What is your rationale behind suggesting it was a chemical reaction chamber?

To me the rock is upside down, what we see at the top is the stone lock, maybe it is a head or an animal. Its one part of something bigger. The smooth surface would be sitting on another surface. Or instead maybe there was something else on top of it that would work too

Just look at the preparation that they did to prepare the surface prior to smoothing process (the grooves that go up and down and the smaller intersecting cut grooves going left to right ) One could conclude that they are (were) intending to finish that stone to be as flat as the rest of the project but to me, looks like it was never finished

You guys are nuts and you don't know anything about Japan or their history. That is far from precision stone cutting. I lived there for years, there are tons of massive stones cut there and Japan has had excellent metal for a very long time. I also went to college for archeology, I admit some stuff in Egypt is far to precise and hard to be carved they way they claim but this is totally normal. Stop feeding the crazies.
