There is a huge dichotomy in the definition of art. It seems to be either absolutely humongous abstract or traditional. True art is in between. It is not the vociferous abstract or copying photographs. The great masters dealt on emotional and spiritual levels. They had and have a subject that can start the imagination blossoming. Great examples were the 19c. French and Russian Naturalists. The Hague School, the Barbizon, the Glasgow Boys, the American Tonalists. One has to study art history to become adept to painting well.

I use Studio 3, Basic, W&N and sometimes Amsterdam

I love this! I want to start doing a little art each day. This would be a great way to do a little devotional/study AND do some art. I just subscribed.

These cards are fantastic! I love combining scripture with my artwork and this is such an amazing idea! I’m thinking of doing a larger version of this with some teen girls that I have done art classes with. I’ll have them watch your videos about this first.
