3 Ex-Pastors talk about life post full-time church work
What happens when a person transits out of full time ministry?
Do they go to another church?
What do they do for work?
How does it impact their family?
What goes on internally and how can they process it?
I get 2 friends to come and talk about our experiences. As you can tell, pastors (even ex ones) love to talk ... so you get a 2 hour video.

Feeling Empty After Leaving Church Ministry?
มุมมอง 18Kปีที่แล้ว
Going from a schedule busy with ministry activities to one that is not so loaded with church programs can leave one feeling like there is a huge "disconnect". However, a packed schedule doesn't always mean a full spirit. When we rely on excitement and adrenaline to fuel our passion for God, we can often be left wondering on what we make of the "lull and dulls" of everyday life (without all the ...

I'm a pastor and I left my church & full time ministry.

Many did not see me stepping out of the church and ministries I was leading, and thought it was something really drastic on my part. In this video I share my story which will hopefully not only clarify the reasons behind my decision, but also challenge the way we see calling, church and success in ministry. When you said you love the mega church experience. Understand you are feeding the flesh. I remind you. You are to put your deeds of the flash to - daily. These things are not good for people. It looks just like the world just like a rock show. Just like Hollywood, those things are alive from the right track. But you need to take it even further. Reject that thinking about the mega church. The light shows the mixing boards. That stuff is all trash and I believe of the devil to deceive. Come out and be a separate God sayes that means different. You're GE going. The holy spirit is alive and well his purpose will be done

This is why God puts so much importance on marriage and uses a lot and communication about the church. The believers edify one another. That is why we are supposed to come togethere in small groups. That's how it was done. I certainly am glad if I was married and was treated by. I have been treated in the churches. I have gone to I would be miserable in that marriage. That is why I understand exactly what you are trying to do and I agree. I feel that the persecution in this country is now starting to come and these buildings we call. The church will be easy to fine and you will see them run for the hills at those brothers. And sisters will then shut their mouths as most are actually not brothers and sisters but wolves

99% of all modern-day churches are a scam led by the preachers to get money by the name of Jesus Christ like the apostles said you don't even need teachers you have the Holy Spirit and word of God.

I've come to see the word "pastor" as a bad word these days. They're are so few of you men claiming the title asks actually living up to it. I'm convinced 99.999% of pastors are men who are too lazy to find a real job. When I can show up to any church on any Sunday and dismantle their watered down teachings it means it's time to stop going.

I agree very much w what Jon said. We don't minimize or demonize the church role n work. Yet our serving is not limited in the church. Reach out, living out god's teaching in every day life, discipleship with all means. The Lord sees our whole life, our inner being, think, see and serve as the way Jesus does. He is our Lord, He is beyond n deeper than some good structures.

Ministry for Baptist churches is doing the activities inside a particular organized church. For them, outside the organized church is not a ministry. Not all Christians have access to organized churches. We have already the King James Bible, and we can study and learn from it. If we tell the unsaved about the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, I believed this is Jesus ministry. Did anyone in our time talk to Jesus about His ministry? Why some pastors talked as if they are the ultimate source of information about God? Pastors like these are just fooling themselves.

There is one gauge of true Christian. A Christian who love Jesus and His word. Jesus is the God of order. Serving God outside the word of God is of the devil. Loving a pastor or church more than Jesus is idolatry.

Many pastors said that the position of a pastor is the highest calling from God. That's why even if not called by God to become a pastor they became one out of their own calling. If something wrong happened they blame God.

Kudos to all 3 for opening up. I'm almost 70 years old. I believe we need to hear from this generation to know how to be of help to them and not push what we know down their throat. Their generation are well educated with plenty of knowledge available at their finger tips. Disciples of the Kingdom can be whatever the Lord wants then to be for His purpose and glory. Truth be told, not all spiritual leaders are disciples of the Kingdom. My encouragement to all 3 is this....press on to know the One True God and Jesus whom He sent and you will know how to live.... John 17:3, John 8:12. Be strong and courageous.

Maybe its because it wasn't cburch but a rock concert. Have eyes but dont see? Have ears but dont hear? God is spirit. And seeks those to worship him in spirit and truth. The flesh element is going to trip us up everytime but we dont do it with our own strength but TRUST IN HIS. The Bible is real. It needs to be read from a special place inside of ourselves. I cant believe how real it is. There are true believers of Jesus Christ in this world. Our Creator God designed it this way 🙏

I saw and watched this video partially long time ago. I'm in this moment right now. The ministry is overwhelming, it doesn't feel right. I feel like I'm becoming too 'religious'. I'm a teacher, singer, youth director, and a core leader in the church. I'm in this season of confusion. I prayed to God for what my next move is, but I can't seem to figure out what exactly He wants me to do, but I'm sure I'm off to the next season. That's what He says he's doing through His word. I know He wants me to take the next step, but I don't know the next step. After serving the church for about 13 years, I want to something more than these programs. They don't feel right within me. It's so hard, there's noone I can talk to about this as well. Thank you for this video.

i can relate to u. i left my church a few years ago bcos somehow God was speaking tomy heart like this..."are u going to spend the rest of your life sitting on that chair every Sunday morning? There's so much i want u to do." wow after that i began to hunger for God's word and i learned more abt the bible than all the years i spent inside our church. Now im ministering to my sisters and niece and nephews.

