Thanks for bringing our attention to this reissue. I have the original 1986 album and am getting back into Vinyl. I just pulled mine out and it's got quite a few scratches... I'll be replacing it with the 2012 25th Anniversary edition based on your review.

Nice review but these reviews are to long winded and shouldn't be over fifteen to twenty minutes long and that's pushing it to hold the watchers attention. We don't need to know on each track how far outside, above, in front of or behind the speakers the music comes from at all, much less in feet or the dynamic range in db's of anything. A general description of that should be good. What your hearing with your equipment and in your room will not have much bearing on what we will hear on totally different gear and rooms. Also leave your gear listed in the description so you don't have to go over it each time.

Hi from Australia mate. Nice content. I've only just started listening to CSN I'm 46. The first time I listened to this album the whole way through was the 45rpm AP my first ever AP purchase my system is modest as well but it's the most amazing album I've heard in recent times. I've also got Crosbys If I could only remember my name on AP as well i haven't listened yet. I can't wait. I have OGs of The boat album and Daylight Again.

Do you get kick-backs from HD Tracks? You SHOULD, because of your video (I didn't realize that there was a DSD version of this album), I went there and just bought it! I graduated HS in '77 and this is STILL one of my all time favorite albums (yes I know that no one uses that archaic term anymore). I'm old (er) but my music tastes are continually being enriched from Porcupine Tree to Jinjer. There is SO much wonderful music available outside of the US, but nothing quite like Boston's first album. (I live up on the Northshore, in Gloucester BTW) Cheers!

Wow! I got the latest Dark Side of the Moon and the tracklisting is epic maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. It goes 1. Give Me More Money 2. Complaints Department 3. I'm Right Jack and side 2....1. Great Investment Opportunity in the Sky 2. Sweet Gains 3. Wish You Were Money. Cost $4000 Euro. Fills my crushing sense of vacuousness like nothing you could imagine. Half an hour later though I was back online buying MORE.

Nice vid. But like a lot of successful audiophile remasterings , the original pressings, which in this case cost about a third of the MOFI and are all AAA, also sound fabulous.

I stumbled across a cool way to put bookshelf speakers on stands. I use two repurposed bedroom nightstands that put the speakers at the perfect level. They also hold about 100 pounds of vinyl to display. The added mass really helps in my situation. The floors are hardwood and i have 2 REL T-5X subs for infrasounds that maybe we cant hear but they are definitely noticeable. It becomes quite apparent with classical music. My 18 inch babies are very inefficient (81db) but pump 100 watts through them and they are flat to 40hz. Nice information on the Mac too. 😊

I feel your pain. I tried Audivarna - in principle it is great. However, I stumbled over so many issues I gave up and reinstalled Picoreplayer (now Lyrion) which gives me access to all of my ripped music as well as streaming from the likes of qobuz, tidal or Spotify. It really is good. The setup can be frustrating at times though which is where Audivarna should score. Good luck.

1970 oceanside ca shooting pool tournament and pinball playing Pinball Wizard and Fell Me Touch Me on juke box. i have a Lenco 70, tubed phono and pre and just installed a Hafler 280Xl all new. Just had a pair of Yamaha NS 600a speakers to break in.

Hello ! I have the version that Kevin Gray did and I think it sounds good.TBH I choose this version over the half speed master because of price lol But I do have a couple of the other half speed masters of the Who that Miles did and they sound good also.

I have Electric Mud and Hard Again by Muddy Waters, but I've never found a clean copy of Folk Singer. I guess Analogue has done it again. I'll have to check out the 33&3rd version. Great album review.

As a Denafrips Ares 12-1 DAC … If you thought digital can’t compete with vinyl…that argument still rages ..but the difference now is down to subtleties…. Then again the analog game hasn’t been standing still either..it’s a a great game 😵‍💫 Have a great day 😊

Really like Gilmore, great emotion packed guitarist, but this album is the worst ever. I have a number of his solo albums but I wouldn’t buy this one. For me, it seems certain songs are put on it as pure ‘fillers’, there is nothing outstanding on it. Bit of a shame because he is so good. But that’s life, can’t be great every time!

