Thank you! Merry Christmas to you as well. I have to say, BA was surprisingly good for short haul. I haven't flown them long haul which is where they seem to have the bad reputation (especially up front). I'll try and pump out a few more videos next year :)

First of all, thank you for watching and commenting. Regarding some of your points: - From my experience on other airlines, it is fairly common for the crew to assist in converting the seat into a bed for you. Of course, I am able to do it myself and am happy to do so, but when passing crew don't even bother to say anything it's an indicator of their service orientation. - Food on board can actually be pretty good... I've had some pretty unreal on board meals (even on Qantas believe it or not). When Qantas talks up their Business Class dining experience online, you would expect some sort of attention to detail in the execution. I've had plenty of steaks on planes. I don't expect steak house food, but the steak on this flight was literally inedible and that's not hyperbole. It's important to note that every flight is different and someone else's flight experience may be better. However, I'm simply documenting what happened on my flight and the harsh reality is that Qantas is a pretty average business class offering with no defining x-factor or USP. Some people mistake this as saying it's "bad" but I mean it is more par for course, rather than outstanding.

@ I just need a decent meal, comfortable space to stretch out & sleep. Qantas can’t be worse than BA business class. I also appreciate have a lounge to hang out ahead of departure & a shower on arrival in Sydney.

@@Retiredtraveler1961 I've never bothered with BA long haul - the seat looks terrible and even now, we're not guaranteed the new Club World suite down here. I'm not sure where you're based, but starting in Aus we have plenty of other good options if we want to get to Europe.

The A350 has definitely lifted the experience. I flew the A330 on the way back to NAN and it's definitely a previous generation business class seat. Thank you for watching :)

Yes, there was lounge access. When I filmed this I was allowed into the Air France lounge.

Did you check in at an Economy section or the Business/Priority queue? I think they were allowing people to check in normally for Business but not for economy (from what I could tell anyway). It would be interesting to know the last time this A330 went in for one of the major checks that involve taking the interior apart. It had definitely seen better days... Did you have much money left on Suica? I only topped up around $10 at a time just to avoid much excess balance. Thank you for watching and commenting :)

@@LeisureFlyer Had about 3500Y left over 3 cards, spent some in that shop right near the Qantas checking. There was one nik nak shop towards the gate where it seemed like everyone was buying whatever over priced junk to fnish of their yen. We were economy. I think also worth mentioning, on arrival in Sydney. Customs staff do not care much for quarantine checks on passengers from this flight.

Ouch that's quite a lot to burn through! I rarely have anything to declare so quarantine isn't much of an issue most of the time. One trick I would say is to look at which exit has a shorter queue.

Believe it or not, that meal was actually better than the food I had on the way over from Brisbane to Tokyo...

@@LeisureFlyer the fatty meat looked awful. The other meal must have been worst. I had a four hour delays Canberra to Melb over the weekend. No aircraft available. It's a joke.

@@Nae395 The other meals were pretty bad lol Sucks about the delay, what happened to the inbound aircraft? 4hr delay + travel time / wait time at airport etc.. almost better to drive. If only we had proper rail options in Aus.

@@LeisureFlyer it was the indigenous green new A220 not sure the issue but day before engineer had to reset something on same aircraft mate

A few million towards fleet and staff could be well spent to improve everyone's experience... Let's see how they go moving forward with the new CEO.

Trust me, I would have been far less enthusiastic about an overnight flight... Day flights in economy are much easier to tolerate IMO. I think the QF service to DFW is the only afternoon departure from Sydney. It's annoying because both ways, you arrive in the morning and then can't check in to a hotel for ages. At least coming back to Aus, I can just go home, but I have an upcoming flight to LAX which lands at 6am but check in isn't until 4pm :/

At the time of booking, QF was a more cost effective option, but next time I'd definitely try one of the Japanese airlines instead. Thanks for watching :)
