DAVID HOCKNEY ARRIVAL OF SPRING
DAVID HOCKNEY ARRIVAL OF SPRING 2020 AT THE RA IN LONDON
It was incredibly busy, actually, it was packed to say it bluntly.
But still, I was glad to have seen it.
All the Ipad drawings, printed out on large boards, are all the same format shown in two rooms.
As Hockney, himself notes: working on the iPad requires the ability to draw and paint. Each work - which has been printed far larger than the screen on which it was created - allows you to see every mark and stroke of the artist’s hand.
Made in the spring of 2020, during a period of intense activity at his home in Normandy, this exhibition charts the unfolding of spring, from beginning to end, and is a joyous celebration of the seasons.
Opening exactly a year after the works were made during the global pandemic, this exhibition will be a reminder of the constant renewal and wonder of the natural world - and the beauty of spring.

Trebah is the wild and magical result of over 180 years of inspired and dedicated creation. The natural spring at the to...
UNUSUAL - RESTAURANT AND SHOP VENUE IN LONDON
มุมมอง 4933 ปีที่แล้ว
This gorgeous South London restaurant is brimming with antiques, and everything you see is for sale. Dating back to the mid 17th Century, Brunswick House is a great mansion in Vauxhall. The house and its gardens once took up over three acres of land, and it’s had a number of different owners through the years, including the London and South Western Railway Company. Nowadays, however, it’s home ...

❤❤❤
Just beautiful sketches and use of watercolor.
I discovered i could follow your wonderful art on TH-cam and its absolutely glorious. Thank you for doing this!
Love this!!! Thank you!
You can just feel his passion for looking…what a MASTER PAINTER!
This is multiple unbound sketchbooks, right? There's no way he's lugging around this monster.
❤💛🍀
👍
Beautiful! I'm glad the king is staying active! LOL I love anything he does!
Anyone know where to buy these sketchbooks? Jacksons?? Ps. Love this ❤

Very spontaneous drawings and almost like a diary.
art supplies heaven! especially those sketch books!
Thank you so much.❤

What a magical shop! ❤
Hockney should stick to drawing; he's a much better draftsperson than painter.
I’m surprised there is no colour as he is a colour freak normally
O to be so talented…
What's the name of the book he uses? So many thick pages and it folds perfectly flat!
th-cam.com/video/QPvn0kIMBpo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CPAKhWGDcuUs1mi1
Nice video. As others have commented _no sound_ Just the flickering of the pages.... _cause_ *music would take away* .... *Audio is More powerful* than the 2d sketches. Thank you
I am so happy to see this. So priviledged to see aaster's work, so inspiring! Thank you for sharing 💖
This is so inspiring. I can never replicate the wonder that you create….but maybe when all is done, a series would let my own style emerge. Never to compare, but maybe I could do something i was proud of. I love your work.
What brand is is sketchbook??
th-cam.com/video/QPvn0kIMBpo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6NI1ccx4v1Q5onXH
👏🏻✌️👍🏿
What I noticed is that the sketchbook is used as a sketchbook and not as a sketchbook/paperworks to be sold as single pieces, by drawing on both the front and the back of each sheet there’s a decision to keep these as a sketchbook. The effort and details in each ink drawing is sufficient to be a wholesome artwork, instead, David Hockney wanted this to stay as a sketchbook. You notice that he’s in Normandy, France, that he’s sketching in ink using an ink pen, paintbrush, and using coloured inks or adding watercolor here and there, there’s a personal direction in a sketchbook. Excellent
Dullwitch.
he's been breathing in toxic chemicals & smoking for years and still kickin while turning out gems; "Don't Try This At Home"
I appreciate your style very much.
My pleasure!
Lots of Van Gogh influence in the way he drew his rough sketches.
Wonderful to be able to meander through these like this. Thank goodness for the .25 playback speed option.
Wow!!!'Yhis video was so very "Inspirational", I have the feeling as if I'm on a tour . Its something because it brings an individual close to him as if we're having this conversation. DAVIDHOCKNEY IS A VERY TALENTED AND GIFTED MAN ALIVE TODAY,AND THERE ARE A FEW MORE ,BUT HE DEFINITELY STANDS OUT FROM THOUSANDS.
Does anyone know what pen and watercolors he's used here?
After you watch this, find a video that shows some of R Crumbs sketch books, you can't imagine the level of sketching in Crumbs books compared to these.
It depends what you mean by “level.” Crumb is in love with crosshatching, and still feels his drawings with what others might see as a necessary detail that doesn’t say much. Hockney often focuses in this sketchbook on the essentials and on subtlety.
What a store!
Love this so much - I’m glad there isn’t any distracting music
Are those sketches made with watercolors? Or ink? What did he use? They are beautiful!😍
Wow. What a tour de force. Also, just wondering...Does anybody know how the binding was done for this book? Impressive that it appears stitched and yet lies perfectly flat.
th-cam.com/video/QPvn0kIMBpo/w-d-xo.html
Merci infiniment ! Merveilleux... 😀🤩.
Thank you for the tour with all the names. I spotted one with the incorrect name. Astilbe Pink Spotlight is a filipendula.
This was wonderful. Great to watch for inspiration before I start my creative work.
What sketchbook is this ive looked on his website and can't find it?
Thank you for your video and it's made me want to visit but I realise one needs to choose the timing carefully during the flowering season.
Having been there are few times, I can verify that spring is an amazing time as they have so many rhododendrons and azaleas, as well as the summer, when the valley is full of hydrangeas, but I believe there is something different to see whenever you go. It is a very special place.
Мило для общественных пространств, а не для своего сада!Там куда пришел, погулял и ушел!
You can create this in a small garden too. Just plant less 😊
Особенно в окружении заборов и домов!
Очень ограничена декоративность у такого пространства!
Does anyone know what type of sketchbook that is?
I have posted a video of his sketch book shop too 😊
It's acid free A6 /130mg
@@ArtGardens That’s awfully convenient. Thank you my good man. Too bad the shop is in the UK. I wonder if they ship out to canada… 🤔
@@ArtGardens oh nvm. I see on your post they do make to order as well. Beautiful. Thanks a mill!
Brilliant artist~~
Thank you 💕 for sharing
I like the "Smoking kills" on the pack of cigarets lying there😁
My brother has 4 hives in his Hastings garden.

proof again to anyone, especially younger drawers, that you don't have to crowd and pack every inch with copyrighted characters and logos...simple beauty and visual interest in everyday work and walks
