Hi, what's your technique to fish with this lure? Do you just let it to the bottom and then slowly reel it up to the surface ? I've just been to Senja, but we had no luck with halibut :(

Halibut has a unique strike and pull, they are camouflaged for a reason, but their fight is not all over the place, like most fish, more of a down, down, down tugging. When your arms are tired from that, you have had a good day.

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

We've had ours for 10 years, and still in love with it. We've always zipped the awning in place before assembling the frame, but everyone's different I suppose.

I was surprised the halibut came up that far to get the bait. After getting the bait he probably thought 'WTF'! When you released him he thought 'that was a close one'.

Great footage thankyou. In New Zealand we use lures like that but we have the tail sticking up, so it's kevel with the jighead hook. We don't usually bother with stinger hooks, just the jighead hook

That halibut looked like good eating, i don't know...I've never tried one before..i bleieve i wouldda fried him up in some granny smiths lard, & covered him up in some of that Old Bay Seasoning, & Lemon juice and Black Pepper, Ohhhh boyeeeeeeiiiiiiiii

Up in the Northeast ( NY) - close relative summer flounder rarely come up more than 1 foot to strike, we need to literally bounce bucktails and soft plastics on bottom to illicit a strike. Amazing how far up halibut will rise off bottom to attack

Thank you, thanks to these shots you can see how effective the two purpose-defying jigg hooks at the head of the softbait are. Because practically all fish hang securely and firmly on them. Will also use it on my softbaits, learned something again.👍👍👍
