Backpacking the AUSANGATE Circuit (Cusco) 🇵🇪

This spring we spent a week in the Cusco region of Peru with the main goal of completing the Ausangate Circuit. To acclimate we did several day trips and hiked to Humantay Lake and to the viewpoint of the famous Rainbow mountains.
The distance of this trek is roughly 40 miles and it circumnavigates the 6000m peak of Ausangate. The trail stays above 14000 feet for the entire length. Unfortunately we were not able to complete the entire circuit due to weather but we had an amazing time and the Andes continues to not disappoint!
