Your fence is not the best coyote deterrent. We recommend supervising pets outdoors, particularly at dusk, dawn and night time hours.

Wow Lol
You are a great teacher. Very intriguing is your attitude and voice. Thank you for all the good information. I think i befriended a coyote tonight at work. She has a bad leg and has been by herself for a year now that i know of. She just stayed over in the field laying there in the shadows of darkness watching me at about 25 yards away for half the night although I had to say goodnight an see ya tomorrow. i don't want to deter from being to wild i suppose because like i said she has a bad leg and probably has been outcast by her pack. i also say "She" because I'm most always able to tell the difference in canines. i hope I'm doing the right thing.
Can i pitch in here. ,? No. They are staving dogs, correct or no. If anyone is hungry, we will eat. No matter what, just like dogs. Dont be a dick, dont starve thing. Otherwise they will show up with the next level horseshit
I have pasture raised chickens and have had them for 3 years. Only racoon problems until now. The coyotes have figured out that chickens are delicious and easy to kill. I hate killing animals, but they have killed several of mine, so what do i do? I scream at them and they dont move. They simply walk right up and take another chicken. So now there are multiple coyotes all over my 5 acre yard, thatvarent afraid of people, and i have small grandchildren here often.
In situations like these, we protect the livestock. Coyotes and all the other wildlife (likely including bobcats) are hard to predict, and will keep coming back if the attractant is still there. By killing coyotes, you are actually increasing the local population. When one or more is missing from the pack- and it wasn’t old age- next denning season more babies will be born to make up for it. It’s a biological thing that coyotes don’t have control over. If you’d like to send me an email I’m happy to work with you and your situation specifically. info@terangaranch.org
Thank you ‘ I know we moved into their area the desert in Phx !! We have a lot of wildlife & we have cat stays in doors & small to large dogs
I hope they don’t poison our wildlife anymore
thank you
Best video I've found on repelling coyotes. Appreciate all of these tips! I've got a coyote or two that have been making unwelcome and unannounced visits at night in my yard. Coyotes show up when you least expect them, which makes my evenings out on the deck even more on edge. Got tired of their surprises. Even the 'hazing' I would do at the top of my lungs, they just seemed to turn, roll their eyes at me, shrug a 'meh', then slowly saunter off. The final straw was when one decided to leave scat right in the middle of my dg pathway along fence line. Might have been their way to say - 'I own this joint.' Or.. maybe it's to alert the rest of its pack - 'Stay away from here, this guy likes to sing at the top of his lungs. And it's not pretty.' I can't decide which. 🤔 19:52 - The sprinkler one in particular inspired me to get a 'Stream Machine QF-2000' which shoots up to 70 feet of refreshing water. Now the surprise will be on them whenever they visit next - I'll be ready. Look forward to posting my results here. ☺ I wanted to add one more deterrent - Foxlights. I've read good successes with those, and I like the fact the lights are random, also quiet.

Why are the trees in focus and she's out of focus?
😂😂
Because she does her own videos and she's not tech-savvy. She's trying to get a message out.
Extremely informative. Thank you!
Neighbors leave out food for thier cats to roam, multiply, spray, defecate, destroy property, kill birds. We have cat deterrents but the coyote does best. ty
You have a great presentation. We live by the mountains and the coyotes used to come only at night. Now they are resting in my front yard even during the morning and afternoon. I like all you gadgets, but I would like to know if using cayenne pepper or cloves or wolf urine spray does deter the chayotes from resting in my front yard? The cayenne paper and / or cloves will not hurt the grass also.
Hi there! Thank you for the kind words. Yes, cloves and cayenne can help. If you would like to message me I can give you more specific information for your situation. info@terangaranch.org. There are a wide variety of humane deterrents available.
We in the South didn't have coyotes until the red wolf was killed off
First off, your are an amazingly good speaker/educator. Secondly, I love your hair and most importantly a. I’m having trouble locating that tiny airborne you blow into ( I want to get one for my mom and for me) and b. Do you have a link to any/all the products you have shown us, so when I purchase some money goes to your organization? I live in Alpine, CA not to far from you, and yesterday for the first time ever, a coyote ( Really tall, big and large black and brown) came over my low fence, without a sound, literally walked right up to me and was checking to see if he could come in my front door. We have plenty of food out here for them, he wasn’t aggressive, just curious…however, that won’t be the case the next time….and since they are now coming into my very personal space, I would like to see them on the other side of my fence from now on…the travel from the creek up the mountain on the backside of my house…which is awesome to watch. I love the penny can, my mom taught me that forever ago and didn’t even think about that! I do have some of the red eye solar lights but not in the front…I like a few of the other suggestions. Anyway, thank you again. X
Any kind of whistle or air horn will work. If you’d like ours- send me an email with your address and I can mail you some. Info@terangaranch.org We’re also here to answer specific questions you have about your situation. ❤️🐾 (Thank you for subscribing!!)
Sadly, Monterey county is so backward there are no urban coyotes anywhere, even rare in las padres forest. If theres a sighting, its all high- tension drama in the news & panic.
I feel you. 💔
I wish I lived in a place with no coyotes. Every day I'm afraid to walk my dogs at the park.
Can I use the Critter Gitter to scare away rats? I’ve seen them scurrying along our fence, either on the top rails or along the ground by the fence. Thank you for the work you’re doing
You could, but it might be a bit much for rodents. Light, noise and/or scent is the answer for you. Email me for details. We’ll come to your backyard for free. Info@terangaranch.org
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
This was so informative and helpful!!
Enjoyed Dan's interview on JRE.
An amazing book and such a great story of what the coyotes went through(eradication through the 1920s/animal eradication act). I'm now reading American serengeti (a more broad spectrum of the west).
do both males and females do scrapes and Flemen?
Loved hearing the step by step on the Bigfoot story. Kim Cabrera coud be a professional narrator from nature shows: her voice is so pleasant and explains things beautifully.
Good morning, Teranga Ranch. it is a pretty exhilarating video. thank. :)

GREAT information!! Thank you!! Definitely subscribed and look forward to more!!
Awesome! Thank you!
This link below is a good follow up regarding Hazing tactics, specifically about our "follow through" to ensure the coyote got the message. Wildlife understands "territory" language and they will respect our territory when we do our part and don't send mixed signals! This was good info, thank you! Not sure we'd agree about coyotes being "bold" in general, but as individuals they are all of their own mind and experiences and vary in how shy or bold they may be. They certainly may become bolder when hunger becomes a matter of survival for him/her. But when left alone coyotes will keep their family pack size limited, and with only one mating pair... It is we humans who can disrupt that and cause the conflicts that are a direct result of causing increased reproduction rates. th-cam.com/video/7MOnDIx71Q0/w-d-xo.html
Nice job, Dana! I'm loving these videos. :)
Thank you!
What is the instrument called that emits the sound?
It's called a Critter Gitter, here's the link: crittergittersensor.com/
