Does it got a stock engine or is it modified
@@ricardoware842 modified, but not by much. About 230hp.
I just got a cheap 58 plate 330i e90 LCI N53 M sport and it’s so clean. The kids love it nearly as much as I do. So drivable and incredible engine. Runs beautifully, so well looked after it’s like new. So much better than my 2021 Seat Leon which I had from new and got rid of it because it was falling apart after just 15k miles. Literally things breaking like the computer constantly restarting, wiper motor and washer stopped working despite hardily using it, trim breaking and falling apart. Grinding noises on reversing, etc.
@@BurstNibbler Congrats, that's cool, especially if you compare difference in prices for these cars. New cars are not the answer. 🙂

I love mine too definitely the best range rover I stripped and cleaned my fuel injectors and re seated them an egr delete and took the fan off doesn't need it these are so much cheaper to maintain and run . I also removed my tints off the windows looks more classey but thats a personal thing I can also see to reverse at night now👍
Nice! Yes, these are way cheaper than TDV8 to run. You took the AC fan off? It's risky, because when you run AC in hot summer days, AC compressor runs on very hot temps. That's personal thing, but i agree, that it looks classier.
@carguy0446 hi I took the viscous fan off left the electric one apparently they are only need in very hot countries or if you do lots of towing the are designed to go anywhere mine has been off 3 years never gets to hot sounds better much more room under bonnet warms up quicker I guess very slight increase in fuel economy and performance if I need to I can always put it back on I have driven all round Europe even up mountains in Switzerland 🇨🇭
@thomasmaclennan2176 understood, electric fan is only for AC. And yes, viscous fan is loud. 😬 I have to replace the AC fan. Quite expensive. 😀
Bought one from Scotland 2 years ago that been sitting for around 2 years under some trees in a small forest . Serviced the engine and drove through Europe straight away . Bought it at 117000 now it’s got 137000. What went wrong , air compressor, 1 height sensor , 1 ball joint , 1 control arm 😂. Drove it in summer than back and forth trough Europe in the wintertimes . At height speed it’s amazing 🤩.I ll never sell it .

Great review - I have a 2003 TD6 HSE model in the Uk - the engine is very underrated in my opinion. One of BMW's most reliable engines being the first M57 with iron block and in the Range rover with no swirl flaps either! My only complaint is the engine noise at town speeds - it is exaggerated by the gearbox that slips sooo much during acceleration - it's an American box intended for lighter vehicles so I believe that's why it slips so much due to the weight it has to move. As you said once up to highway speed when the torque converter locks up its much quieter. I will be testing some mass loaded vinyl sound barrier in the engine bay soon to damp down the noise
@@stevek3036 Thanks! I couldn't agree with you more. Yes, engine sound at town speed is little bit too much. I didn't know that gearbox slipping is a thing for these vehicles, but it seems that it's quite possible. Let me know how it goes with the sound barrier! :)

