when do we know to use open circuit or assume high and low of ac in? my professor does open circuit in most cases especially with mosfet or is that for mosfet only
Can you please clarify the use of open circuit? do you mean when there is no any voltage applied to the input terminal?

@@BBoysAndTrickers In MOSFETs and FETs, since the gate terminal doesn't draw any current (we can neglect the very small current to the gate) , then we can assume the the gate terminal has zero voltage when there is no voltage applied to the gate.
