Just found this - great version, Maurice!
I've just watched this through after many years. It still holds up as one of the best pieces of live folk entertainment and musicianship I've ever seen.
yeah, same feelings. Mo has no limits.
Quelle énergie!!!! Magnifique musicien. Merci pour ce partage explosif!

Wonderful Maurice ❤
My favourite part of the Shades of blue set all those many moons ago ❤️
Because you're song, the 35 express doesn't exist on TH-cam or FB I'll play it with the intention of getting others interested in your music. I love this song. And friends far and wide also love it. From here to England and from there to America. It's entirely up to you to make it known that it's your music. I love your music. As do others. You need to make your music available to everyone on TH-cam. Thanks 😁❤️👍🎶
Sir. I've seen you live. Can you play the 35 express?! I love this song but I love more!! ❤️❤️❤️😁👍
Maurice, I so much enjoy your music and your beautiful guitar playing. If you will be coming to the U.S. I hope you share that info here.
so amazing and sounding so great
Had the great pleasure of meeting Maurice recently. Lovely bloke. Go and see him gigging if you get the chance. Fantastic music. All the best mate! Rob from Dahlhausen.
Beautiful
Ruins the song.
This is a song that is very often butchered by singers, thankfully this is just superb, beautiful diction both instrumentally and lyrically, Thank You, so beautiful.
Você é sensacional: grande cantor e músico. Laurentino Rocha (Recife-PE / Brasil)
BEAUTIFUL
Heard you at Ballyhalbert . Excellent guitar work and singing .
Beautiful
I wish you would put the album where eagles fly on TH-cam. Then I could share it legally. I think it's a fantastic album as do the others I've mentioned it to. They have also bought the album through my recommendation. I'd share it with the world! It's fantastic!!
I think he is tuned CGCGGC (C5) but I play it easier with CGDGGD (G5/C)
Beautiful interpretation Maurice. I love that Belfast accent, shades of Vam Morrison here.
niiice
Good man Maurice. Beautiful version of a timeless song.
So, if the moral of this song could be distilled into a sound bite, its "Women are users. Don't trust them".
my favorite, not only a picker but a sweet voice as well....thanks for uploading
one of my favorite versions of this wonderful song. Too bad that the author's life was so unhappy.
Great rendition. always loved the poetic genius in those lyrics.
the whole album is an absolute masterpiece. Love this song since I first heard it. What a story.. deep and touching over and over again. You are a master. Wished I will see you live on stage one fine day <3
I've heard all the other versions mentioned here...YES they are really good...but this VERSION...hands down is the BEST!!
Best version of this ever.
On a quiet street where old ghost's meet .
Man that's a beautiful song and a lovely arrangement and professional recording to match.
Lovely job..The guitar and violin backing is beautiful. I'm old enough to remember the original air of the song that it was taken from "Fainne Gael an Lae"..The Dawning of The Day..One of the first songs I learned going to school .
It's amazing to thing the melody comes from another song and the words are a poem from paddy kavanagh as they just seem ment to be together.Im a Dublin musician and I was raised on this i lived in jamaica for a couple of years and really enjoyed there music so I recently put up a version of this song on TH-cam it's Mr Celtic Reggae raglan road I hope you listen to it and hope you like it although its reggae I really tried to keep a bit of Dublin grit in it.. slainté ☘☘☘
Sublime. Takes me away for a while. Paddy would be proud no doubt.
Howya nial , I just put a version of RAGLAN ROAD on TH-cam I'm not nearly as good as this but no e is very different im a dublin musician who lived in jamaica for a couple of years im "Mr Celtic Reggae" raglan road youtube version. I really hope u listen and like it ☘slainté ☘thinking of home listening this now😌