Nice car! Mine has 427k kms. Btw. the chance is pretty high that your turbo is still good. A common problem is the seal between the turbo and exhaust manifold. I replaced mine twice but with cheap ebay ones. Buy an original one and replace the exhaust manifold if you have still the original aluminium one that cracks. Enjoy!
Thanks! I will check that seal. Mine is still original aluminium, but still no cracks. Thank you for the tips! Have a nice day!
Which lsd did you use? Where can i buy it
@@user-X555XX78 i think it was type 188, 3.23 ratio, fully built in Riga diff factory.
The TD6 is extremely underpowered for that car, they only make sense as a Peteol or Diesel V8.
@@Salubrious101 depends on your needs, because as a daily driver it's fully capable of driving from point A to B and faster then underpowered smaller cars. And in harsh winters it's much faster then Fwd cars on the streets. If you want more power, with just 2k investment you can pump up power to more then 300hp with bigger turbo, intercooler and injectors. Good v8 will cost around 15-20k which is a lot more.
@@carguy0446Not so easy there. That GM transmission will disagree with you on that. They are already at their limit.
@@stop_lying_bro true, but i just offered a solution. It has to be fully built to hold that power increase. 20hp more would not be a big problem. A lot of services don't know how to properly restore these gearboxes. I had an X5 prefecalift with the same gearbox and i had to restore it, because it ate itself (previous owner restored it in service which don't what they are doing). After i done this service, i drove 50 000km without any problems and next owner still drives without problems. I drove quite harsh sometimes, car had more power and torque then Range Rover and it was only 300+ kg lighter so pretty similiar cars.
Not with a remap,
I’ve had my 2002 TD6 for 12 years, I drive across Europe twice a year and it cruises happily on the motorway at 130kmh. It performs great off road and in deep snow. Yes it’s slightly noisier than the 3.6 / 4.4 but nothing to fret about. Power is only an issue when overtaking in a tight spot and significantly exceeding the speed limit, both of which I’m happy to forego for the reliability and durability of this engine (mine has 307000 km and runs perfectly.) Over an 1800km run from Latvia down to Austria (mostly motorway but with some traffic congestion and urban driving) I averaged precisely 30mpg. However, the GM gearbox issue is real. They are reckoned to last around 80,000 miles (mine failed at 230000:km a year after buying the vehicle, but I don’t know if that was the original box.) I got lucky, Land Rover in Latvia stripped mine down and reconditioned it for 3000 euros but when that subsequently had issues, they replaced it with a brand new box free of charge(!!!) The issue can be mitigated against by ignoring the ‘sealed for life’ spiel from Land Rover and draining, flushing and replacing the gearbox oil every 50,000 miles which I am now doing. And be sure to give it anti rust treatment each year if you want it to last, which I also do. There’s a vid of mine on my channel.
Hello! Currently a 550i M owner. I've been through alot with her. I bought it in great conditon from a local bmw dealer in my town. 11k. 80,000 miles. Flawless body. No faded paint. Coolant system was overhauled. After 3 years. Ive replaced the valley pan and pipe, headlights, brakes, rotors, fuel rail.. ill never sell it. Ill rebuild the engine again, before i sell her. Thats how much i love my E60. And its really insane because all these newer bmws. I get questions all the time and, shes gets alot of attention all these years later. I did a carfax report. And found out she sat in hawaii for 4 years while a soldier was on deployment i think..then she went to Indianapolis..then to North Carolina where i purchased it here..were now going on 5 years together
@@DakotaWoods-pu4bz Hello! That's a nice story and congrats on this nice car! Sadly i already sold my E60 after 5 years of ownership. I wanted a manual, but since there was no manual cars on the market i bought e90 330i.

How does it compare to the toyota land cruiser pradi j120 with the 1kd inline 4 banger diesel?
@@StevenOyston as mentioned in this site below, there are several problems -cracked pistons, egr problems, burnt out o-rings on fuel nozzles etc. In my opinion M57 is better engine, but you'll never know what will go wrong. Every car is different and well maintained car with bad reputation can outlast very reliable cars. www.enginefinder.co.za/toyota-1kd-ftv-problems/
Not even comparable. Toyota is just a car, this is a luxury item.
@@Goonit83 hard to compare, but Toyota still is a good and reliable car.
Oh thats a good point, this isnt just a car, its so much more. Its also a luxury item 😂😂😂@Goonit83
Range Rovers now are a complete joke in Europe. Security is so thin, you can start the newer ones with a laptop beside the car. Insurance companies will not insure them in high crime cities. And workshops will not work on them, as they have to break cheap plastic fixings as they work on them, and can't finish fixing them! Glow plugs just glue themselves into the engine head, as well as being the most unreliable car on the road at the moment! If you see one driving he is most probably on the way from....or going to......another workshop 😊
@@paulchurch3444 Yes, a lot of new luxury cars are built poorly, because marketing teams, but not engineers are in charge. 😬

Hey! This summer will be new video about this car!
What is fuel consuption for this car?
Averege from 8-10l per 100km.
i wonder why its shifting so slow in manual mode, is that normal?
Yes, that's normal. This gearbox can shift faster after software update, but still, it will be a lot slower than new type 8speed gearboxes.
Second gear week?
Yes, because of the electronics. Dtc is not completely turning off with just push of a button. Common problem with these cars. To shut down Dtc, you have to pull out Abs sensors, or fuses.
Exhaust name please
It was custom made from 4.8is exhaust. Don't remember exact specs.
