Not completely true. At the moment I'm getting 304ah cells(new cells testing at 315ah+), very nice battery box kits with 200amp BMS w/active balancer. Couple of hours labor to assemble. Delivered price at $1800.

So did you parallel the 48v 280ah to your other 2x 48v 100ah batteries ?? If you did, did you make the main + and - on one of the EG4 battery ?

4 gauge cable is too small for 280 amp hour batteries.

I was under the impression that mixing battery sizes (100ah + 280ah) is a no no. I'm really curious to know how this works out. Subscribed.

I thought you said you were going to parallel them to make them all the same 14.6 volts before putting it in series…

Can you give me some advice, you have 4 mixed batteries, I just bought one 12v 100ah battery and I want to build a 24v battery... BUT the supplier is out of stock so I may have to buy a different brand to match it... :( You mentioned a voltage equaliser what can I do

I have two older 25.6V batteries in series myself that I paralleled with my newer 51.2V batteries. I use a little voltage controlled relayed and resistor dump to keep them in balance. But the thing is... that's only because I already had them and the batteries would have otherwise just collected dust on a shelf. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense when buying new to get lower-voltage batteries and put them in series. You lose redundancy, you lose single-unit scaling, you have to add the balancer. It just isn't a good plan. It is far better to scale up a 48V (51.2V) system with 48V (51.2V) batteries. Despite the deal you got on pricing, I would have just bought 50Ah Eco-Worthy 51.2V batteries, one at a time, to parallel into the system. Or another 100Ah server-rack battery. It is so much more robust that way. -Matt

Im Building almost the same setup. Im using the Aims 2500 watt inverter charger 2 Li Time 12 Volt 200ah Plus Batteries. im going to copy the way you ran your Busbars i bought 1/0 Windy Nation Cable and a Victron 150/45 Charge controller. This type of Cart makes any project nice 👍.

As mentioned in some of the comments Temu had some super cheap prices on lifepo4 batteries. I just bought 12.8v 100ah battery on sale for under $80 including tax. I am going to use it as a backup trolling motor battery and emergency/portable power supply. I would love to see some test and tear down of some of those.

So I opened mine up and it was designed differently than yours, mine had foam rubber on sides and cells were not encased in a metal frame

I know it sounds like a silly question, but could you describe how to install the terminal covers? I got this battery and can't figure it out. Do the terminal bolts need to be unscrewed to install the covers?

Pupvwmhb 12v 100 amp lifepo4 batteries are currently priced at 119.99 usd on amazon. Ive got acouple that i beat on and they seem hearty. Might be worth tearing down.

I bought 4 of these for our golf cart. Paid $520 + tax, total was $556.38 on eBay. I charged them using a Vevor 35 amp smart charger. One didn't come up to full capacity properly, so I discharged it a bit using a battery load tester. It charged fine after that. After charging them I let them sit idle for a few days, then connected them all in parallel and charged them again as a group and let them sit idle for a few more days to equalize. Then I installed them in the golf cart, connected in series, to make a 48-volt bank. I installed a 500 amp shunt with battery monitor. So far it's working fine, but I haven't driven far since the weather has been chilly here. I'm quite happy to have converted the golf cart to LiPO4 so affordably. The golf cart conversion kits using a premade 48-volt pack cost $1000 more than using individual 12-volt batteries. These fit perfectly where the previous 8-volt lead-acid batteries had been, so installation was simple.
