Started doing this because I've gotten good advise from videos before, and thought people might appreciate the tips I have to share. Plus these videos might help get more people interested in mechanics because its a dying art.

How to Rebuild a Hydraulic Cylinder - CASE International Cultivator
มุมมอง 1.3Kปีที่แล้ว
Rebuilding a hydraulic lift cylinder from a CASE International 4600 Vibra Shank 25 ft. Field cultivator. I did overstate the cost on parts. Kit was $90 and a new cylinder would run $500-$600. Either way, this is definitely the better option!

Kenworth K100 (Trying to) First Start in a Long Time!
มุมมอง 33Kปีที่แล้ว
Trying to fire up a K100, sitting anywhere from 5 to 20 years. It ha a Small Cam 350 Cummins and a 16 speed transmission. Couldn’t get it to pick up fuel from tanks, only would run in ether. Either way, not a project I can take on right now. Video is pretty short but I wasn’t able to film everything. Thanks!

Sounds like a 427...
My favorite dash
the old trucks sound so sweet
I love this truck! I have a 67 C60, 366-5 spd/2spd rear. Its 27,500 gvw. I have 9.00-20 tires and the fronts sit deeper under the fender flares than yours. What size tire is on yours? If you have a chance to look Thanks for these videos, i have subscribed 😊
10.00-20's on the front. Thanks!
Thank you! Loved this video!
That should be a standard borg warner t5 transmission
Looking at buying a 79 c60 with a newer 350 for 2500 do yall recommend these trucks for this price
There’s a reason they’re cheap 🤷♂️. 350s also don’t always like being in a heavy truck like these are

