@@grantjohnson8396 haha thanks, ya those tools are key. I wish I would have had that Milwaukee ratchet years ago. That thing is amazing. I would stick to the non-Rubicon case. Unless you’re heavily into rock crawling. I don’t see a long arm kit being an issue. That is something I will be doing in the near future.

@@JamesBrown-ox8vz the front settled about 1”. So lost that in up travel. If you would like to correct that, you can use the front coils from a JT Gladiator diesel. They have a heavier spring. This will be the route I take when I correct the sag in mine.

@@TheMuscelBoy Beadlocks allow you to air your tire down to single digits with your tire falling off the wheel. Or popping a bead. I’ve had them down to 2.5 lbs in snow, which works great. Allows for a bigger footprint, to stay on top of the snow. High horsepower rigs have them to stop the tire from spinning on the wheel.

@@TheMuscelBoy the Ram hemi has 395 with the active runner valve. Mine is an LX hemi. Don’t doesn’t have the runner valve. From what I’ve read, the runner valve gets 15 hp over the Lx. So that puts it at approximately 375-380 ish. I am going to get it tuned in the near future. I will be doing a before and after video on that. So we will see!

@@XKJeepin no I did not. I used the Hotwire Auto harness and computer. Everything works seamlessly.

Yes, great kit. All plug and play. With a few wires that had to be spliced into the C3 main harness plug.

On the ECU, do you know what they don’t the ECU in order for your factory key to work on the ignition and did the update the VIN to your jeeps VIN? Your swap was one of the best I seen. I didn’t see if yours had a DBW or DBC.

I’ve asked Todd @JSS if they sell a complete kit with the computer flashed, transmission tapped and any other modifications that need to be done.

I notched the 4 holes on top of the grille support about 3/8-1/2” to tilt the grille forward. Then tighten them back down. I forgot to add that in the video.

I figured with WK water pump and accessories there wouldn't be any clearance issues. I have the same motor, 2020 Durango, I scored the transmission from the same vehicle. thanks for your videos. particular the part numbers. great asset.

@@shaunforgacs6296 when doing the aftermarket v8 swap radiator and Camaro fan there are no clearance issues. That can’t be said with the stock fan assembly and radiator. I was expecting this to be the case, using the stock setup. All Jeeps vary slightly in the engine compartment. Some will have minor clearance issues, some will not.

Yes the high pressure side on the gear box is 18x1.5 and the return side is 16x1.5. The threads on the Mopar pump that I posted in the Hemi walk around video is 20x1.5 thread pitch. The parts are found at your local hydraulic shop. For myself, it was Al’s Hose and All. I’m in Canada.

@JKB_OFFROAD_olllllllo sorry I didn't clarify I was referring to the fitting on the pump side of the reservoir. It's one of the last pieces I need to start putting the front back together. It kinda looks like an ac fitting.

The fitting I used for the reservoir came off an AC pump. That can also be found at a hydraulic shop. As far as the OEM part number, I’m not sure.

@@Marktwain0241 the fitting I used for the reservoir was originally cut off a high pressure ac line at a salvage yard. To convert an ac pump to an onboard air compressor for my 3.8l.

I knew it was going to be loud lol, But I wasn’t anticipating it to be that loud. The video doesn’t do it justice.

I didn’t like the angle of the motor in the top location. My exhaust manifolds were too close to the firewall. Also found the bottom holes clearances the firewall a bit more behind the heads. Every Jeep is slightly different, so you kinda just have to play around with what works in your situation.

I would contact Liz with Jeep Speed Shop or Chris from Hotwire Auto. My Jeep is the 2007-2011. I don’t want to give you any wrong information as all my research was for my specific year. Sorry for the delay, I missed this comment.

My transmission came from a 2017 Ram. It came with the 4x4 adapter.

Hotwire harness was flawless. As you will see in the next video. I used the Hotwire harness simply because of cost. Hotwire uses used computers. And the cost is half the price of JSS’s new computers.

I was looking for the highest output pump on the Sanden website. Found the part number, then cross referenced it on the Mopar parts list and that one came up.

I see some content channels doing a reference back to previous video's to help the sub's quickly go to it. It's as simple as a link in the comments section. Just thinking out loud for you, your series are very good and the information is direct with good coverage on the process you went through. I've watch to many video's on this process with both Hemi and LS ... Hence the reason I'm on the fence still and I have a 2015 Rubicon so I am leaning Hemi ... but cost right. Thanks again

Not a problem. I will definitely go into a detailed breakdown in the wrap up video. Thanks for your input! I would personally go Hemi. All parts are Mopar part numbers. And the simplicity of the swap is just that, simple. You’re only adding the one TCM for the 8 speed. I was also on the fence with a Turbo LS. But Jeep Speed Shop and Hotwire Auto have the Hemi swap dialled.

I purchased my wiring kit and all Jeep Speed shop components through Hotwire Auto. He sells JSS parts. He just doesn’t advertise it. Which included: 5.7 wiring harness 8 speed kit (Harness and TCM) Motor mounts Steering relocation bracket B-Plate and shifter floor plate. If you want tap shift to work, you need to take the computer out of your 8 speed transmission by removing the oil pan and valve body. Send it to JSS so Liz can flash it with a charger tune. I’m not sure if Chris offers that service. I didn’t think to ask at the time. Wouldn’t hurt to ask him while you are ordering your parts. Hope that clears things up. Good luck!

JSS will flash your transmission computer for free. You just have to pay for shipping and have a return shipping label attached.

I explain this in the next video. But I chose that route for the guys just doing a rebuild on the 3.8l. But yes, It would have been much easier to pull the whole assembly at once.

I heard you mention that but wasn’t sure if there was another reason. Good idea as I don’t think there are alot of videos of just pulling the 3.8L alone!

Yes I did. With the driveshafts still attached to the transfer case and transmission, it won't roll anywhere. But once the driveshafts are removed, it will be free to roll on an uneven surface. Put something behind the wheels to stop it from rolling. But if you're just doing a rebuild and not touching the driveshafts, you have nothing to worry about. Good luck!
