Certainly not a US Mint product! 🤩
yep! Thank you for watching!
I still remember all the HUGE and hurtful LIES LBJ spewed forth in 1964, when he announced that our 90% Silver coins were not going to be minted beginning in 1965. ""Silver will never become rare! We will always have silver coins circulating with these new coins!" What a LYING SOB ! The eternal example of History shows us that, for 3,000 years; bad money 💰 drives good money out of circulation!!! Sadly he got away with it (just like FDR in 1933) because few Americans are familiar with the CONSTITUTION. Which states in 3 different ways that "Only gold and silver coin shall be deemed LEGAL TENDER for payment of debt"!!!!!😢
I know the privy mark didn’t factor in your decision to buy this medal but I hoping you got one anyway. Look forward to see how it grades out.
Thank you Steve, look forward to your updates on this over time. I have not opened mine yet, thought I might see what the unopened start to go for on eBay. I bought two at $109 ea. from Pinehurstcoins early, haven't got them yet. Had one in my bag on two occasions at 7:30 am from OUR Mint when they went red, but had to delete as they went blue before I could check out. Will try again tomorrow.😃
I prefer separate holders, especially for selling purposes. Very nice.
I agree. My Peace dollar collection is complete in single coin holders. These are "bonus". Eventually, they'll go to Great Collections by by descendants, and they'll get what the market will bear.
Well done. I have a 1880 cc Vam 5 in ms65. Been looking to pick up a rev of 78! Working on the top 100, It's a journey.
Right on! A rev of 78 would complement that VAM 5 nicely! And, you are absolutely right...it is a journey. Well put!
Congratulations my friend!! privy or not we still won!. I myself did 2 unboxing on my channel. By the way, nice content. I am subscribing to your channel now, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching, and for subscribing. Good to have you watching. I'll check out your channel!
No privy here. Very happy with this purchase.
The privy would be have been nice for the flip, but I agree: I'm happy with my purchase!
I knew you were going to create a video that explained and demonstrated this coin in a much more eloquent manner. Describing Dan Carr’s creations as coin art is spot on. Well done my friend and thanks for bringing the Moonlight Mint to my attention.
Thank you, cgriller! You do have some very nice examples of his art!
That’s not beautiful, that’s a stunner.
Thank you, yotefan! I agree with you!
Nice history.
Thank you for watching!
Greetings as always great content I have the 1880 CC rev 79 super cd , I would like to send you some pictures .
How could I send you some pictures?
I'm reluctant to put my email address here. Let me think of options.
@@CoinStuffILike ok
Wonderful video Steve, thank you. Got my Flowing Hair medal but haven't decided to open it yet.
Thank you, Dennis! I was supposed to get the Flowing Hair medal delivered on Friday, but now it is due in tomorrow. I'll do an unboxing video. My plan is to send it to ANACS for my collection if no privy mark, and sell raw if it does have a privy mark.
💯 on the take man ! I appreciate the education on this. I have just started stacking not long ago !!! So the finding of Morgan's/ peace dollars has really got me hooked into collecting . But !! It has even taken me to a rabbit hole as you say !!! Lol. Of wanting to find the hidden Gems out here and especially the C.C. and the S.F. mints . Thx. For taking the time to outline the face on the back with the die clashes or cracks . I got a lot to learn and find still, but this hobby has given me a new outlook on a lot of things in life I Appreciate your time !!.
Right on! I'm glad it was helpful for you. Thank you for watching!
I think your obsession with CC Morgans is adorable. Reminds me of a younger brother Carson City Mint who keeps trying to gain the attention and respect of the big brother San Francisco Mint but goes basically ignored 😩 BTW I just noticed you have 169 subs. Nice job. Your channel is on verge of really taking off. I can always say I remember when he was a nobody 😂
Made me laugh, cgriller! Thank you for watching. No CC for you!
Calm down. We all know the first silver dollar mint mark was an O, 13 years before the first San Francisco silver dollar.😁
@@dennisduebelbeis2974 Oh Ya! Mom! DD is picking on me. 😂
@@cgrillerstacker6695 I want both a 1859-S and 1870-CC in AU and XF, respectively. I'd gladly exchange a privy Flowing Hair medal for one of those.😃 If I get lucky!
Always informative, the 80 over 79 reverce 78 was my first purchase that started me on CC collection It had really nice cameo and semi PL .Need the 79 reverse to complete the date. Also need the 93 to complete the set, thank's
Enjoy your channel. Morgan dollars are great. You do a great job with your presentation.
Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed the video.
Beautiful coins
Thank you! And thank you for watching!
There sold out already people were buying 2 or a few with different addresses and other accounts they had.. plus online dealers bought tuns before them selling them to everyone else..
They actually did not sell out in the first 24 hours. They did sell out almost immediately when they lifted the HHL at noon on Wednesday, the 16th. People using "friends and family" address to buy buy high demand mint products is nothing new. And the ABPP is entitled to purchase only up to 10% of the total mintage limit, which in the this case, is 7,500...that's 468 pounds, not tons.
They're all gone now!
Yeah but if alot of people aren't happy they'll send them back or sell them.. collector's will keep them privy or non privy..
@@betod3113 I would never sell mine to me 75k is very low mintage.
@@betod3113 - they'll *try* to send them back ;-)
They evaporated just after they lifted the HHL today at noon. I had three in the bag at noon, but got a message that they were no available when I tried to check out. This was all within two minutes: noon to 12:02 today.
I just got mine today from a pre sale! I also bought 1 from the US Mint. Wish me luck brother❤
Right on! Good luck!
They were still in add to bag status at 24 hours, and as soon as they dropped the HHL, they sold out immediately.
Thank you Steve and good luck. Instead of a privy, I wish they would have made 1794 of them with the dies in the coin format. I will likely check at noon to see if the one household limit is removed. I wonder if Dan Carr would offer edge engraving of the medals?
I like that idea, Dennis. I think Dan is busy with other plans. Right now, he is doing "1933" Indian Head half eagles.
I'm sorry but that's Apollyon...the Son of Perdition on that coin... America is Babylon with an Egyptian system...just my ¢2
They should have put the privy mark on all of them
They should have dual dated it as well, but unfortunately, we're not mint advisors.
They sold alot of them to online dealers etc before them selling to everyone else..
@@betod3113 - They sold no more than 7500 (10%) of the total mintage limit to the ABPP, as they do with many of their products (eg, the Morgan and Peace dollars, etc)
Paying over double the spot price for nothing, might as well buy funko pops
I hear ya. I'll still take the silver though lol
I agree, if one sees these as bullion....and many folks do. I see one as a place in my *collection*, not bullion. I've spent multiples of 100x melt value for many of my "collectables".
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you, Parviz. I hope that you and yours survived the hurricanes ok.
@@CoinStuffILike was a nasty one, but we survived. Thanks.
Nice perspective Mr. Palladino. I have no interest in this piece because of the two reasons you mentioned. Price and it’s only a medal. That being said if I was a collector of medals such as the Dan Carr pieces I am sure I would look at this differently. I do think the limited Privy mark was a smart move on the Mints part given the competitive nature of collectors in general. I do wish you and Yotefan in that regard. Just remember who your buddy is if you stumble across 2 of them. 😎
I agree that the privy mark was a smart addition on their part. My pessimistic view, they decided to add the privy once they started getting worried that the medal would not be a mover.
My Mom always said we had He Haw luck. My brother and I bought one anyway. Gl on yours my friend.
That was a solid slot machine. There was a hew haw that i would play every time i was at this certain casino and it always did me right. Good luck to us
Very Nice Grades, Buddy.. Congrats!
Thank you, TINY...and thank you for watching!
Good stuff my friend. I like your outro.
Thank you!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Thank you Steve!
Thank you for coming on by, Dennis!
Thank you for sharing. I really like the 2 holder. Do. they make a storage box for them yet?
Excellent question, Yotefan! Not that I know of. I make boxes for the two-coin holders from ANACS twelve coin cardboard boxes.
WTG on the grades. I like the duel holders. Didn’t do any M&P for this year due to price. Still signed up for the RP.
Thank you, Yotefan! I think the sales figures are reflecting the higher price impact on demand.
NICE! Great grades. Love the two holder case idea too.
Absolutely gorgeous coins. I like the way you choose and display your passion for the coins you like. Also very nice to see both you and Anacs recognize the superior quality of S minted coins.
Thank you for watching, cgriller! I just realized that I have exceeded my limit of S mint coins. Next time you are up, you can take some off my hands....they'll be in the "trash" bin. lol
@@WilesPalladino You know what they…..One man’s garbage…..😂
Wonderful pioneer gold. Has Dan Carr made the round and octagonal $50 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition commemoratives?
