READ THIS IF YOURE NOT GETTING COLOR IN BLENDER 4.2 The reason the video is black and white is because of the new way Blender processes the "crop" node. Open the .blend file, select VHS_FX, right click and click "edit group" (when done don't deselect the elements that were revealed). Go to the chroma section (blue) and find the crop node on the left. Make the crop node (Left: 0, Right:1 , Up: 1, Down: 0), Do the same with "Chroma Crop" then find a "translate" node that's x is defaulted to 21.3 and make it 0 and the problem will be fixed. This was on the video for the original VHS nodetree. It was commented by @JessicaOConnor-jl8kj

Do you know if it's possible to use a video where the background is transparent? so for example I have a video of a logo and the background is transparent, but when I add the vhs effect (the one by bgvc) it adds a background to it instead of keeping it transparent :/

For some reason, in the current version of Blender this doesn't work now, it has problem with the viewer, AND ALSO, when you get the viewer to work, the compositing is totally in Black and White.