I used to own a copy of Welcome to my Nightmare. After your excellent analysis, I must purchase this quality reissue from Analogue Productions. I recently ordered the Doors first album from Analogue after your earlier review of that recording. Thanks for your fun & informative presentations!

Mixed feelings about this album. It has some great songs and some not so great ones. It's not David's best solo work IMHO. (It's On an island for me)

I’m not a great Pink Floyd fan, although I do have DSOTM. This is the first David Gilmour I own and I love it, the whole listening process is so enjoyable. I also enjoyed your review and with regard to the bass, I’m thankful it stayed in the background as there is nothing more annoying than drums and bass guitar trying to outdo each other. I’ve subscribed and looking forward to your next outing 👍

I love Luck and Strange! It's kinda crazy that this is only David's fifth solo record. Romany has a great voice indeed, I hope she'll be on David's next record as well.

Glad you're getting value from the HumminGuru. Love mine as it unlocked a whole nother level from the 1st presses. That and all tube amp. Anyways, just finished my bottle of bundled humminguru surfactant, and moved on to GSonic sourced from Amazon. Two drops and I can hear the kettle drums at the back of Love the One You're with on my US Monarch Artisan Stills 1. Sweet! Now spinning my A1 B1 C1 D2 UK Artisan Exile after GSonic and the smack attack on Charlie's drums is spellbinding. All Bills bass trills and vamps are leaping out the Spendors....

Might have been better off just getting the CD for the extra bonus tracks. Not all vinyl is the way to go.........sacrilege I know.

God Bless You! I'm so happy you are appreciating the incredible recordings, composing, and vocalizing on this life changing album of Elton John's.I can never get enough of this record. I talk about it with most everyone I meet - especially if I understand they are into music. I have never heard anyone else's recordings that match the depth and "purpose" that Elton and his band has done, here. And, I would say, on most every other album they have produced since. My brain, mind and nervous system is always DELIGHTED when I listen to Elton's music - and I agree that he is one of the absolute best vocalists I have ever listened to. So much fun and amazement to listen to Elton!!!!!

How can someone talk 45 minutes about an LP? The point is that this album is absolutely great but to put it on 45 rpm is not the original. Nobody needs 45 rpm LPs next time. Please say what you have to say in three minutes. Sorry, but that’s the truth.

I am a huge fan of all AP 45rpm and 33 rpm. I own all the Doors on AP and like you it's very hard to find a great condition OG so this is the way to go

Absolutely. But now, cry later... Collect them all before they're out of print! 👍 The DCC pressing from years ago might top it, but these AP pressings are a no brainer.

I mistakingly sold my originals when I bulk sold many records due to having no space and starting a family. Tempted to get my turntable serviced and try this. £85 in the UK from a quick search.

I just found your channel and I really enjoyed your journey through this album. I think 16bit is CD, tech-wise and I dug your descriptions of the differences between files, I'll go for the best available resolution every time for most of the same reasons you mentioned (depth, soundstage, dynamics). I'm slightly older and slightly north of you (I hear that Mass accent ;-} in Vermont) and I'm also 'mindfully' listening like it's the first time in a modest but above average stereo curated over the past few years. I went 'hi-rez' digital (nothing wrong with 1's & 0's, if you've enough of them) because vinyl wasn't really so great at the start of digital and now the budget 's too slow as I just retired. Boston: so I hit my 2nd year of Jr College in the Hub, that fall of '76 just after that first record came out - I've got that DSD version and you're on point on the sound of that thing. Brad sure sang the crap outta that thing. Tom S was a *huge* inspiration to us young radio and sound engineers coming up. An MIT-Polaroid guy with wicked cool s*#! in his basement - yeah man, right on!

Your video and description of this album was great. Sadly, I’m going to have to buy it now. I didn’t want to. The originals are always in bad shape… I knew Garcia was on this, but I didn’t know Greg and Michael from Santana were on here as well. Crazy!

The Doors catalogue and the Beach Boys catalogue are, in my opinion, the best rock era audiophile reissues to come out of Analogue Productions. The only two conditions: you need to love the music, and you need a decent audio system (it doesn't need to be great, but the better your system, the more you will appreciate these reissues). At $60 each, these Doors albums are a fantastic deal.
