Great setup! What do you use for filtration?
Right now, sponge filters from aquarium Co - op. Less electricity required just need to run air. I currently do that with two tetra whisper 60s with gang valves into the different aquariums. just did a feeding, and moved some fry from red blonde adult tank into a fry tank. Able to do all that fairly quickly and without much fuss. I had as setup in the past, it just was very cluttered and was not fun to try and do things, this is fun... organized... at least for now. heh
Do you trade them in at a local fish store?
yeah one of the stores is pretty good about taking in local folks fish, if they are of high quality they'll give credit about... 1/5th of sale price. So if they try and sell for $10 a pair, they'll give $2 a pair. They used to take even my really messed up ones genetically and sell as feeders... right now, i have enough tank room to continue raising the fish. my guppies now look a bit different
HOLY FRICK THE PREGNANT GUPPY IS FREAKING THE BIGGEST ONE I HAVE EVER SEEN. PLEASE MAKE A SHORT ABOUT THAT MONSTROSITY
Those were some big mommas they are long gone now starting with another group we’ll see how big they’ll get
@@chadalca17 where on earth do you get them?
@@leonidas13356 Michaels Fish Room. I also raised them outside. they spent their youthful months in outdoor tubs, i think that may have helped a bit. Also i had them separate from males until they grew up
generally I dislike weird stuff like this, but I actually think its pretty cool seeing the baby guppies hide the the plants! What plants are those btw
@@leonidas13356 these plants are creeping Jenny can get them from any place selling plants. What I do is pot them up in clay pot with potting soil top the soil with pea gravel then build up the level with bricks and submerge the pot so water level is just below the top the creeping Jenny then will send shoots into the water and roots into the water making for a great baby fish sanctuary and a place for other tiny aquatic wildlife to flourish bringing natural food sources to the fish
I’m in zone nine and it appears to be that anything I do will kill the plant because it’s just steamy steamy hot here. They say don’t overwater them but if you don’t, they will die in the heat so I don’t know what the hell to do with the creeping jenny.
Its actually a leech not an anchor worm
nah it's an anchor worm. thank you for responding
Miskito
Boring
No one asked
Looking good!!!
Ya...they really f-ed that island up...😢
He's little enough to start feeding. He would come to recognize you..
That’s cool
Very nice community tank
Looking good! I like that setup! You have tons of shrimp too!
Lesss go keep posting for videos of this. I’m genuinely curious
Awesome!
the ones born in the bag are over a month old now, starting to show some color on caudal fins. Colony coming in nicely I'll post a vid of them in their current glory soon
They're beautiful❤
isnt this the tornado tiv 2 was in?
I think so yes, the visibility was so hazy we couldn't see into the darkness to see it under the rotating meso, but did see footage later of them being in it near...Ebson KS
They're looking fat and healthy!!
one of the females was struggling a bit after arrival, i think it was mostly stress, was shimmying a bit, flashing, but no other fish were struggling. I started them on live baby brine shrimp since the weekend and the female guppy that wasn't feeling well has bounced back, now i can't tell which one was the sick one. haha. great fish, those fry are growing fast!
@@chadalca17 I'm glad you noticed that and took good care of her! I've been giving them baby brine everyday and they seem to love it too!
Nice video
Nice!
Looks like way too much fish in a 40 gallon which is probably causing stress for most, but I might be wrong
you may be right. I do keep eyes on water parameters and change water often when this high stocked. I don't plan for this to be long term but for most of them to be donated to local fish store
I keep box jellies specifically the yamaguchii kind very hardy jrllyfish but extremely dangerous
so cute
Nice gups
Bye fishies
Looking good!
thanks!
Tub Guppies!
Nice! I was going to make a video on how I've been breeding these guys. They start getting color pretty early on!
Had them out in the garage and it just happened. not much cover out there, so i pulled it out and have it in a small container bin in my basement. I think if I really tried to breed an egg laying species, it would be the white cloud. Just an enjoyable fish. i've had a school since fall of 2020.
@@chadalca17 I think you should! I just got white clouds this year and I'm really enjoying them
I used to get lots of green water in my 90 gallon when the sunlight would hit it from a nearby window. I think a 3 day blackout cleared it up, but it's not harmful to the fish from my understanding. Love the name Luna!
Hey bud, thanks for comment :) It's in the basement, but I do have pretty large recess window on other side of room, so it can get some indirect sunlight down there. The 20 gallon long i have has not developed the green water, yet but it also had a low bioload... until now. This 40 gallon did same thing that happened outside, first water got cloudy more a white cloudiness like a bacterial bloom... then a few days later, green. I'm cool with that. I think it's because I'm running some stronger light (Two 30-36 inch Aquaneat) and dumped quite a bit of easy green in there early on. I know my valisneria is growing and propogating in the back there just can't see it. Yet. Eventually I think the bacterial colony will catch up, green water will subside. I probably overdosed the easy green early - nitrates are low, but... i'm sure other nutrients that algae love are high, as I do overfeed this tank with all these fish I'm trying to grow out. As I heard Corey from Aquarium Co op say, algae only needs one. I've added more of what I would consider high nutrient filters like hornwort and anacharis
Chunky and funky! Looking good dude 😎
so tiny, so cute!
Fish look happy to me!
Hey. I know that shrimp!!!!
still alive!
We're so glad you like them! Looking forward to seeing more of your pond setup videos in the future!
Thanks - first time trying it out this summer. Learned some things along the way. This is where Social Media is a huge positive compared to how things were in the hobby 20, 30 years ago. Can you put guppies outside in the midwest? yep! and here is how it worked for me... etc...
@@chadalca17 exactly! I would have never thought of doing that until I saw Michael's fish room do it. They seem to really thrive outside with all the natural foods and sunlight they get. I'm sure it will be a yearly thing for us too, with more advanced builds in the future. I would also like to keep rice fish outside too
beautiful pond bro
6 car here. Thanks again for all the kind words man! Really appreciate it coming from a veteran like yourself. Hope to see you again soon!
No problem!
Isn’t this the TIV car wash?
MICRO BURST!
WOAHHHH RARE FOOTAGE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
Ya I was unable to spot tornado from my location either I was just west but it was very photogenic and got some nice pictures. I did however get to see the upland tornado briefly.
I also chased this line of storms unable to a lot just a few spin ups but had nice structure out front and then was like 3 minutes behind the marysville tornado and seen a few damaged structures.
Time lapses are the best! Nice one!
Good footage Chad!
This part of Kansas looks pretty. Love those rolling green fields!
My FAVORITE Weenies! :) I love watching you guys chase live!
