Powerful lyrics about a day that still resonates in the present generation. If it happened today would things be the same? Unfortunately no. The current generation are pampered and comfortable. The 20 year olds of today couldnt face the horrors that the men of '44 did. Those men willingly sacrificed themselves for a better future. Todays generation are not fit to lace the boots of those heros.

last few days the words "farther on" kept popping up in my head and couldnt put a finger on where those words were coming from. I even started thinking well maybe i started to write a song with those words..no, that wasnt it. so i looked it up and there it was...i listened to it and i mean really listened. words cant describe the deep spiritual meaning God gave to me/us/everyone in this song. pretty cool

Thanks I finally learned how to spell booger

Does anyone know of a legal way to buy this song? I heard it on the radio last summer and I cannot find it on iTunes, Amazon or any of the others. Apparently it was a chart-topping single. Where? No, I don't want to buy the sheet music. I want an actual MP3 download that I can listen to. This man gave up his childhood to give us freedom, and I can't even pay the 79 pence to hear him tell his tale through song. And it is such a beautiful song! It's honestly brought me close to tears a couple of times. If it's only available here on TH-cam, then that's a shame.

This song burned in my heart as a new believer (1988 it all began) and it speaks to me today...it's a sometimes dark on this path...He still listens no matter how far you have strayed...God is good...
