Creator Studio: Bookmarks Basics
This video tutorial on Creator Studio's Bookmark Basics explores various features for efficiently managing and using bookmarks. It covers the Bookmark Timeline for focus and easy navigation, the Bookmarks Panel for quick searches and management, and the New Bookmark Panel for adding and refining bookmarks. Single-clicks, double-clicks, and keyboard shortcuts facilitate different interactions with bookmarks. Advanced features such as 'See-through Mode' and markdown notes enhance usability. For detailed viewing, the Bookmark Modal provides comprehensive information without disrupting playback. Additionally, exporting collections to Obsidian is straightforward for casual and avid users, while Pro users benefit from automatic syncing. The tutorial ensures users can effectively organize and access their bookmarks with these tools.
Highlights
• Creator Studio's Bookmark Timeline is designed for intuitive access, displaying one collection at a time to maintain focus and ease navigation through color-coded bookmarks sorted chronologically.
º Single-clicking on a bookmark scrubs the video to the marked time, while double-clicking opens the Bookmark Modal for detailed viewing without disrupting the video playback.
• Edit a bookmark by holding the Alt or Option key and clicking on it, select multiple bookmarks using the Command key, and delete them by pressing the Backspace key after selection.
• In Bookmarks Panel, bookmarks are sorted from the most recent to the oldest. Use the B key or the bookmarks icon to open it and type in the search bar to quickly find bookmarks based on title, note, or transcript.
• To add a new bookmark, press the N key or use the Add Bookmark button. Name the bookmark and optionally refine it with markdown notes and other features in the New Bookmark Panel.
•'See-through Mode' allows you to see the video behind the bookmark panel for easier referencing, activated by hovering over the sun icon.
•In the Bookmark Modal, view detailed information like name, capture, transcript, and notes. It can be accessed by double-clicking on a bookmark or through the full note button in the Bookmarks Panel.
• For users on casual or avid tiers, bookmarks and captures can be downloaded as a zip file and added to the Obsidian vault, while Pro users can enjoy automatic synchronization.
• Each video note in Creator Studio accompanies a same-named folder containing bookmarks and captures, with specific organization tailored as assets and collection notes.

Awesome, thank you!
This is great ngl
Hello, Thanks a lot for the fantastic tutorial. However, I still have a question about linking. Imagine I have a note named XYZ, and I refer to this note [[XYZ]] in ten different notes. When I go to the XYZ note itself I want to see all the other ten notes in which [[XYZ]] was referred. Is this possible?. Thanks in advance.
It is.The backlinks and outgoing links panel are what you’re looking for. Check out: notes.nicolevanderhoeven.com/obsidian-playbook/Using+Obsidian/01+First+steps+with+Obsidian/Using+the+right+side+panel+and+links
@@hedyraymond Exactly thats it ! thanks a lot
I'm super interested in your TH-cam plugin. I am currently taking notes on TH-cam videos with Luna Notes, but I'd love to organize my videos and playlists within obsidian (newbie)
Wow 🤩🤩🤩🤩
It looks like the only way to see any bookmarks is to have them saved under public. Privated bookmarks don't have the same timeline order as they are invisible. Can't look to see if a bookmark has already been made by me or if so where it's located.
Also I think if bookmarks are made public, we should be able to download someone else's bookmarks as well, unless that's a pro feature too....
Hey @gearsparks! Please create an issue in the support repo here 🙏 github.com/TaoLabsAI/creator-studio-support This way, we can share screenshots and I can help you out.
@@hedyraymond I had no idea this was a flaw I will do that
huge boost to taking the learning more attentively. Think the dancing robot did his job. Just got into the rhythm.
that plugin sounds AMAZING. I've been doing this with chat gpt, put it'd be amazing to have this integrated into obsidian!
Your plugin sounds great. I've struggled with identifying an efficient way of saving TH-cam videos for future reference .

@Hedy Raymond Where can we find the Obsidian bug finder plugin 3:30 and when would it launch and more
... or you make a Video, how to create a Obsidian -Plugin 😉
this is literally the best video and probably most sense making one too
This just took my researching and organizing to the next level. Holy 🐮 thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙏🏻 I’m curious to learn your methods of using it, and some best practices. Looking forward to more videos!
Thank you! Hopefully I’ll publish a couple more today 🙌
This is so much better 😍 I am loving the extension!!! I went pro to sync with Obsidian and I just want to thank you for this incredible tool.
Well dang. Can't wait to start using the extension but sux that adding a plugin was so difficult. We'll still be able to see more tips for obsidian again yes? Hopefully with some JavaScript integration, found some automated features that I wanna try but learning is tricky for me. I'm a visual artist 😅
For sure! I want make one about Templater that I’m sure you’ll love.

