Backpacking Four Pass Loop from Maroon Bells in Colorado
มุมมอง 1.2K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
In July 2023 over 3 days and 2 nights we hiked and backpacked Four Pass Loop near Aspen, Colorado in the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness Area. We hiked the 41.4 km loop counter clockwise camping in the East Fork Zone and North Fork Zone (we booked the permits late so we couldn't camp in the good areas). This was our first backcountry camping trip in the mountains and our first time being over ...

In this video we go to some of the best photography locations in Yosemite and explore the backcountry for 3 days and 2 nights in the winter. We hike the Mist Trail and Panorama Trail and check out Vernal Falls, Nevada falls, and Glacier Point. We camped both nights in Little Yosemite Valley, which requires wilderness permits (they are self-issued at the Valley Visitor Center during the winter)....

Awesome. I miss those days. My van is 90% done now. I look forward to seeing your future adventures. Happy new Aussie subscriber here
Sev with the assist 💪
Nice. ❤
Good to see the progress!
lol at Lauren not being able to get out of the van at the end haha
It's coming along well!
Nice work… Looks like you’re really researching materials and equipment. Looking forward to seeing the next steps.
That looks like a lot of work friends!
Hi will you be vlogging the van build completely? Was thinking of subscribing that’s all. I’m doing up my 2023 sprinter now too… but I’m in Australia
Yes will be doing build/update videos every 1-2 weeks!
Glad I got recommended this. Good luck and can't wait to see the build! 💯
Nice rig to begin your journey. Enjoy!
❤❤❤❤
glad to have found you at the beginning of your journey! I'm sure you've already been told loads, but I would re-consider the front cab partition. If you ever need to leave quickly and don't want to get out to get back in, then you want a way of getting to the front cab - maybe a door as a compromise? Also, 'curling' up for bed may work for a day or two, even a week, but not long term, your knees will hate you. Worth a consideration?
@@looseygooseycreations it would be nice, but it’s a bench seat so can’t do a door
cannot wait to follow along!!!!
🚐 let’s gooo
Nice Sprinter Van would loved to bought a newer one but its way too expensive in Norway. Let the Adventure begin and convert this Van ❤🙏
you said you are leaving the partition wall in for added security. while this for sure makes it harder to get into the back from the front, it also makes it harder, well, impossible, to get to the front from the back. so, if you ever get into a situation you need to quickly drive out of, it won't be possible without leaving the van first. Also, the Sprinter is relatively small and the cab area could be part of the living space, especially with swivel front seats.
@@orange13 very true. We were meaning more security from people seeing in. Front swivel would be nice but it’s a bench seat currently so it would be a lot of effort, plus a lot harder to insulate
@@wagstaffmedia you can just add a curtain behind the seats for privacy while still have easy access to the driver's seat. I'm really looking forward following your build.
Sprinters are not particularly small - coming in different lengths - but rather narrow. And expensive. And overengineered. And the engine is hard to work on, needs a surgeon rather than a mechanic. That's why the mechatronics at the Mercedes agents are wearing white, not blue.
You are a few years late to start van life on TH-cam. LOL.
@@human1513 more like a decade late lol
Oh my god, that's a lot of miles for one year, someone has definitely given that thing a good flogging
@@georgesdesk Yep, 2000 engine hours so about 5 hours a day, every day since it was bought 16 months ago
Prolly mostly highway/interstate, so the mileage doesn't matter too much.
I want one too
Congratulations! Looks like a nice vehicle. Looking forward to seeing the build progress.
Love these Mercedes Sprinter vans! Looking forward to seeing your build-out!
Excited to see your improvements and adventures! Great video, love the humour and the casualness.

One word WOW 🤩
What a difference 😂
That is HUGE 😳🤯
That’s beautiful ♥️
That looks amazing 🤩 ❤
I can watch these type of videos all day while I edit/work!! Keep it up!
Back in the late 90's, I had hiked from Sunshine village to Mt Assiniboine, then out wonder pass to Mt Shark parking lot. As this was my first back country hike, I had arranged to meet up with a couple from the Apline club. They were concerned my pack was too heavy. One of the things they said I did not need was my mosquito spray, and that I could use their natural repellent. We camped at Magog campsite and were literally eaten by the mosquitos! We did a few day hikes, and we were chased off Nub peak by a thunderstorm! I had found a rock that looks just like Mt Assiniboine on top of Nub peak too. Still have it! We hiked out Wonder pass and there is a spot along Marvel lake where the trail goes from the hot dry open views to the darkest cool forest where no direct sunlight can penetrate, and you expect to see the big bad wolf! When the hike was over, my hiking companions said to "never" let anyone make you leave your mosquito repellent behind again!
@@Dtk-1ofakind Sounds like a great time! Yes, mosquito repellent is essential!
Beautiful video ❤.

Wow! This is seriously the highest quality and best Assiniboine video I've ever seen!

Nice to see my nieces.
We have such fond memories from Whistler's camp and Jasper National Park last year. So glad you guys got out safely. It is so sad to see this terrible fire impacting so many people. We love Jasper and its community. Thank you for sharing this experience and take care.
So thankful you made it out safely and for the kindness of the people you encountered along the way. Praying for relief from the wildfires.
So glad that you made it out okay. The fire situation is just devastating. We drive from Ontario to B.C. often and for the past few years it's been fires and smoke all along the way. I'm not sure if we'll be able to go back. :(
Thank you for sharing your experience so candidly. Thankful you all got out safely.
