One of, if not THE easiest tutorials to follow. I’m pretty confident and familiar with the A320 but ILS approach was a miss and hit with me. 20% of the time I’d nail it and 80% I’d mess up. This has layer everything out plain and simple. Thank you sir 🫡
Thank you 😊, very pleased to help
The industry plant u mentioned is not BMW, it's actually the origin of Bayer which, as u probably know, is a large pharmaceutical company
This is the kind of information I simply love to hear! Yes, Bayer is well known 😊
Very useful thanks. Always wonder how the main screen in free flight adds really shallow approach patterns like you have a Cesna, even if you are in a Boeing.
Great video. Is there a way to have auto pilot takeoff and landing to for perfect landings? Thanks
AP in the Skyhawk is GPS based for departure, cruise and approach. Unfortunately not take off and landing (AP landing is possible in A320 fly by wire though)
Thanks for this. I usually just pretend to know what I’m doing. This is what I need to watch!
Greeting from Australia! Many thanks for this and the other videos. Well explained and interesting.
Glad you liked it
Is it just me or does it seem every approach turns into a hurricane landing for the last week? Could be traveling along with nice to decent weather and as soon as I get close to the approach it turns into a storm. WTH?
Same here 😂
Be aware that with live weather there currently is storm Floriane in Europe anyway
@@sonicgazellepilot I do like to check out current weather like that, but not in CAREER Mode lol... I dont even do the live weather missions. Im just not good enough for it... not yet. For the last week, winds and weather have seemed somewhat extreme on every approach. In my last flight ,my plane froze up in warmer conditions than the 2.5 hour flight there. It was 10c warmer than the whole flight flying through clouds and low visual weather and as soon as it seems weather cleared up and got a little warmer, my c172 started to freeze up. Bad weather and difficult conditions at the end of every flight seems a little too extreme. I dont mind difficult flights sometimes, but every flight shouldnt be like this. Maybe I just need a break from the game already.
You use the approach without the ils frequency?
In my case it worked without the need for ILS frequency
I can't get ILS working at all in any plane. Even when I get the glide slope to appear the plane doesn't follow it, it gets stuck in the altitude on the leg just before the TOD.
Are you sure you engage approach after the last turn ?
@@sonicgazellepilot I might have set it just before, but it should pick up the localizer all the same shouldn't it?
From my experience the "localizer" in GPS mode works below 1500 feet once within less then 45 degrees angle with respect to the last straight line to the runway
@@sonicgazellepilot I think I have a buggy install with add ons that may have broken some things.
Hi, try this from my new video :) th-cam.com/video/z4odnBUyNNc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vhFJ2Zy12uhHKa6w
My apr button wouldnt turn on....
Try approach at lower altitude, for example 1000 feet
@sonicgazellepilot i was fairly low...i tried it twice...hmm ill jus keep trying lol
Are you sure Auto Pilot (AP) button is also turned on ? Good luck !
@sonicgazellepilot yh AP is on following the gps all the way to the airport..i go down to about 1000-1500ft when about 10miles away from runway..then when about 5 miles i press apr button but it doesnt turn on not sure what im doing wrong
@@ogwolf2844 I think it is not at five miles, but after a red letter G appears on your flight display (see minute 4:04 in my video)
its hard to see what your doing, you need to set the camera up to show the panel head on. That glance view sucks when your on a phone and trying to decipher what your looking at.
If you really need to learn watch it on a laptop, or even better a 8K tv 🙉
Do you fly MSFS 2024 on a phone ? Good luck !!
Thanks for the video...I was struggling to land my plane manually and pefectly! I finally know RNAV, VNav and Approach mode are the keys for perfect landing without crash..still mastering how to land my plane using Autopilot too!
Great have fun
Thank you so much!
it doesn't show up on the tablet though does it? i don't care just wondering. trying it now.
The final fix or top of descend does not appear on the gps panel, but upon approach the glide path diamond shows after clicking auto pilot
Thank you for that nice video!
Glad you liked it!
80kts would be before base you should be 75kts by final then 65kts after final also dont put flaps down unless you are below 80kts
you can put 10' flaps all the way up to 110kts on a 172
@@J03130 i understand that but this is career mode in a sim not real life put your flaps down above 80 and you get a penalty
Nice ! Thanks for de tip ! Greetings from holland ! 😎✌🏽
Veel plezier ✈️
Nicely explained. 👍
Thanks
That's pretty cool. I come from a helicopter background, so am just getting my feet wet on the fixed wing side of things. Going to give this autopilot a shot on the next mission I fly! Thanks!
