Heart Palpitations and Muscle Spasms on Prednisone
#prednisone #prednisonesideeffects #steroids #steroidsideeffects #glucocorticoid
This content features muscle spasms and other symptoms potentially linked to prednisone and fluticasone furoate nasal spray use. This emphasizes the importance of consulting a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and suggests that the symptoms might be due to nutrient deficiencies caused by prednisone. Watch out for the recommended supplement to replenish lost nutrients that prednisone is stealing from your body.
Key Takeaways:
1. Consult a Healthcare Professional: Doctor Megan emphasizes the importance of consulting a medical professional for a proper evaluation and treatment plan, especially when experiencing symptoms like muscle spasms, weakness, and heart palpitations.
2. Potential Nutrient Deficiencies: Symptoms such as muscle spasms and weakness could be indicative of nutrient deficiencies, particularly in magnesium or vitamin B, which can be caused by prednisone use.
3. Specialized Supplement: Doctor Megan recommends a supplement called Nutranize Zone, which she developed to help replenish essential nutrients that may be depleted due to prednisone use. The supplement consists of two bottles-one for morning use and one for bedtime.
4. Duration of Supplement Use: For effective replenishment of lost nutrients, Doctor Megan advises taking the Nutranize Zone supplement for at least one month, with an ideal duration of three months.
5. Specialist Consultation: To address the symptoms effectively, Doctor Megan suggests consulting a neurologist or another healthcare provider capable of conducting tests on muscles and nerves to identify any potential neurological changes triggered by prednisone use.

I was prescribed 40mg of Prednisone in May for a week. Ever since then, I haven't been the same. It caused my body to feel like it was on fire. Heart palpations, fast and intense heart rate, high bp, a pain in the left side of my head, anxiety. I have been on forums and have found others who have had similar side effects who had been on them short-term. It's been 2.5 months and I have to keep going to different doctors because I'm still not well. Have you heard of these side effects?

Tried and True RX. I learned this from an old nursing manual manual. NEVER USE AROUND ANY ORIFICE, ie., mouth, ears, genitals, eyes, or open wounds. 1)Run hot water as hot as you can stand (don't burn yourself obviously) over the affected area for one minute. It will hurt like hell for that minute. 2)Now enjoy a good night's sleep or whatever you are doing because you will not itch for eight hours. You're welcome. Old timer here.

Idk why so many people tell me you feel energized and great because I feel like I'm having a panic attack every 2 hours - doesnt help I have anxiety and am moritifed if the sinus infection is going to cause sepsis etc. I was also getting weird side effects like muscle pain (like I had just worked out a ton) and twitching. The "Embrace Moon Face" photos are clearly a shot with a zoom lens, which flattens the face, followed by a shot with a portrait lens, which narrows the face. I have no idea if the science you are espousing is solid or not, but that photo pair is definitely not representative of actual before and after. I doubt these treatments make your jaw narrower and your hair less fluffy.

What if I have been diagnosed w Addison's disease? I would LOVE to be off steroids but don't know if my adrenals function anymore because I have been on Cortef for 13 yrs and have aldosterone problems too.

    • @estrellasyfrases
      @estrellasyfrases 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

@sixgunsue8 those of us with Addison's disease take a dose that our body would normally make if our adrenal glands worked, so the steroids shouldn't have detrimental effects long-term. If you are having aldosterone problems, I'm not sure that I would blame the steroids.

I had to take 60mg after Covid inflamed my artery. Let me tell you how crazy this drug made me. Insomnia where I had to take sleeping pills throughout the night to keep myself asleep. Peeing 3 times at night. As soon as I took it the morning I had insulin resistance where I could eat fruit or my blood sugar would be 230. I was dizzy to the point of barely being able to drive. If I stood up to quick I’d get completely unbalanced. I basically was drunk the entire day from it. I had 100 percent tension from the cortisol. My heart felt like it was pounding and elevated in speed. I had a hard time speaking in teams meetings. I couldn’t wait to have it reduced. Finally at 20mg. 20mg is so easy compared to 60mg. Can’t even be compared. I know it works but this steroid is evil.

I am on 5mg of prednisone for Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency which means I may be on it for the rest of my life, the thing that puzzles me is if 2.5 mg should be an equivalent to what my body used to make before SAI why do I feel so bad when I have anything but a very quiet day, any extra exercise or a hot day or extra stress and I am feeling bad and if I feel too bad I have to take some extra prednisone to recover.

I have been doing all kinds of vitamins, biotin omega-3’s way before I had PMR in my hair is still falling out so I do not think lack of any of those things is the culprit. Is something else going on? I am extremely healthy active eat a fantastic anti-inflammatory diet for quite some time. I have been taking prednisone since November 2023 and I hope to be off of it by November 2024, so I do not think that’s what it could be hormones imbalance but I’m 68 and my estrogen is low anyway so maybe a progesterone supplement might help.

Zanfel is the only product worth buying. It's expensive AF, but it does have a special property of enveloping the urushiol and washing it away. If you do develope a rash, use fast orange degreasing hand scrub from the automotive department. Then wash with dawn. I do a bleach bath ( best immediate treatment is a highly chlorinated bath/swim), then do the zanfel treatment, and then use the orange scrub with each shower to ensure that everything comes out of the skin

I cannot believe you quoted that retrospective study comparing AE between PMR steroid takers and non PMR patients! In five years we will all be five years older and sh*t happens to us all. I showed it to my doc but she still thinks prednisone is too dangerous for me to take. Even doctors have beliefs about the horrors of prednisone and way too many PMR patients are suffering needlessly. I've had a mostly great year doing even more than before. I realized I may have this the rest of my life, so not pouting and complaining, waiting around for it to go away. Full speed ahead, time is short! Struggling at 3.55/3.25, I will stay on track as long as I can.

Age 72, eighteen months in with PMR yet my doctor refuses to diagnose PMR without a rheumatologist. My husband is an internist with 40+ years experience so he and his partners have been prescribing for me. I take Plaquenil and Low Dose Naltrexone, both very safe. So far tapering 1mg a month. My doc refused to prescribe even 1mg to help me taper, as she has made the risk/benefit decision for me, which is incredibly arrogant. My husband's partner was able to diagnose PMR in the grocery store, lol, and wrote a year RX for me. Your talk was so realistic and helpful! I'd send it to my idiot doctor but I just abandoned her for Direct Primary Care. .
