It's NOT The Same... - Sundara Closed-back Review
I cant believe you all buy into this crap, get a scope - its all bullshit.
Got these when they first came for WAY too much 😅. The current price makes them worth it if you want a headphone which will literally shake your brains. They're also surprisingly good for gaming, especially large scale FPS games. They give a really cinematic feel to the audio.
For sure - their initial price has been crazy high for what they are. Fortunately HiFiMan lowered it a lot since then and now it makes more sense ;)
could you do videos on dolby cp950a and cp950plus and other dolby atmos 7.1.4 interfaces ??
Sadly, I don't think I currently have access to those products. However, keep tuned and ring the notification bell not to miss it in the future!
Is the difference to the organic just in tuning? Meaning if I eq both they will be similar?
Mostly tuning yes, but the Organic seems to have a little bit better technical performance.
@@TheAudioStuff I want to replace the Ananda Nano and use for mixing/mastering. In that regard, Organic eq’ed is better than both Nano and Arya Stealth in terms of hearing everything with best timbre, transients, and separation?
PS. I already have monitors in treated room, so this is for use in combination with those.
If you want a dead neutral sound, Arya Stealth is going to get you closer to that. However the separation, transients and the bass are a bit better on the Arya Organic. Plus the Arya Organic is closer, with its brighter tuning to the overly bright beyerdynamic series products, often used in mixing/mastering.
Your descriptions are spot on! I had mine for a year now and i love them to death!
So nice! Are you already planning any upgrades? ;)
I am pretty sure that cables do make a difference. The issue is that the audiophile community mistakes ‘difference’ with ‘improvement’. A Merc is different from a BMW that is different from an Audi. I challenge you to say one is objectively better than the others.
Spot on!
It sounds like nonsense for one reason…it is nonsense. Cables make zero…absolutely zero difference.
When people say that, I always ask about what their system is. Would you be able to share more details about what you're currently using in your listening system?
whats a good mix amp or dac to use?
They can be driven with pretty much everything. What do you have on hand currently?
Im trying to find a high end headphone that will work well for playing games, has a nice low end (I produce electronic music), and maybe is closed back? My PC gets pretty loud when im in ableton so im worried about it being loud through open back headphones. Ive never gotten into high tech audio stuff before so im pretty confused about all the info out there. Anyone here have any advice/recommendations? Id really appreciate it :)
If you're fine with an open back (shouldn't be a big issue), then Arya Stealth is pretty much as universal, as it gets.
@@TheAudioStuff Beautiful, thanks for getting back to me, man :)
Great to hear! Hope you have fun ;)
Will btr7 amplifier be enough for this headphone?
It can work! Won't get 100% of this headphone's performance, but it should do.
Just use active speakers with a digital input (genelec, geithain, dutch & dutch, Kii) and spend your money on room acoustics. ❤ Cables are nonsense.
For such systems, built around genelec speakers for example, cables surely aren't very important. However, I'd really encourage you to try some serious passive speakers in a well-optimized setup to see what it's all about.
I just revisited your video and watched it for the second time now that I own the e-prototypes. And I have to agree with everything that you said, especially the love them or hate them part. For myself, I found out that they are not my kind of tuning. Sometimes I feel that the base becomes so much that you lose some details and that for me gets fatiguing to listen to. However, that could be just myself. So that being said, I had to return them and will be looking for something else that is maybe a little warmer and with more detail. Thank you for the review on this one and the other ones that you spent the time to make!
I'm extremely glad I could help that much. If you're looking for something with more detail, and warmth, you can perhaps watch my videos about the EM6L & Orchestra Lite - they should suit you better!

Hello, which headphones would you prefer? Ananda Stealth Magnet V3 or Arya Organic? Thank you in advance for your help. 👍🙏🎼🎵🎶
Hi, I personally like the Arya Organic a bit more, due to its technical performance. Thanks for asking!
@@TheAudioStuffThank you very much for your reply. You helped me a lot to decide. 🙏🙏🎼🎵🎶
That's truly fantastic!
Unfortunately I cannot use these types of cables, because they ARE VERY STIFF.
Is it a stiffness issue or rather just their large conectors and thickness?
DL100 vs DO100 pro ?????
If you need a headphone amp built-in go for the DL100, otherwise, I think the DO100 PRO is a bit better at being a DAC.
You can also watch my video about the DO100 PRO to get more info about it
@@TheAudioStuff yes, i saw it, they both look identical to me, could you do a comparison video ? edit: asap cuz i need to buy now
What would be your use case of those products anyway?
It’s a nice change to hear about speakers that prioritize detail retrieval without sacrificing warmth!
It sure is!
I've always found myself leaning towards warmer headphones, so this sounds perfect for my taste.
I'm not sure if it has like truly harmonic warmth, but tonally of course
You've made a strong case for looking beyond just high-end components. Synergy matters much more than we realize!
Great to hear!
The sound quality breakdown you provided helps clarify what to expect. I'm excited to consider these cables.
Sounds good!
I’ve always thought neutrality is underrated! It allows you to appreciate the music as it was meant to be heard.
It's the typical "what the artist intended"
Your analysis of the build quality speaks volumes. Curved edges give an elegant look, but also help with sound.
Ofc, it feels nicely made too
Refinement in sound quality is what every audiophile seeks! Glad you pointed that out.
Glad you liked it.
The power handling specs you provided help me understand what kind of amp I should pair with these.
Don't forget - it's not the only specification that matters in amps.
I've been hesitant about investing in high-quality cables, but your insights might just change my mind.
It's best to just try it out, honestly
Your review has definitely inspired me to reconsider my current cable setup. Thanks for shedding light on this!
Any time!
This is exactly what I've been looking for in headphones. I hate those overly bright ones that cause ear fatigue.
Great! Are you planning to buy that one?
The fact that these speakers focus on realism is a huge plus for me. I'm all about an immersive listening experience.
I'm not so sure immersiveness always goes in pair with realism. Immersive speakers are ones, that make you feel like you're a part of the performance. While realistic speakers just sound like the real thing. There's some overlap for sure though!
Great review.. HD600 or Sundara or Edition XS?
I'd say go for the Edition XS
@ I did just yesterday. I am looking for an amp for it though. Any advice? Hybrid or tube amp under $500 would be great.
For such planars, I'd avoid tubes due to impedance matching. If you want to achieve a warmer sound, you can watch my EF400 review - it should fit your needs.
FYI - my WEL's are even thicker...
Great to know! What model are you running?
@@TheAudioStuff WEL Signature biwired...very good