Have fun !
but you already have the route, is it possible to use Nav mode?
You can use nav mode and catch the glide path with approach button
Amazing video
Glad you think so!
Can you teach me on discord how to talk for atc clearance and generally how to talk the pilot language?
@@lensscobar It is somewhat a learnig curve 😉. You will have to follow the guidelines on Vatsim.net to get you started with the Vatsim software. Then for pilot language first I would learn the pilot aviation alphabet. Once you master that the best is to learn from youtube video´s (I have made a couple) the phraeseology for IFR or VFR Vatsim flights. If you take your time you will get there. Goodl luck !
You could start here: th-cam.com/video/5RogL0lLnb8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qRALsOZ-7jVIIKaW
@sonicgazellepilot honestly am trying to learn us much as possible and i think that link will save me
Thank you - often the missions are using very small airports, and they are not found by Navigraph or other flight planning tools. Any idea how to do it for such airports?
I skip those 😂
Wow, Thank you very much for that info!! I was sold on getting Navigraph due to this vid. Not anymore. Not if Navigraph can't find these sidewalk runways that Career mode wants me to fly into in total IFR. Thank you.
You can try set the flight to IFR in the EFB, then click Auto Pilot after take off. Is less precise thought.
Try this for small airports: th-cam.com/video/sEl2a47QQ2k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=csYh8AcOGJQL5OMZ
following the tutorial exacly like you do it but my cessna keeps turning the wrong direction and just "swings" left and right. But alt works fine. Please help!
Did you check that NAV is turned off ? That would make the plane follow GPS in stead of heading mode
Thanks for the video. How can I make the iPad bigger?
Via the settings icon you can make it large
thx!🙌
Welcome!
the 1 dislike is probabbly someone who cant read
Haha, thx man for the support
Can this also work along with Vatsim ?
You could copy and paste the waypoints from Navigraph to Simbrief route, then prefile on Vatsim. But bare in mind that Vatsim ATC will want to assign you a SID and STAR
Thanks!! Your video made all the difference as soon as I found it. Thanks for the help!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for this the sim got even better now 👍
Happy to help make it more fun 😊
OMG this changed my gaming experience thank you so much Subbed🙏🏼
Glad I could help
simple clear effective! Thanks! More than one thing I have to see how to manage is the speed of the simulation... I know how to speed it up or slow it down but I can't find out how to know how fast it is, or reset its speed to normal...
Try all steps in the video, and then hit the button (bottom left) FLC: Flight Level Change, do this when you have the desired speed, and the plane should then maintain that speed
@@sonicgazellepilot thanks, I was talking about speeding up the simulator, not the plane itself ;) sim rate
@@adamu6941the number of times you press increase to speed it up is the number of times you press decrease to slow it down. Also if you set a stop watch timer in the log you can know if you’re normal if the counter is normal speed
In settings map some keys or buttons to "INCREASE SIM RATE" and "DECREASE SIM RATE" 😉
You’re the man. I don’t like any video over 10 mins so this was perfect and to the point. Keep making more vids man. I’m subbed.
i just got downvoted to hell for asking for 10 minute videos, the guy had sent a link for a 1 hour 44 minute video on auto pilot.
in MS2020, the recommended cruise altitude is shown in the nav log in the flight planner. Now in MS2024 everything got moved to the EFB, so where do i find the recommended cruising altitude now?
You can set the cruising altitude on the top right of the flight planner in the EFB
@@sonicgazellepilot yes but my question is HOW do i know what the recommended cruising alt is? before i can even set it
because it used to be an information right from the nav log in MSFS2020, now it's no longer showing
@@JohnWill-JW maybe you can plan on SimBrief and see which are all the recomendation (cruising speed, altitude and etc..) ... I think there is a bug at this moment..
Thank you, for thisclear concise tutorial,I found it very useful

wow wow thank you for sorting my issue out. Now i can get to fly any were in the world ith confidence all thanks to you could never get the to diamonds to show up and ive done a 1000 hrs in msfs and your the first one to explain what was wrong and how to correct it thank you so much
Really glad this was useful for you 😊
What if you take off and made your first mistake, how can you fix it, obviously in real life you cannot go back to the runway
As long as you don´t crash, you can fix your mistake and continue the departure
My man...Than You! 👌
Any time!
how did you get that ipad u use to import from simbrief
