In this situation what I would do is just keep doing your job and not speak up. Someone else commented that as well. I wouldn’t ruffle any more feathers, it’s seems like you’re on the radar now. I also wouldn’t post about work or the job woes. Just a suggestion. We don’t want to see you stressed out like the last time.

I started paying extra principal on my 15 year mortgage in 2022 with a balance of $377,000. Now, my balance is $160,000 and based on my spreadsheet I will be completely paid in full December 2027 which is a total of 5 years. And, I am single doing this alone. Yes, you can pay off your whole mortgage in 5 years with extra principal payments.

I get the grievances but honestly you either need to step up and be a manager, quit and find something you enjoy or learn how to speak more professionally or just let things go entirely. Even if you are “direct” or making valid points, it’s just not professional to interject when someone is speaking or constantly keep questioning them like an interrogation in front of an entire team. If you’re not satisfied with the answer, email them personally after or ask to have a one on one. No need to keep asking rhetorical questions or trying to force out answers from someone that you clearly already know you won’t get just to make a point or win an argument. You don’t “win” anything by doing this other than stress yourself out and put a target on your back. And your coworkers will rally with you in silence and agree but also try to use you as a martyr while they seek cover and watch you take the hit. They’ll never actually speak up publicly and they’ll use you as a sacrificial lamb. Accept that in these environments, you’ll never be “understood” and they’ll never make efforts to do so because it simply doesn’t benefit them to do so. And I’m not defending corporate culture or downplaying the dynamics that exist, especially amongst us black women when we try to voice our concerns and be heard. However, you’re trying to make sense, empathy, fairness, and logic out of a system that is inherently illogical and not made for us. You’re trying to force humanity and care/concern out of a corporate institution that will always favor what the “rules” are and go by the book unless it benefits them. Focus on what you can control, do what you’re paid to do, and pick and choose your battles wisely otherwise you’ll be re-living these exact situations every week and bringing it all on yourself when you know for yourself that it won’t change. Corporate culture is conformity and sheep culture. No way around it. You either learn to live with it and sacrifice parts of yourself or quit and seek work that suits your personality and needs for personal expression and logic. If nothing has alleviated the stress or dissatisfaction with this job even after mental health leave, etc. you should really just considering leaving and or starting a new job. You’re financially and well equipped so you won’t struggle in that transition. It might delay the path you’ve set and the inner anxious perfectionist won’t let that path deviate, but sometimes you gotta cut cord. Just food for thought

I had a job where I was not appreciated either. Hardest worker there and it went unnoticed no matter how much I spoke up for myself. I finally left the company and now they see how worthy I was. There is better out there for you!

When I heard what you said to him, my first thought was wow... no manager is going to like you questioning how they do their job & then also doing it while on a team call. It seems like maybe he didn't like it either, since he did a call with you afterwards. Even though you feel like you are being direct, direct really does come off as rude sometimes & I don't think it's because you are female either. Just the way you present it on this video, it comes off with confrontational vibes. I am not to trying to discourage you from feeling how you feel, as you have that right..... Managers, coworkers & jobs in general can wear on anyone's nerves, so I get it. I too also despise meetings, and I have chosen as you... I just say as little as possible and really only speak when spoken to or required. I just sit on my phone or read a book, while they yap about nothing & waste everyone's time. I decided if that's what they want to pay me to do, then fine. LOL. I guess you just have to pick your battles... since you are sooooo close to freedom, maybe just let slide and keep on keeping on. Be happy, it will be over soon 😃

As a Black Woman we need to learn to pick our battles. I always get roped into being on task force teams but I really don't care about corp processes. I only care about me and my money. I do what makes the job easiest for me. Trying to have them change their processes and policies take too much energy and you usually get labeled as the troublemaker because as a Black woman NO ONE will usually have your back and they try to discredit your opinions. This is why I hate being put on task force teams, yet always get pulled in! You'll be fighting alone. Most times it's not worth it. Only fight for myself and what affects my bottomline. I keep silent otherwise and let them other folks start fighting battles and stop depending on the Black woman to be everyone's advocate. It only burns you.

Maybe its time for a career change? Working in fraud means you are well equipped for any project management and/or compliance jobs. I recently pivoted careers after being in translation 10 years, now I'm in communications management and the transition was so easy I kicked myself for not doing it earlier. Dealt with toxic boss and an even more toxic company. Consider getting your CAPM and do project management. Don't think that just because you don't have a college degree that you can't work in corporate.

My holder changed 3x after closing in 2023 although I was sending more towards principal .Payments are applied but the same grace you are given for your 1st payment restarts the clock if holder changes. Since I have automatic payments I also factored in an additional $400 to principal monthly. And when I can I send a dbl mortgage payment to principal. Whatever you decide to save/pay you got this!!