Update?
Huge! The Obsidian plugin has evolved into Creator Studio. Just published this video today: th-cam.com/video/KVLlveVncA8/w-d-xo.html I'm still creating guides and tutorials, but it's all working if you want to take it for a spin.
sounds like a hell of a plugin. Excited to see it if you release it
i love your narration as well as the background music. makes all of this seem like some grand adventure - which it is, but we're also just learning more software features 😆😆
Thank you! I wish I had logged in to YT sooner to read your comment.
❤
ctrl + shift + i for dev mode. + great vid thx
Hedy, great video! I love your style of presentation. I would like to be able to get your TH-cam plugin when available. Thank you . . .
Some parts could use a small pause to process the markdown syntax and what it's doing, I had to replay a few times. Despite that, I love that you get to the point of making Obsidian useful, in less than 5 minutes I now have quite a few ideas of how to do linking in my notes that is a lot more interesting thanks to this video. Well done!
I am interested in plugins
I would just turned down the music a bit tbh 😅
Will do! It seems I’m the only one that enjoys blasting the music 🤪
Please add me to the list to acquire your plugin when it becomes available
Hi!, I think the plugin is very helpful, let me know how I can use it. Does it need an OpenAi key?
Hey Luca! I’ll be releasing the plugin in the upcoming weeks. This version will require an OpenAI key.
Hey Hedy, would it be possible to beta test your plugin as you develop it for TH-cam? It would be an endlesslessly appreciated boon towards me building out some theoreticaly frameworks with far easier branch off points from direct times and quotes from the video which can spawn more notes with ideas. I would really love to help develop, learn, mentor for some amount of time under, and ultimately build myself or with partners a powerhouse application like obsidian that implements mechanics of time and human experience, I have a bunch of ideas, you might be one of the better people I develop the ideas with, and between you and I, we lock in some business plan, and pitch it to them) I already have direct access to the founders of Napkin. I have a semi-jumbled up amazingly innovative idea for humamity's future in this digital age that I think will be groundbreaking for for the next 25 years to come possibly(as per patents). Let me know if you're interested in connecting.
Hey Randy! Yes, the plugin will be open source but part of a bigger project I’m working on. Hopefully I can release the plugin in the upcoming weeks 🤞
Terrific videos, wonderfully visualized. And, yes, please put me down for the TH-cam plugin.
Do you know if obsidian can do Encrypted files? If someone wanted to?
It’s entirely feasible, but you’ll be dabbling in the dark arts 🧙♀️. It’s not for the faint of heart. Also, you won’t be able to synchronize with mobile devices, as there is no native solution available at the moment.
Excellent tutorial! Subscribed! I find it more useful to know how to use the app rather than the philosophy motivating its use. PARA, GTD or whatever you choose is personal, but how to use Obsidian is more widely useful. Thanks for all your hard work!
Thanks for the sub!
The video explainer is important, but the sound behind is also important. Congrats!
Thanks!
❤when would debugging plugin launch and ty ly for amazing video!
Just found your channel. It's great content. Yes, please, for the plugin.
Wonderful video thank you! Love the style
Wow, awesome video, thank you. Obsidian is pretty daunting to start lol. I would definitely be super interested in that plugin please! that would help me immensely. Will it be open source? I'm simultaneously casually learning Javascript so it would be cool to attempt to reverse engineer parts of it to learn a few techniques. Thanks for your effort and time, great style and voice to the video
Please, I really think that your plugin would be immensely useful, I'd even throw you some money for it. A lot of my notes and theory are going to be based on youtube videos to build out my framework of a schema on the topic of where I want to successively unchunk/fractalize my focus. Please let me know when it's available, or perhaps in the future (as I know JS just not proficient with it) we may share ideas for plugins or partner for something, as I have some innovative ones of my own
Great tutorial - but most annoying and too loud background music.
You didn’t dance while watching it did you? 💃I’ll lower it for the next ones 😊
No, actually not, @@hedyraymond 😁 - lower or no music at all would be even better. Not everyone who watches tutorials in English is a native speaker (I am not) and music in the background makes it really difficult to understand what is being said. Since it is important to watch what is shown on the screen subtitles are no option. Thank you so much for considering turning the volume down.