I have been in the path for a year, as i matured more in my faith, I came to realize many of the youth are very lukewarm. Yet they were religious. I stopped showing up at the church, and all of my opportunities of "servings" got taken away. (It seemed they were trying to punish me in a way) i decided to get into biblical institute and seek Gods word, instead of trying to gain a "title." I stopped being involved in church but Gods been speaking to me in ways, that i cant even explain. I realized i didnt have to rely on a church, to develop my relationship with God. My hunger grew for God, compared to when i was doing ministry.

If Christian service could be performed only through organized church how about those Christians who have no access to church building and pastor. How could the unsaved people be reached by the gospel if the so-called saved Christians would concentrate in church building with pastor controlling their lives?

It's sad how people are leaving church not because of the influence outside of church, but hurtful incidents within the church. Let's be real here, ministries will always run whether you're there or not. To many churches, the programs matter more than the people, all in the name of evangelism or ministry, within the church building. When you're sick, or wanting to take a break, it seems that you've offended an unspoken rule. When you're struggling spiritually, the church judged. When you're going through life challenges, the church condemned you for having little faith. Still, the program show goes on. Take the programs and church aside, am I still a brother to these people whom I deemed soldiers of the ministry in the Kingdom of Heaven? Trust me, there are millions of struggling believers who felt this way, that the obligations to attend church every pretty much forced. Even the long time Christians are led to believe that the only way to know God is by attending church, but not realistically helping a struggling heart about the practical steps of prayer, biblical knowledge, actual genuine prayer and the list goes on. I've not been to church for 6 years now. I've been deeply hurt by Christians who deemed themselves as the holiest of them all and held their own authorities over others who are sinners, who attend worships regularly and are ministry leaders, but cheaters and manipulators of those who are poor and less knowledgeable than them. At this point, non believers are legitimately better in terms of attitude, genuine care and perhaps, you may even feel that these are God-given people. Christians who are reading this, reach out more often to your fellow believers whom have struggled in their faith and have long not attended the church's self-proclaim glorious program, genuinely care for them and DO NOT invite them back to church, but bring your genuine-loving care to them outside of the church. Pray with them, realistically care about their lives and don't expect them to come back to church at all. For real, STOP with your cloudy-care with the end game of expecting them to return to church. The truth is, we need care outside of church, not inside the 4 walls. For non believers who see this, I must say this: believe that Christ died for you, but do not give your whole life to the church blindly because of peer pressure. Your relationship with God is personal and your restoration as God's vessel can be set even outside of church and not always necessarily inside. The church outside needs more outreach and genuine people who are, not cowboy preachers who condemn sinners and bash for their life decisions. If you're still reading this, my name is Richard from Malaysia, and do pray for me as I'm genuinely struggling to find my faith again because of past hurts and the confusion of who and what God is. Do I believe that Christ died for my sins, rose from the dead and is the only way to God? Yes, but I no longer want to be in church because it became so program based and the essence of worship has long disappeared. I'm open for a conversation with any believers out there who is genuinely willing to help without judgement and condemnation.

Check out the Mormons. Ive been talking to the missionaries and I’ve been blown away. As a life long Christian I’ve never given any attention to them. But as I’ve humbled myself, and listen to what they have to say, I’ve been moved and touched by the Holy Spirit stronger than I ever have in my entire life. What they say is true I know it and God knows it. I’m scheduled to be baptized next month.

I’m not a pastor, but I had devoted my single life in my mid 20s called by God to be in the ministry to help young adults and it was a movement and all praise and glory to God that He used me as a vessel to touch people and become saved in about 5 yrs of ministry. And after 5 yrs God had something different for me, and though I know it was about to happen, the church I was in wasn’t happy with a lot of different decisions I made, persecution, and judgement… at the end, it is God who is glorified and who I would fully listen to for His will for my life and not what the church think or what they say they heard from God. Anyways, long story short, I am so grateful that I choose the leap of faith to choose the narrow path even after those hardship and judgement, and stick with God even when i may think that I have lost a lot of people that I had helped and when I needed help, there’s no one there but God. That’s my realization. That everything is meaningless without God. It’s not about the number or the program but the relationship that we have with Christ. And now our miracle baby is a gift of God has given me choosing that lonely walk, that become the best blessing God has given me.