Great video, Verum 1 price to performance is second to none and now Verum II starts shipping this month off kickstarter and I have heard nothing but great things. A company still putting out great products through wartime and keeping price low vs how good of a product we get, definitely deserve support.
Good stuff!
I'm very happy with my Verum 1 headphones, especially considering their cost. I'm looking forward to receiving my Verum 2 headphones that I paid for through the Kickstarter campaign, and which will be mailed soon. I'm fine with the factory provided cables I ngot with the Verum 1s, but I might buy some after market cables just to see what all the fuss was about.
I hope to get the Verum 2 soon, I'll review them as soon as that happens!

theses or the organic which? which one has more instrument separation. an which one is more detailed? an has better vocals? :3
You're gonna get better detail and instrument separation on the organic, however stealth is cheaper and could be nicer for vocals.
@TheAudioStuff i dont mind the brightness. ^-^ thanks!
@TheAudioStuff which one do you prefer tho? Am curious :)
@@sussychachi I'm daily driving the Arya Organic
do you think this is better then re2000?
For technical performance - no For enjoyability - it can be, probably is for most people ;)
vocal wise for females which one do you think sounds better? arya stealth or organic? also which has better instrument separation ? am tempted to get either of theses headphones.
If you can stand the brightness, which's increased here in the organic, go for it.

Lipstick? Like in the 80s! Oh, I get it, Diora was a thing in Poland back in 1980s
Hahaha yeah!
I have this unit. My first stand alone dac. I have hdmi arc going out of smart tv into the dac. Then rca going out to a yamaha as701. I notice that when the volume on the dac goes from -99 to zero....zero being the high value the dac makes a clicking noise when you turn the volume up and thr value reads -02 like something switched internally and clicks again at -01 then doesnt click when it reads 00. What is the unit doing when it makes this noise? My thought is that its clicking to a fixed volume mode or something? Is this the correct assumption? Also is it safe for the dacunit be turned up to 00 on the dislplay? And just use the tv volume control to make adjustments to volume. I usually set the yamaha integrated volume to 11oclock (just under half and leave it) i get no white noise when the dac is set to 00 on the volume so i assume its ok to have it maxed out?? I am very curiose what the clicking switchibg noise is coming from inside the dac is wheb you go from -03 to -02 on the volume knob it clicks again from -02 to -01
I noticed the same thing on my unit - it seems like it bypasses the digital volume control at that point and goes full fixed output. (that's a good thing) It is for sure safe to run it up to 00 level, don't worry about it. The engineers have though of it, and it shouldn't cause any damage. Moreover, I'm suspecting that you get the best performance running it at full output, regarding dynamic range and SNR.
Use it with SMSL C200 but I use with Oratory1090 Eq.
What exactly did you find the need to EQ? The treble range?
@@TheAudioStuff I eq’ed it to Harman for mix translation. Think it aligns better with my monitors that way.
The eq is mainly a bass boost and filling in the upper midrange dip. You can check his eq settings for this headphone. There is a little bit of treble reduction as well.
Oh alright, that makes sense! Have you done anything to tame down its treble a little bit?
@@TheAudioStuff Seems like TH-cam don't want me to link to Oratory1990's files. You can search for yourself. His Eq data base is very good. For the Nano (in the treble) he recommends a 1dB dip at 4k, 1.6dB dip at 6.6k and a -1dB shelf at 9k. So not a lot of treble reduction. He suggests to do the shelf to taste.
SMSL, Topping and WiiM all make great products that have great value.
That's true! They focus on making stuff affordable, yet still great
Why are these 600 at some store and 99 at others?
$600 is their old, regular price. Some stores perhaps haven't updated the price to the new, cheaper one. I'd contact the store to make sure ;)
SKW power cables! Make a difference!! Measurements mean nothing in cables, Speakers yes. Hearing is believing and like the snake oil crowd says, if you think you won't hear a difference you won't.