A little ding you’ve got in that front bumper! 😆. Love the 2.5 Iron Duke…have one in my “88. Pretty easy to work on. Hardest job I had was replacing distributor cap and coil.
They’re tough little engines! Thanks for the watch
Much appreciated for your experience and knowledge! Helps a heck of a lot!❤
Kinda hard to hear you clearly. Good video
Mistakes, mistakes yeah a few but if the shoe fits wear it! The audio is not necessary if you know what you're doing. If you're not familiar with this type of DIY don't attempt it. He could of collected the spurts of brake fluid but he didn't and yeah it's better to start at the farthest brake away from the master cylinder because the farthest away trapped air may not be all removed.😮 The video was good enough for me and now I have brakes that work fairly good. 👍
I was always taught start closest and work away. Everybody had a different way, they all seem to work.
Looks to be a 351 V6, not a 401 V6. Check the block in front of the right cylinder head on the head gasket surface, it should have the number there, it starts with the displacement.
Love this video thank you for it. & I love your dad telling stories about his past experiences
You really should view your video after you make it, then you would know that you cant be heard in parts of it.
Is it for sale yet. Change the injectors new fuel new fluids filters it'll run.
Wear it that at i wont that trailer
Great video. Most people misunderstand the 5x2 set-up that's in most of these trucks. You captured the correct sequence of the highest 4 combos. The sequence is 4L -> 5L -> 4H -> 5H. It was set up this way so that for highway speeds when loaded, you'd have a few choices that were pretty close together so you'd have a gear that would allow you to maintain maximum speed up hills.
That is a tricky one to get right when you’re in the fly …..
i mean this in the most respect possible, but your grandfather is hank hill
Those were some good, old trucks.
What he's trying to say is its easier to do than explain how to do it!
Theres no good way to explain these trucks! You're spot on, you'll never find two of them that drive or act the same
Thanks for sharing
Hey what did you use for a model to get parts I got the same truck and 5500 doesn’t exist to them only goes up to 3500 thanks in advance
Sometimes the algorithm gets it right. This one of the absolute best videos I have ever stumbled upon. A fellow church member of ours in the 60's got a new '68 C60. He would tarp it, set straw bales along the side, and we would load up on Christmas Eve in our rural northern Ohio community Christmas caroling to the older folks or those who were having rough times. Also, In the 80's I drove a C70 427 hooked to a Fuller Roadranger 10 spd. (I really liked that set-up) doing local/regional work. Well, this old timer DOES go on sometimes. Thank you for this really good video.
Afterthought.....I got a new C70 in '89 that had throttle body injection on the 427. I really noticed a positive difference in the winter.
Grandpa always puts bales in the box and has people ride in our local parades. Lot of good memories. Thanks for the comment!
I still have my Grandpa's '42 Chevy 1/2 ton that is essentially all original. I learned how to drive in that truck Unfortunately the old 216 is very tired and needs a transplant. So it sits neglected in the corner of the garage. Arrangements for getting it back on the road again are being made very slowly. @@matthewbarnes7075
One thing about the 366 BB is once they break, they’re not serviceable after that!
I've got a 69 GMC c5500. Mine has the big V6 it's a 305. I have a conventional hood, and the grill and fenders are different than yours, so I think either the year or something's different I would have guessed 6500 or 7500?
Great, looking Dump truck.👍
First time seeing a 16 speed trans with the splitter on the stick like that. Kool! Love the truck.
I love the tortionbars on the rear acsels
Nice looking old farm truck. Thank You sir for the video. 👍🏼
That's really cool I'm fixing to get a old truck, thank you for sharing!
I always liked the way those old starters sounded.
Gotta love some CW Mcall!!
Good job, I have a 68 C60 366 with air brakes and a 69 c60 427 air brakes they good tough trucks.
Man i hate seeing these old girls parked up they need to be saved awesome video thanks for sharing it
Dual port intake is for low end torque, open plenum or “C-series” moves power band up higher in RPM range.
Its newer than that, look at the grab handles and the lower door handles.
Great video but the audio could be better, love to see young people working on old iron. I have a 1968 C-50 and your correct, the old vac-brake system is sketchy at best on a good day, everything has to be sealed and not even the tiniest of vacuum leaks.
Thanks! Still working out my audio issues, but its getting better
Engine sounds great MB 🙂👍 I really like that intake! Intro and ending music, memes being added... You're stepping your game up! Nice work 🔧🔩 Happy wrenching my friend
hola pregunta me podrías desir un presi de ese camión gracias
Nice job with the water pump replacement MB 🙂👍 Gotta love that iron duke 4cyl. I hope things are going well for you. Be safe, have fun and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
is this the truck Vice Grip Garage had a couple years ago?
Not as far as I know! It's been on the farm since I was a kid.
😃😃😃👍👍👍👍
Great truck AND trailer for the hobby circuit!
I'd say it's a 1972 model, probably late 1972. 1972 was a transitional year for the K100, with KW introducing the 108 inch BBC K100-VIT, entry ladders, and then the low mounted, flush fit door handles.
Don't know why TH-cam recommended this for me but hey, good job. In the future, please don't throw one cam gear at the other on the bench. For an old head like me that's like nails on a chalk board. And why you heating up the teeth of the cam gear? Just do the hub, please. Maybe you think I'm gonna give you shit for how you beat on the cam gear but... no. I've actually done that before I owned a press.
I realized throwing it was horrible right after I did it! Thanks for the comment
Detroit diesel green! 😁👍 Nothing wrong with that MB! Glad to see progress and keep wrenching when you can. Take care 🔧🔩
Very nice truck, cool story! Guess the 292 didnt have enough oomph? Also, when it was bought new, was 5200 dollars with or without the box on it?
He's always said the 292 would pull fairly well but wasn't anything to write home about. Also, it never made enough vacuum to shift the axle well. I'll have to ask him about the price and I'll comment once I know!
@@matthewbarnes7075 ah! I see. Ive always been curious how much these truck were brand new, and have heard it was in the 4-7,000 dollar range.
@@matthewbarnes7075I can tell you, the 292L has a crazy amount of torque, my 1968 only does 53mph top speed and you do need to to the old high-low gear down pulling moderate grades, gets the job done but very slowly I am in the process of frame Mounting a round 40gln fuel tank with electric pump, your grandpa is correct about the vacuum causing various disruptions in the 2-spd rear axle, I've been trying to find a complete OEM booster and master cylinder for my truck with no luck, may have to abandon the idea of keeping the truck going, I just had the 292 totally rebuilt with papers inside and out, the transmission is rebuilt along with new pinion gears and axles, just have the vacuum issue and brake cylinders to go but looks like the brake system is going to stop the project. This truck has a large dual cylinder tilt grain body in amazing condition and the floor is perfect does have a wet tank and live PTO cable not electric.
@@daveb1081 $5200 was for the truck and the box
@@josephcox4319 If I were you and you really cared about the truck (it sounds like you do): - Axles from a TopKick or similar truck with hydraulic disc brakes - Topkick has an electric rear splitter so no more vacuum issues with shifting it Could be a good option, although expensive. Might still be cheaper than getting the old vacuum boost system and all of the cylinders going though