Thank you for watching, and for the great question, Dennis. I have not seen one with the obv and rev in his product catalogue. However, he has used the octagon reverse (owl) imagery in a 2015 Pacific Coast Numismatic Society medal. And, he did do a Pan-Pac Centennial medal in 2015, using the Columbia standing on a globe obverse imagery from a so-called dollar medal that was originally made/distributed at the Pan-Pac expo. And, he has used the SF Assay Office Gold Slug octagon obverse imagery on several items over the years - as was also done in several so-called dollar medals there were made/distributed at the Pan-Pac expo.
Dennis - Intaglio Mint made a 2oz silver octagon Panama-Pacific tribute.
Never Ever attend a coin show without your list. 😩 See what happens when I don’t come along to babysit. 😎
LMAO cgriller! I was lost without you.
Enjoy your channel.
Thank you! Sorry for the delay since the last video. More to come.
💯 Steve. Very nice vam set.
💯 steve !! On the c.c. collection.
💯 to you ! The coins I like !! I'm new and line a just born baby Calf ! I got into stacking 7 mo. Ago . I had only purchase a couple of slabs that I liked cause they jumped out and the other just reminded me of my gandma . Who raised me and hung on to her morgan an peace dollars like it was gold. She didn't have many raising me and my sister . But I remember seeing them from time to time cause she make candy to make extra money and if she got a couple of them she would put them away. So that is why I love the peace & morgan dollars and that is what's drawing me into nunismatic coin's/ slabs. Now seeing this and getting a pretty good volume of knowledge ! I plain on diving into them even more. I did however come across a B.U. Roll of Morgan's and may have paid a touch to much ! But ! I wanted them for my sock drawer to pass on to the kid's hopefully oneday and several other's that I plan on to . Aquire in the future . Thx. For the video ! I'm sub. & learn from an veteran in the field here. 💯 💯 💰
Thank you for watching and subbing. Excellent story. Keep learning!
Have you thought about gettting this graded at NGC? I think you have a strong shot at get a 'PL' designation. NGC has graded 146.6 thousand business strikes and only six have earned the 'PL'' label. Now that's rarity. PCGS does not recognize proof-like designations for Ikes. I think you could unlock a lot of value if you crossed this over as there are no existing Friendly Eagle PLs. Just a thought.
Thank you for watching and for the recommendation. I have an number of proof planchet Ikes in PCGS holders. I'll take another look and consider submitting to NGC in the hope of getting a PL designation.
Hi Wiles! Very nice!! Cheers JJ
Thanks for watching John!
Thank you, enjoyed and learned. Are lamination errors rare on Eisenhower dollars?
Lamination errors are uncommon in the Ike series. I'm not sure that "rare" is the correct technical term. However, there have only been a handful that have passed through Heritage Auctions 10+ years. I have owned one in the past.
beautiful coin. i'd love to see your whole ike collection in a video. i bet it's amazing.
Thank you! I plan on doing an Ike series similar to what I did with the Carson City silver dollar series. (...and the same for a Peace dollar series)
Nice one. Why you didn't attributed to reflect the error on the label??🤔, to risky? And the tpgs could return it questionable color?
I bought this one years ago....likely before 'improper annealing' was attributable on the label. I have not reconsidered re-submitting it, since I do not plan on selling it anytime soon. However, this coin would certainly attribute as improperly annealed, and certainly not questionable color. It has passed through some very knowledgeable hands prior to my own, that confirm improper annealing.
@@CoinStuffILike Now days tpgs err on on the safe side. I was disappointed when I found Improperly annealed coins( new ones) sent one to be attributed as improperly annealed and got the label, then a few weeks apart sent more from the same batch I found them and even darker than the first one and came back questionable color. 🤦🤷🪙🤔🤓
I really like the look of that coins. Makes me wonder why the mint doesn’t do that on purpose to offer a different finish. 🤔
@cgrillerstacker6695 I'm not one to tell the US Mint how to bake their planchets, but If Cheezit can offer different crispiness options, then maybe the US Mint can follow? lol
I have four blue tone 1964 proof. Around Ms 68 or 69 Fs
Excellent! Thank you for watching!
Why does it look like THE word TRUST is TRVST on your coins ?
Peace dollars were designed using a V instead of U in TRVST to represent Victory in WW1
The Peace Dollar was introduced post-WW1. The U in TRUST appears as a V to symbolize Victory.
Nice presentation. Learned a lot.
Thank you, and thanks for your viewership.
