Serving on a swift boat in Vietnam I always hesitated setting foot on actual ground. The seals and rangers I transported always told me they hated setting foot on the waterways. One thing we could have had and didn’t was this totally awsum music to get a lift from. Awsum

My era war - Vietnam - I try to picture Easy Company as our troops in Vietnan and what they also went through. I was in the Navy 1969-96 (3 active and 23 reserve) and was stationed on the east coast in the P-3 Orion squadrons (VP-49 & VP-62). Never saw combat but I honor and thank all of our Vietnam veterans...as I honor and thank all of our troops. It's a shame, since Korea, that the politicians get us into wars but won't let us fight them while they go on living in Martha's Gardens etc.

Crying my eyes out watching this.

One of the greatest stories ever to make it to our screens. I was in Army OCS in Nett Hall and watched an episode every week. Even though I had seen this growing up live, it hit much differently looking to the brothers and sisters at my side embarking on the surge to Afghanistan and Iraq. It is a memory I will always cherish as I do this show.

My friends grandfather was the lead pilot for the c-47's on D-day, and my grandfather jumped into Normandy. CURAHEE!!

I wish that I couldve met a member to this unit, but sadly I was too young. I now go to my future of becoming one of the few proud and honorful Marines that serves this country. I wish to make the memories with my unit as these men made with each other, their sacrifice cause me to be here today. I hope to honor the legacy that they have created.

Reading Ambrose's book, and then seeing the series (and buying the DVD set), and later reading about the men of Easy passing on during the decades (and wondering could I have been as courageous and tactically aware and proficient as they were). They will never be forgotten.

Let's hope the Ukrainians find democracy and freedom as well.

The worst part of deploying is the not knowing if you're coming back. We had to update our wills every time we deployed. Most guys came home, a few didn't.

My Great Uncle was killed July 27th, 1944 in the Normandy region receiving the Bronze Star with V for valor, and my Grandfather - his brother - served over 14 months in combat zones, I believe first in the Atlantic and then finishing as an intelligence NCO in the Philippines. He NEVER talked about it. They were MEN. Someone keeps slicing these fucking onions.

I watch this series every year. Brilliant story, brilliantly filmed and acted. Should be compulsory viewing as a reminder of the sacrifices made . 😢
