Our last day on the dock from our trip to the coast this past spring. The kids caught a few more blue crabs and we were able to get some more shrimp.

This might be our last trout fishing video of the year. WNC was hit hard by Hurricane Helene as it traveled in land. Many lives were lost due to this storm. Trout rivers, streams, and hatcheries were decimated. There is no telling when trout fishing will be back as it was prior to the storm in this region. We finally made a catfishing video. Cole was excited to catch one and finally get to try eating it.

We caught a bunch of Bass out of this big pond! The kids were in school so they didn't get to go with me on this trip, but hopefully next time. This was a fun action packed fishing trip. A big thanks goes to my friend Anthony!

This trip took an unexpected turn when we started cleaniing the bass. While cleaning them I discovered the had some kind of parasitic worms in them. Luckily, the trout we kept was perfectly fine.

This challenge only permits Cole to do the fishing. The only thing I can help with is baiting his worm, netting, and unhooking the fish. I am also the camera man and cook. It starts off slow and takes hours before he finally catches the first trout and storms kept blowing in on us. He stuck with it and caught 3 really nice rainbow trout all by himself.

What a day! Things started off slow and we spent all day on the river to catch these. Alex catches a good keeper trout and then the bass. At that point we had been fishing for about 3 hours and that was the first fish we had caught. We spotted three giant trout and spent the day trying to get them to bite. We finally outsmarted one of them and Jace was able to land it. All 3 kids caught some go...

Cole, Alex, Jace, and mustache dad hit the river and have a good day trout fishing and spending time together. We use a new seasoning that mom (aka Megan) saw at the store and bought for us. It turned out amazing and is one of our top 3 favorite seasonings for trout now.

The fish were biting good on this day! We caught over 20 rock bass and we kept 6 nice sized trout that we cooked and ate.

This was supposed to be a catfish catch and cook video, but its hard to do that when you don't catch a catfish. Luckily, Jace saved the day and caught his personal best bass.

We had a crazy idea to try cooking the trout with an actual lemon and jalapeno pepper. It turned out amazing. We saw a bunch of big fish and lost a few at the bank. The GoPro overheated on us and we ended up missing videoing at least one good fish that got away right at the bank.

We finally caught some crawfish big enough to eat! The trout were biting great and Cole catches his personal best. We went with Old Bay seasoning to cook the crawfish and the trout in. That is one of our favorite ways to cook them.

All 3 kids were able to go with me on this adventure. The fish were biting good and we had a great time together fishing and eating some of what we caught.

We did our first ever shrimp, Crab, and Black Drum catch and cook. We rented a house that had it's own dock which gave us perfect access to the inlet. We didn't catch as many keepers as we had hoped, but we still caught quite a few and managed to make a great surf and turf dinner. I know the kids had a great time on this trip and we even got mom (Megan) to participate even if it was just briefly.
