I have heard of old-time pilots calling it "Pea Soup"
Better the GOPRO go dead than U Bro. I even still get Anchus just watching guys shoot approaches to miniums. I still do a complete Instrument scan when ya show the panel. I really wonder if these Guys flying with glass lose an alternator belt can fly by the steam gages at the bottom of the panel on an ASR approach to save their butts?
Poor bird is now sitting in Airglades (k2is) with a broken cylinder🤒
Sorry to hear that. Love that airplane
good ole bruce beard.
Good ole ILS 15 approach nice shot of the bridge.
That approach conrroller sounds amazing.
Sick!!!
Not sure why in the title is say ATR as it is a Dash-8-100
Great job. I did my first about a month ago. It’s scary as hell when it’s actual IMC down to minimums, especially on your first time.
Sure it died just then haha. Good app : ).
Shit you meet me up 😂😂😂😂
Good to see you flying!
Thanks Alan. Love seeing your videos as well. I haven't stopped flying, just got lazy with flying videos :) and posting other stuff my kids wanted to see.
I hear ya. I've been doing a lot of flying but just haven't posted any videos for a while. Need to get back at it.
It's ColOmbia not Columbia, you dumb ass Hahaha
Kind of nice video if it had audio and you knew what was happening??
Mike Rivera I remade the video. You can see it with audio here th-cam.com/video/_1vQelT65Jc/w-d-xo.html

Best video I've seen on TH-cam. I just past my written and have 23.8 hours in my book, with 2 grandsons of my own patiently waiting for their Papa to get his ticket. Thanks for sharing!
The Cirrus is the best of breed no question. Three models all based on the same airframe. The Sr20, Sr22, Sr22T. Training in one is a luxury. The old Cessna 172 is far cheaper to operate and insure. So they will be trainers for a long time. The 2016 Cirrus has upgraded leather seats, ADS-B in/out (Nexrad weather), FlightStream 210, all digital backups, keyfob improved doors....the Sr22T is 3600lb MTOW with up to 1300lb useful and a 215kts max cruise.
This is one of the most amazing aircraft I have seen for general aviation. I would imagine that the days of flight training in a Cessna 172 are gone forever and understandably so!
James Wikstrom Never. The average person can't afford the hourly rate.
Nice! Where is your home airport?
+DocsOnAPlane KLCH Lake Charles, LA Regional
+FlyingDeacon cool. I am moving to Alexandria this summer. Hoping to buy or partner up in an airplane later in the year. Seems like Louisiana has a pretty active aviation community
Yes we do. I love flying to Pineville (Alexandria) around the first of the month for their pancake breakfast. Maybe we'll meet up there soon.
+FlyingDeacon that sounds good.
Where do you live in LA?
Lake Charles. My C172 is hangered at KLCH
Cool. I am from Natchez, MS. Living in KY now. Really enjoy your videos. Safe Flying
Nice this would be a great platform to fly IFR in..
Wow looks so the displays look interesting. I have only flown an ikarus c42 (the basic of the basic).
Great video!
Nice landing! Looks like you had some beautiful smooth air for the trip.
Thanks Alan. It was this past weekend Nov 2&3 after a cold front had passed through. Probably the smoothest daytime flying I've done.
FlyingDeacon Those are the days that make us keep coming back for more. Flying to KBCE tomorrow for lunch with my wife. Hoping for some of that smooth air!
Nice panel. never flown one yet! Looks complicated!
It's possible that I might have an opportunity to remake this flight & video to include the cockpit audio. In addition to that, is there anything else you might want to see included. Thanks for your feedback.
Did you log .1 hours of actual instrument after this? lol
Very nice! I thought about saving my lunch money to buy a SR22 but discovered there are not enough lunches in my lifetime to make it work.
It's so nice and roomy in the Cirrus compared to the C172. How'd the folks in the back seat like it?
Had plenty of room.
Welcome to the club! Now you'll never have as many landings as take offs ever again!
Never thought of it that way
Wow! Solid five stars...You're taking your productions to another level, there, FD! (..and I know the editing effort it took!)
Alright John!!!
Just stumbled across your channel and subscribed! Love your videos!
Very cool views of the water ways! Love the afternoon stroll through the skys!
Nice video! I like your PIP.
Thanks Alan. I "borrowed" that idea from you.
Your Grandson has the same age of my daughter.... will be posting some videos with her too...
KHOT - Thanks for posting. This is somewhere I'd like to fly some time, and this gives a good idea of what the area looks like.
Thanks for the comment. This was in the summer of 2012. Arkansas was experiencing a drought as you can see from all the brown grass.
BTW - one of my all time worse landings. Ballooned and drifted left of centerline....but we walked away lol
How cool is that!
Looking forward to trying it out and getting video in daylight.
Grandson is one lucky kid :-D
Yes he loves it. He also "pretends" we are flying at home with his toy airplanes.
Even better! Does he fly with you often?
