performance of a classic work by the legendary Clifton Williams!!
It's wonderful to hear these recordings and see that my Daddy's music is still appreciated. He died way too young. I hope his music is still relevant. Thank you, From Helen Williams (his youngest daughter).❤
A friend of mine recommended this for a listen. Thanks for the upload! <3
You're welcome! ❤️

I played this piece in high school my junior year. To say it was tricky on 2nd clarinet is BEYOND an understatement. 😅
English horn solo at 2:40 😍😍
this song is acc so peaceful
I love this!❤

This is a computer generated performance.
You're a computer generated human
You can't be serious!
My band director was in close connection with Robert w smith. He came in one day and gave us this piece. I played the solo for euphonium in the beginning. RIP Robert W Smith, I will never forget the time I got to meet you and shake your hand.
Similar story for me, his wife visited our school so we could play this song for her.
The bass line for this song is so hard😂😂 I play the bari sax and it's straight eighth notes throughout the whole song except for when I have the melody😂
Try being a tuba who plays all the cues 😭 misery
@Tacoman542 I actually have most of the tuba cues lol but I also play sousaphone for marching band so either way takes a lot of lung power
Dawg this is easy and I'm playing it
What im saying 😂 @@Kryptopunk2007

Oswego NY All County 2017, I miss you guys so much.
Great song! A great addition to the Christmas spirit!
When you can tell apart a particular recording by whether its piccolos give you tinnitus, you're a band nerd

I want to master this on the flute but it intimidates me a lot 😅
You got this
@@elyxur4726 Thanks!
RIP Robert W. Smith. The world has lost an amazing composer for band. I conducted this piece my very first year of being a band director

Do you know who the recording is originally from?
It's A.I created.
Probably uhh Beetomiagi huhhh
I played the Baritone solo in the very beginning and middle of this song for my high school band/choir concert and was told to pick the speed and tempo and play. I also had two other solos that night in two other songs we played before my final solo in the choir part of the concert! This has been, and always will be, my favorite high school memory and I cherish it and this song because of that night! Thank you Mr. Robert Smith for making such an amazing song And thank you Grand Performer for uploading this wonderful piece of music for me to listen to again! Sincerely, thank you!
Easily one of the composer's best works, and maybe the best recording of this piece I've heard. This is just drenched in emotion. But man, his stuff is not easy to get through.
I miss concert band land 😢
I don't. They tried to change their channel to a bitcoin channel and then lost a ton of subs then got copyrighted
@@ineedakitkat6628 oh… that’s not very smart lol but I still miss practicing with the recording, this was the best one for highschool band last year!
@@joelfred2900 IKR! I played with it too!
Yeah, big shame what happened but that's how it is in this scene where copyright holders refuse to make their recordings readily accessible

I still can't listen to the final variation without getting tears in my eyes.
Cute! I sometimes tear at the middle inverted variation cause I think of an empty playground set longing for a child to use it in a destroyed bombed out city.
@@grandperformer57 I myself think of a warrior trudging forward, struggling to continue the trek up a large mountain.
@@gronkee540And that's the beauty of music, guys. Music is open to interpretation to different people. Different people see different things, and we can take comfort in that. That's why its universal. Its abstract and ambiguous.
Had the pleasure of playing this piece twice: once on mallets sophomore year for my high schools spring concert, and sharing perc 2 for all district this past January.
Genius arrangement
thank you for uploading this again!! i use to listen to this all the time until it was taken down. i was quite sad
