I had the pleasure of writing James Garner a film script, when I worked in Hollywood as an actor/ screenwriter, that picks up this film 20 years later, where he comes out of retirement to clean up the town, one last time. Garner was a joy to behold, genuine, thoughtful with this wonderful way of including you in his life.. Hollywood could take a lesson.

The Jim Backus lines are legendary....but where is Dick Shawn? To me, those two shined above all the other stars.

I love how the first 10 minutes of the movie is basically Milton Berle constantly repeating “he just went SAILING right out there!”

I'm 58 and I'd argue that this still holds up today as one of the funniest movies ever filmed.

As a kid, I had the hardest time understanding this show because everybody seemed too old for what they were doing.
