This one's a doozy. Learned this show's drill in a day, thought it was on trumpet but turns out it was a tenor sax dot. Spent most of the show around the saxophones and mellophones. I ended up learning all four parts to the show and playing whichever part was appropriate, based on what sections I was standing next to.

Hitting My Wall | My Anxiety in Drum Corps (#DCI 2021 - #XCM)
มุมมอง 996 หลายเดือนก่อน
Recorded in early August, 2021. This video served as a way for me to begin a conversation about my own insecurities and my fears for my mental health inhibiting me from enjoying my experience in Drum Corps, and a way to springboard myself back into to the activity that I hold close to my heart. In short, I hit my wall. And I interview other members to help me burn the wall down. Please know tha...

Rams.
This was the first season I ever marched and getting to be here for this in person was crazy.
WHY DO I KEEP REWATCHING THIS I ALWAYS CRY 😭💀✊ WHY DO I KEEP REWATCHING BLOO 2011 PERIOD?!!! Yall im so stupid 😭😭
Honestly the most impressive part is when every section plays by itself and it just sounds like midi
Told my son to watch as an example of pitch matching exercise, got raised eyebrows and a double take when they went full bore. Makes me smile and cry every time
:O
My brother and I played with the Kenosha, WI Kingsmen for many years in the 60's era, a senior corps in name, but 10 of us were under 21. Making the Kingsmen maybe one of the first All Age Corps. The best of times the 60's era, there were 100's of corps, some of the best came from the Midwest.
What an angle. Love seeing the crowd go bonkers. I didn't follow this season as I was in mourning due to the loss of my alma mater Cadets. So that little "tribute" to them at the end (I'm guessing that is what it was?) was fire!
I love this so much
All I can picture is a prime radahn transformation
Amazing score! I will say that in that final chord before the mellophone solo there is a double G (G6 in Bb, F6 in C) in the first trumpet. It is harder to hear because of how well blended in it is.
Listening to this on headphones full blast always gives me chills
Can't hear a thing. Good Ol Luke. Worst acoustics in the world Only the 50 to 40 region works. And very well. Everything else is horrendous.
0:51 Those people screaming what sounded like “sia” right when it got quite were behind me in Atlanta and I think it goes so well with the show
They’re screaming SUTA, which is the corps’ acronym and saying. I think the first time the crowd yelled it during a show was in 2003 in the closer
Best show on the field. This is one of a few that I could watch time and again. Great job Phantom!!
It was so loud there with the crowd 😂
These are the camera angles I want, not pit members during crown sets (sorry pit members, Allentown was a travesty)
0:52 THAT SUTA!!! Made that drop 10x more better!!!! still surprised they didn’t get 3rd, but at least they won phan favorite!!!
What’s Suta mean?
@@andrewm.8228 Its their slogan/motto. Bluecoats has BLOO, Mandarins have OTK, Compared to other corps slogan “SUTA” is a bit more complex. “SUTA” is PR’s motto, but it is a secret acronym by the corp, and fans have adopted it as PR’s cheer. The true meaning of SUTA is only known by people who’ve marched, and it’s meaning is only fully understand after so. There’s speculation as to what it truly means, but I won’t get into that out of respect for the corp.
@@SinsterStrange Thanks
I thought Bluecoats’ motto was six words
@@evanmnichproductions Yeah it’s both, “bloo” just came to the top of my head when initially writing that comment. Bluecoats has done such a good job at brand recognition, it sometimes just flies over your head!!
I'm SO SO SO happy for these kids and this organization. They deserved every second of that thunderous applause. Amazing corps, amazing talent, amazing show - favorite of the season. Well done, Regiment!
🖤❤️
This, BD, SCV even better n cleaner than the winner. But well, that’s a game.
We didn't watch the same show. Bluecoats were very clean at finals. Especially percussion and brass. While Phantoms show was very emotionally charged its design was nowhere near the complexity of the top 3 corps and the scores reflect this. I loved the show but they and crown were clearly not on the same tier this year as the top 3. And Bluecoats took design to a new level with all their exposed hits. Even the guard who had numerous tosses and catches that had to hit at exact times that were very exposed by silence when they happened. Their show took absolute execution. Which is why it is now ties the 2022 BlueDevils as the 8th highest score in DCI History.
-guy who doesn’t know or care about how these shows are scored, and thinks the most fun show should win
@@carterwaite4665 in that case I would argue the Troopers should be champions. Their show was a blast from start to finish. But complexity and execution do matter.
@@jamesreese4170oh I was talking about the original comment not yours
Nobody was overall cleaner this year if you take all the captions into account. And GE is a big part of the score which Bloo has heaps of. Easily deserved the win
Need more drum corps at this angle I LOVE IT
absolutely
Really, wow.
Love this closer !!
Nice
Those chaos chords im pretty sure consist of notes F To A. My band director (when we do them) tells us to go up or down 1 or 2 half steps when we do chaos chords
Huge fan of this video...but it is sad a tent review can get twice as many views.
nice
How does he still have hearing after that lol
Great!
Personally I liked the original arrangement with the bell tones leading to the push.
Nice
Skip that nonsense and show the performance up front.
Singing???? 😂😅😂 are you serious right now????
As someone who plays trumpet in my high school marching band, singing our parts actually helps us with the actual performance
@BountyHunter001 I just meant that that is rehearsal crap. Nobody wants to see a video of it. We want our face blown off 🤣. I played trumpet in high school as well. Hated singing my part 🤣
Is that a funeral march
ok
Mellophone is the best i wonder how they can play that loud without sounding bad though i cant figure it out
Not a conductor, but a clown…
Goosebumps. Good job.
i loved the traditional casper troopers. goose bumps for sure.
Nice
there are not enough "F"s on that sheet
What does knob turn mean
Matt, the conductor, pantomimes turning up a stereo volume knob each time they get louder.
Is there anything musical about this? The “conductor” gestures are bizarre. Which ones are ignored (redundant)? Is DC about musical expression or compliance to egomaniacs?
Troopers, '86. Battle Hymn.
:O
"Mellophones on that G that was awesome!" Yes! Yes it was!
This is not sheet music. This is SHEEEEEEEEEIIIIIT music 🤯
Blooooooo
