Getting a short list from IIMs is a combination of a lot of things. Stellar academic record is one. So is a great CAT score. Also there are points for diversity and work experience. So give your best in CAT, get some work experience at a good brand. You can get a short list from IIMs (especially the new/ baby IIMs). But you have to be prepared to put in a lot of work. You only have to manage maths in foundation and it won't bother you again. If you really wanna do CA you should enroll now, but I'm telling you this isn't easy. one of the toughest exams to crack. If you are an average student go for CMA which needs hard work too but less than CA. Or just do ACCA which will help you to move out of the country and it is easier than CA too. I hope this helps.

Honestly CA has nothing related to maths. It’s just addition/ subtraction etc and you get to use a calculator. It’s more about accounting and audit concepts along with business law and taxation etc

Higher the better. But I know CAs with 97/98 % who got in

Technically there isn’t. For 2 year program recommend to apply before max 25 yrs. For one year program people from across ages apply starting from 24 years up to late 30s/ early 40s

Hey, I was 28. I did the one year full time MBA from IIMA. The course needs a minimum of 4 years of worked similar to global standards

@anirudhrapole_iima bhaiya is this a reality that iim graduates ( blacki) who are in top 10-15 % of batch earn more than a ca or IITian after graduating or after 2-3 years of their mba completion. Please reply bhaiya please

It depends. I know people who have done it in 3 months of focused prep. But if you are doing along with a job, give it 6 months (up to 12 months)

Honestly you can’t compare them with government jobs. Very different. Opportunities will be there in all fields for folks who are focusing on excellence and are genuinely interested in making a career. So my advice will be to pick a field you are interested and try to be the best in that. Then you don’t have to worry a lot about not getting a job

Currently I’m working in the fintech space

If you want to work in audit/ tax/ finance controllership roles, then CA is good. You can consider doing MBA if you want management/ consulting/ IB roles

@anirudhrapole_iima I want to have own like upper level business or startup or in management consultant field should I pursue mba So tier 1 is only best for that could I take tier 2 also as per selection

You can move to management roles/ consulting. Also it helps if you aim to move up the corporate ladder within finance/ business finance

Hey. I would ideally suggest a full time MBA. But, if you have decided on doing an online MBA, I’d recommend doing it from the IIMs. IIM Ahmedabad recently launched its online MBA. You can check it out online. It really matters which school you do your MBA from so aim for top 20 in the country.

@anirudhrapole_iima It requires 3 years of work experience or entrepreneurship experience, which I don't have. I think every IIM that offers an online MBA requires at least one year of work experience.

There’s no age restriction. You should be able to. For the two year program go for it by 24/25 years of age. Beyond that will suggest the one year MBA programs as by then you will have more work experience

Hey, once you join it’s more about how you perform in the program, your CGPA and extra curriculars will play a big part during placements

Thanks! For PGPX, 10th and 12th don’t matter a lot. The GMAT score and the quality of work experience (min 4 years) matter a lot more for getting the short list.
