Okland's Day of Service
มุมมอง 4828 ปีที่แล้ว
On September 29, 2016 the great company that Jed worked for and the amazing friends he made organized Day of service at our home. Thank you to all who donated their talents, supplies, and time to make this all happen. We can not thank you enough for everything you have done for our family. I only feel like I've gained a much larger family through all of this. Thank You!

    yikes 40 plus a slow release. 25 minutes with a 5 minute rest is all you need. heck even baby back ribs only take 25 max.

    Don't know how I lived without this for so long! I make dog food for 2 of our dogs th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg (we have 5!) and it is so much quicker in this. Love having the inner pot stainless so I can use my immersion blender right in it without worrying about scratching. It makes potatoes great and fast! Still working on the vegetables, first time came out great, second time I did different ones and they were a little too mushy. Just need to adjust the time. I highly recommend this pot!!!

    I would like to see what you could do with bone in chicken thighs in your pressure cooker, I just finished watching your video of the pork country style ribs and I’m cooking some right now and they smell delicious Thank you

    I've cooked country pork ribs in my Instant Pot at various times. 12 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes 1 hour, 1 hour 30 minutes. They were all dry and chewy (even at 12 min). "Fall off the bone" soft for sure, but dry and chewy nevertheless. I guess that's why they have BBQ sauces filling the grocers' shelves. Haven't tried this recipe yet. Will add it to my collection.

      I know this was a year ago, but I followed everyone's recipes for meat in the InstantPot, and everything was always dry. Then, I started using LOW pressure, and everything turned out moist and flavorful. I usually add about 10 minutes to the time, to make sure.

    Looked awesome....but a suggestion to all instant pot users. Let the steam out away from your cabinets. Wont take but a few times to start warping/ruining the wood. Most cabinets arent made of much more than particle board and laminate. Or vaneer. Point the steam towards the open sink etc.

    For those who are saying it burned, when you are putting the ribs in, don't put the fat side down in the pot. You do not want any fat touching the bottom of that pan, or it will burn.

    Oh my, I made this tonight, with a few adjustments since I didn't have all the ingredients. However, I followed her cooking times and most of her ingredients! This was my first time using my IP and I was nervous. It came out so tender and tasty. My husband and I both talking about how good it was. Thanks!!

    We cooked these tonight and they came out perfect. I was concerned that 40 minutes might be too much, but I got to say they were perfect. The fat just fell away from the meat. The next time I might try 15 minutes as one of your viewers recommended seeing what the difference is. Thanks for posting. ( I loved hearing your kids in the background)

    What size instant pot is this? Looks like maybe 6 or 8 quart. Would this recipe work with a 3 quart? Would you reduce ingredients and cooking time by one half? New to thus.

    • @missjewells5063
      @missjewells5063 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      donna hudec anything works in a smaller IP. Try it for 15 - 30 mins, with less ribs, or however many fit. When I’m trying to figure out a recipe, I use the lesser time, and if it needs more cooking, I add time. Yeah, you might have to wait longer because it’ll have to come to pressure twice or three times, but at least they’ll get right sooner or later, and then you’ll know the correct recipe for your IP and elevation.

    I followed your instructions and it burnt, I immediately shut the pot down, emptied the bowl and cleaned it. I trimmed the burnt ribs then put the trivet in and put the ribs and sauce back in and restarted the program. This time ribs cooked without burning and came out great but I'm trying to figure out why I got the burn sign the first time I tried cooking them, did you use the trivet to keep the ribs off the bottom of the pot?

    • @Thrashmetalman
      @Thrashmetalman 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      mostly likely its due to lack of moisture. Just raw thick sauce tends to risk burning in the instapot I have found.

    • @missjewells5063
      @missjewells5063 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might have needed to deglaze the bottom of the Liner. It’ll burn if you don’t.

    • @pantreus7622

      It is good. I made this the same night I posted my question, but I followed the cooking directions here: www.pressurecookingtoday.com/country-style-barbecue-pork-ribs/ This link was posted by another commenter. I increased the suggested cooking time to 20 minutes (25 might be even better), as the cooking time at that link is a bit short, and the cooking time in this video is much too long. The sauce for this recipe (the one used in the video) is very good, but it was too mild for my liking. I would recommend adding some cayenne pepper to it, which is what I did when eating the leftovers. I don't like things to be extremely hot, but the sauce is just too tame without cayenne.
