Making this Chamorro empanada was easy and glad I learned it so I can always make it for my kids and grandkids.
Ingredients:
Crust
2 cups masa harina
1 pack or 1 1/2 tbsp achote powder
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 1/2 tbsp oil
1 3/4 cup warm water
filling
1 breast chicken- shredded
1/2 onions-minced
4 clover garlic -minced
1 pack or 2 tbsp achote
1/2 cup grits
2 cups water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
3 or more hot chili pepper
