Great stuff my Aussie friend... I've ridden and raced enduro most of my life and only 16 months ago I was near death on my back for 3 months. Sold all bikes (family requirement😮) eased back in with a healthy scooter purchase lol. Now ready to adventure as they say and have just found your channel with a big Sub!!! Can't recomend enought the Garne sg12 or 22, my mate got a pretty nasty accident at 160kmh on Dakar rally and he probably safe his legs because of the boots. They are very expensive but totally worth it, and man they feel so comfortable after you break them in. Great video, hope you recover soon mate

Brother I ran mostly the same system, also on the 500 and it's really amazing. I think I was at 16-17kg without water.

I'm not sure if you've ever looked at Gaerne SG12's (or 22's), but they are probably the strongest and most protective boot on the market. I've had mine for over 10 years now, and they are still in amazing condition, just cosmetically worn. I call them foot fortresses.. you cannot hyper extend them at all, in any direction.. the footbed will not fold, its reinforced with a steel shank.. Absolute tanks.. and very comfortable too IMO.

I went with a 2024 250 XCW. My buddy has a 23 500 excf and there is a big difference in weight. Even my friend said so when he road mine compared to his. IMO 2 strokes are the ultimate weight savers.

Pretty much what i pack. Only difference is i have a hammock instead of the bivy, and a tarp instead of a tent. After travelling for about 250k km on 2 Wheels, im a firm believer that LESS IS MORE. I also leave the stuffsacks at home, just stuff it 😄👍

Finally a real light packer. Most of them are like they are moving to another country and taking all their belongings. Still don't get why you take a bivy and a tent? Only thing I'd change is going for slightly bigger sidebags and no backpack. I don't like wearing a backpack all day.

suggestion : take your fork seal cleaner off of that black holder and put it on the top of your fork just under the handlebar.. it stays there forever until you need it. no need to pack it loose.

Finally an Aussie that knows what the F is going on, I ride my Yamaha dt175 and carry about 15kgs with everything but the camera stuff, I'll have to get a bivvy bag but for keeping warm, I also have the camp master stove, exactly like jetboil, but cheaper K Mart. Thanks for sharing, I see so many bikers buying big adventure bikes just to carry their sh!t, then the bike becomes too heavy and can't pick it up or just hard to handle. They often laugh at my bike an probably me, buy hey at least I get to where I'm going and I've had a blast doing it. 🇦🇺🤘 I've subscribed

Hi from Ingham, I ride a 19 excf 250 have clock up 80000km over the last 4years. I've used mosse tubs for the last 60000km with no problems. Will never go back to air tubs. If you contact me would be happy to show you some good tracks around Ingham.

What rear sprocket size are you running on that mate ?

See everyone goes on about boots. No one talks about the fact all it does is moving the breaking point from your ankle to your knee. There are guys out there that swear by MX boots, guys that swear by adventure boots as they flex more. There are guys that swear by steel caps. And every single one of them has a valid point. I high sided a bike and my leg got trapped under it with steel caps when i was 15, i snapped my ankle, but if i was wearing proper boots, my knee would of shattered. I have the same boots as your misses there im pretty sure, mainly for branches, rocks from my mates bikes. Boots that dont bust your ankle will bust your knee, boots that dont bust your knee will bust your ankle. The debate can go forever really. Glad your doing ok. Also do not use braces, if you happen to drop your leg down and hit something while your going, you can say bye to your knee!! Watch a video called, why i will never wear these on my dirtbike again.

I live in the U.S. and it`s the way here, assholes leave their trash all over... I was taught that you only take pictures and you leave only tracks... Thank you for showing us the beautiful North Queensland terrain...

Nice reminder video to slow down,I’m sitting here watching it doing physio on a smashed knee and femur I did 9 months ago. I had all the expensive gear on but sometimes shit just happens. Hitting a tree doesn’t help either!😂

But a pair of Forma Predator boots, just like Gaerne but nicer.

Not sure if you have balanced the wheels yet but do it man. Changes the bike on road, well worth it, once I balanced mine once I don’t bother doing it after I change tyres it’s pretty much just opposite rim lock & leave it there

Ah damn mate, I know all too well about not having the right boots in a stack, broke 4 bones in my foot last year wearing Alpinestar Tech 3s, and since have moved to the Gaerne SG-12s which feel much more protective!

As a fellow EXC rider, may I offer the most gentle of criticisms and suggest you slow down a little😅? At least while riding by yourself. All good info about the boots and stuff though, you get what you pay for.......
