In general proprietary extra softwares required for media which in default version not included due to rights reason , try running this command in terminal … it will install some additional softwares and then it could run. sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

No I mean ur hardware , ur processor and the year u bought it ... it must be old and the industry as a whole moved from 32 bit to 64 bit processor , most of the software’s and updated cannot be done in urs . It is time to upgrade to a new PC
