People say no to drugs but do they have a happy life, did they grow up on a shit housing estate surrounded by useless people on a road to nowhere; I've been smoking cannabis since 17 then about 30 started on heroin and crack cocaine but I stopped that but carried on with cannabis and now hopefully stopped smoking cannabis, but I'm still addicted to Espranor daily, you can't tell sum1 to say no as most kids don't understand what they mean

I'm 51 now I used to watch grange hill in the 80s, zammo (lol ) I'm currently taking drug treatment Espranor 10mg daily for heroin addiction, I didn't understand when I was a kid

Mandela effect. I swear Zammo was dead from that overdose. Nope, he was absolutely fine so he was.

If Zammo had been taking drugs like all if you lot are saying then,well he kept it quiet coz this is the first I've heard about it.

As a13 year old at the time, I wished I had listened. Didn't, couldn't take it seriously at that time. This was before all the crack and that. Anyway thanks for posting.

I was 10 and even at that early age this and other psa made me think about everything and I'm glad this education was always there those days

I'm glad I don't do drugs. It's stupid and dangerous and I'm also glad I don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke cigarettes.

What the hell am I watching?!😂 as if this would work nowadays,so old fashioned in it's teaching, as much as I love Grange Hill and all things 80's...the experiment with Kelly George who later player Ray in the show.... I mean, really?!😅

The tory governments greed and stupidity created 3 million unemployed in the 80's and many of these desperate people turned to drugs, this started a epidemic that is going strong to this very day. Now you know the real cause.

And that repeat run lasted until 1999, when they reached the end of the series (16 - 1993) that was then current. As the 17th series from 1994 still had the same opening titles when the 22nd series from 1999 was new at the time, so all in fairness I think that really it ran it's course and was therefore the end of the series that was current then when they started showing from the beginning was a good point to stop.

I'm still not over Zammo's herion overdose and it was 37 years ago 😭🤣

John Craving was a massive coke head.

During the early 80s, I watched the London Programme. It featured two men mixing drugs and the dangers to it. My mum at the time was shocked and I had to leave the living room. Then after that, Michael Parkinson did.a one off show called Saving The Skag Kids. Esther Rantzen did one called Drug watch, and Grange Hill brings it on. Classic episode.

Because of this story on Grangehill, kids in the late 80s completely turned their backs on heroin. To fill the void, in 1987 they found Ecstasy and the whole illegal rave scene started that summer. If they had done an Acid House remix of Just Say No, they could have helped lots of people in the Dance music scene - probably.

The Grange Hill cast couldn’t sing to save their lives but those girls dancing…. That was another animal.

Meanwhile in the states. People are on board the Starship Enterprise by free basing Crack.

And the worst one isn't even mentioned "drink"

I remember watching this at the time ...i was 15 and was so sick of everyone talking about drugs on TV and at school... We were asked to design a poster in art classes to say No to drugs...but I like most kids my age didn't even understand the concept of drugs or what they were or did....I couldn't even design a poster because all I heard was how terrible they were, so why would u take them? ...my teacher thought i must be on drugs
