Doom Eternal is a game I always come back to every once in a while and beat the campaign, fucking legendary game.

I watched all this and still can't understand how people can invest so much time into one game, or multiple games for that matter. The most amount of hours I've ever had in a game was COD 4 back at the height of the Xbox 360 MP era, when I was part time working, at college too, living at home - maybe 300 hours max? Even then, I still got bored and moved on. How do people find the time? How do people not get bored and move on? What about other types of media, TV, films? It does always fascinates me, I wish I had that level of commitment, but there are so many other ways to spend the time, I can't fathom using my free time on Cookie Clicker...

Tf2 really is known for not having updates at all..

I feel like terraria is so replayable because of the different challenges, classes, and even builds you can do. Especially with the HUGE mod program, there are always new mods to play, and if not mods, difficulties (such as revengence, death, infenum for calamity)

How did you talk about grinding and not mention war thunder? You said hours? Take weeks, for a single shitty early jet. It’s just a grind, no real reward

A game can also be infinitely re playable if that's the whole point of it. I have over 2000 hours of Tetris and I never get bored of it, the whole point of the game is to keep going until you lose, and then play it again. And yet so many people are still pushing the limits to such a simple game.

ah yes terraria, my 1.5k+ (regular and modded together) hour played game, and yet my steam library has over 800 games (family share go brr) and ive only played about 10 I want to play so many of them so bad

I play American Truck Simulator as my wind-down game after work. A little something between dinner and bedtime. Multiply that by all the workdays I've come home from since 2018, when I bought the game...and that's how I have 2,600+ hours (and counting!) in the game and I'm closing in on the 3,000,000 km mark on my World of Trucks account.

i got like a 100 hours in hl2 20 in hl2 ep2 and 4 in hl2 ep1 and 800 in gmod

Genshin is my favorite video game since 2020, but I understand your frustration. Getting new characters feels great, but leveling them up is time consuming and repetitive. Fortunately battles aren't the only thing to do in this game. I like exploring the most, it's the fun part.

I really liked this video. Since it's more than a year old you couldn't have mentioned balatro. But it does a perfect job of easy to learn hard to master. I think a lot of rogue likes are also easy to get that unlimited replayability since every seed is different and you could also try completing the game with worse items that actually could be decent with a specific run. With those games (or at least the ones I played) you don't really have to grind, since you need to progress in the game to get better/other items or more money.

To be honest, idk how people can play for hundreds or thousands of hours. I just beat the game and i'm done. And when it comes to games that don't have "specific end", i just play until i'm bored (around 50 hours). Of course i have my favourite games, but i still don't replay them because i already know everything about that game, there's nothing new for me, and there is no more of that "magic feeling" when i first played it.
