I’ve decided to go for a second procedure for mid scalp and reducing the size of the crown. I was a Norwood 7 and I’m quite happy with the results of the first procedure and I’m only 6 months into it as of Dec. 26. . My second procedure is scheduled for Feb. 14 2025. Your videos have played a big roll in my decision to do these procedures. Thanks!

At the risk of sounding like I'm on commission or something; I think Doctor Ball is the best surgeon in the UK and truly world-class, firstly because of his artistry, the higher join at the lateral humps always looks much more natural....but also his ethics. The result here is a wonderful result, a result that will age so much better than what many or most surgeons would do....but I think the 'less is more' approach shown here might actually lose him some (misinformed) young customers who will find it underwhelming and will want agressive/unrealistic hairlines, which again is a testament to his ethics that he chooses to post this information.

For someone like myself who is 41 and has been gradually receeding/thinning since I was 21 (currently norwood 3), would a scalp inspection via this kind of consulation give a fairly reliable picture how how my hairloss is likely to progress over say the next 20 years? I guess I'm asking if its easier to predict future loss in a 41 year old than a 21 year old.

Absolutely. FUT is a good option for many women because the scar tends to be very well concealed and it avoids the diffuse donor thinning from FUE. Women with diffuse thinning or unstable, progressive hair loss may not be good candidates for hair transplant surgery. The best female candidates tend to be those with well defined, localised hair loss in their hairline or frontotemporal recession.

I would imagine that women who are a candidate have FUT performed to keep the donor hair of the scalp looking full? What women make poor candidates in terms of hair loss? Thanks for sharing.

Dr ball, would you consider a hair transplant to someone who is Norwood 2, age 32? Thick hair all around, just needs a tad bit thickness at the front.

Stunning work although I would expect nothing different from Dr Ball. Quick question - for someone who is thinning but not completely bald in their frontal third, can Dr Ball transplant hair in areas that still have a fair amount of hair in them but are thinning? Does it make sense to wait until the thinning has reached a certain level before attempting transplants in those areas for fear of transecting follicles that are already there?

I have been researching hair transplants on and off for over a decade as my hair has continued to reccede. I can say in all honesty Dr Ball that you are the most skilled and ethical surgeon I have found to date. I love your conservative approach - these really are hairlines 'for life'.

Wow even scar is brillant I reckon if he had sides and back cut shorter it would make top look thicker but its a personsl choice But whatever its a superb natraul look

No disrespect, but you could of had a much better hairline and coverage in a single session, I had 2300 grafts and a much nearer lower hairline

We should not use FUT in 2023 as it is outdated; instead, we should opt for FUE.

superb results.. my hairloss journey has been very slow, 8 years from going N1-N2, so likely will be seeing you Dr ball, if my hair does get worse

I've just shaved my head with a pretty similar hairline to the one he ended up with - gone back a bit each side at the front, thinning on the back. That's an interesting perspective! I was considering a transplant and still am, maybe. I don't actually mind the completely shaved with a beard look too much though.

Looks fantastic. Do revise old FUT scars? I have one from an FUT operation in 2011. Its very noticeable if you go a low grade cut. Also do you make use of the hair if you revise the scar? Thanks
