Check your First Aid Kits!
Rite Aid filled for bankruptcy last October. They are not closing stores. This is the perfect opportunity to check your first aid supplies before school starts. Don’t forget as the shelves are emptied, they will be for sale too. This might allow you to add more storage to your home for buying in bulk.

Inexpensive ($1.99) powerful flashlight find!
มุมมอง 1014 วันที่ผ่านมา
Having a working flashlight is vital to everyday prepping, This is a Bell & Howell aluminum flashlight I bought for $1.99 (3 - AAA batteries not included.) It has a zoom lens and a magnetic base. The box says it has a 5 mile visibility (can be seen from 5 miles, not its effective range.) Good preppers are frugal and I always look in the clearance/overstock isles of stores.
Keeping your Camp Kitchen organized.
มุมมอง 45728 วันที่ผ่านมา
Keeping you mobile kitchen stocked and ready to go is important. By using a regular storage box, you can keep all your supplies ready to go at a moments notice. I make a list of the contents with an Excel Spreadsheet so I know what is inside and it is easy to find if I just need 1 or 2 items for a trip. Contents include: American Flag, Italian Seasoning, (Tic tac), Black Garbage Bags, Parsley S...
Keep water readily available.

Woke up to no water. Water department is working on the water line. I have coffee because I prepare it the night before. FEMA recommends you have at least 1 gallon of water on hand per person for a minimum of 3 days. I recommended you have 5 gallons per person for at least 3 day. As you know, water is heavy, (8.3 pounds) and a 5 gallon jug will weigh 41.6 pounds. Avoid the small bottle and stoc...
Use a Sharpie to write the EXP DATE on medicine for easy visibility.
มุมมอง 9หลายเดือนก่อน
Use a Sharpie to write the expiration date on your medicine. This way it's big enough for you to read and you don't have to worry about it fading away or getting wiped off. Mark a recurring date on you calendar so that you are reminded annually to go through your medicine cabinet and dispose of expired medications. As a teacher, I recommend mid-August before school starts so you have fresh medi...

มุมมอง 29หลายเดือนก่อน
How much food do you have in reserve for your pet? Do you know how long your food supply lasts or do you just go and get more when you're out? Start by writing the date on your purchases so you can track what pets normal consumption is. The 44 pound bag in the video lasted 3 months. We use a can of wet food a day; 1/2 can in the morning & 1/2 can in the evening, both mixed with a 1/4 cup of dry...

How much do you spend on your prepping? Everyone has a different budget and if you get a little extra preps every paycheck you will see it add up quickly. Some tips to stretch your budget: Buy only what you normally use, do not buy anything simply because "it's on sale." Make a list of supplies you HAVE and their location. Make a list of items you NEED, then add in what you want or would be nic...
