From Bicycle Light To Reading Lamp!

After helping a friend repair her bycycle, she gifted me this cute little light. I used it to build her a cute little desk / reading lamp for her birthday. :) Love, Jonanas 🍍❤️
I Made My Own Altoid Tin Box!
I am obsessed with tin boxes, and use them to store anything. A lot of people have DIY'ed themselves stuff out of Altoids cans, but I haven't seen people attempting to make them themselves - so here it is! Love, Jonanas 🍍❤️
I Upcycled A Moka Pot Into A Jewellry Box
Apparently I can't get enough from working with Moka Pots... :) This week I rescued this beautiful coffee maker from the trash, recycled it into a cute little box and learned a lot about patience along the way. Hope you enjoy! Love, Jonanas 🍍❤️
How I Made FREE Ping Pong Rackets
This week, I gave up on repairing the old bike that has been standing in my room for the last four months - and made table tennis rackets out of it! I can't wait to play with these for years to come, and maybe I will even put professional rubbers on these one day... for now, I like the budget version! This recycled solution cost me 0 bucks, and I'm really happy with the apocalyptic aesthetic. T...

Studying The Greats - Episode 2: The Sorry Girls In my quest of trying out new video styles, I tackled The Sorry Girls this week! I love their personalities, styles, and way of communicating DIY in an effective and enjoyable way. They are not appreciated enough for how good of teachers they all are! I hate talking to the camera, so this was a big step. Fun anyways! This is a tribute to them and...
I Customized My Coffee Maker
Love me some coffee, love me some customizing, love me some poetry (maybe I am becoming the guy who puts poems on everything... I wouldn't be mad at it!) I stamped a little, carved a little, and cut some glass :) Hope you enjoy! Love, Jonanas 🍍❤
How To Build A Camera Box
I hate carrying around my huge Camera Bag, and I'm terrified of putting my camera into my backpack raw - so I needed a medium-sized solution to carry my DSLR anywhere without risking it's complete destruction (or a tiny scratch)! Made from trash and scraps, this box is built out of reclaimed plywood (no barnwood or palettes, sorry), left-over spray-paint, some leather scraps, old screws from th...
Recycled Salt Shaker From Aluminium Cans
Making friends gets easier when you gift them your own DIY Saltshakers! This project was so easy and relaxing, I decided to make 10 of them and gift them to all of my new friends in Italy. This is a very good beginner project, and also great if you want to recycle some old beverage cans! I bought these ones specifically for this project, so... no idea if it's a net positive. In my heart it is. ...
Studying Van Neistat: Should You Care About Details?

Studying The Greats - Episode 1: Van Neistat Van Neistat's Channel: youtube.com/@vanneistat?si=tKZoY7CR8mXcMvx9 Van is a Master Storyteller, Spirited Man and huge influence. In this video I explored his style, and tried to study his way of making videos as well as projects. It was a blast jumping headforth into a whole new and different world of creating. This is a tribute to him and a study of...
Rescuing A Knife While Moving To Italy

Turning An Old Helium Tank Into A BBQ With Friends
Sadly, I won't be seeing my loved workshop and friends for the next 6 months, as I am spending one semester studying in Italy. To celebrate our absolutely beautiful time so far, I built them a barbecue grill and we had a beautiful goodbye-fest together. This grill was constructed from an old helium tank I found on the street, and an old school chair. I don't remember where I found the chair! :)...
I Restored An 80 Year-Old Bike Trailer With My Grandpa
I spent this summer restoring and refinishing this old trailer my great grandfather bought around 1950. It was in really good condition, and just needed some sanding, paint and wood. My grandpa got me into making, so sharing this project meant a lot to me. He worked as a metalworker for 50 years, and still teaches me new things to this day. Hope you enjoy the video as much as I do! Love, Jonana...

A Softbox made from a Traffic Sign???
I've found this old traffic sign all beaten up on the road a couple of years ago and, as any sane human would, decided to bring it home and store it in my workshop. I've finally found a good use for it! This softbox light is great for portrait photography, and may help me with further videos as a little accent light. It also works wonders as a reading lamp next to my bed. One of my favorite pro...

i will! <3
I’m glad I was recommended this. 👍🏾👍🏾 I’m sure Van would find this flattering.
glad you liked it <3 thank you!!! :)
To make Van's video you will need: - Screwdriver, with philips head - Plywood, the good kind - atmospheric sounds, of weird fucking nature - knolling, always be - a pen, sticky notes (yellow), and lists. Don't show a video of someone naming things. Show a video of writting a list. A list is an order in chaos. A list is order in chaos. 6. Repeat sentences like they have deep and meaningful quality. Repeat sentences like they have deep and meaningful quality. 8. A camera that was a gift from a long forgoten friend from the years of bliss. If you don't have a camera you got as a gift, a regular one will dom but i use this one. - this video was on patreon last week. This weeks video is now on patreon.
i really dont like philipps heads though! :D but do you think i succeeded in this incredibly important and difficult task? 😌
This is so great. So so great. I was 16 when I first experienced the illuminated switch flip moment. Alone in a garage, profoundly exhilarated and proud, I felt ten feet tall and eager. A life changing moment, to be sure, just like the 10 or so seconds after you turned the lamp on.
So true! I did not expect my reaction to be this strong, but what a thrill! :) Well put too, I feel very honored to have such a sweet comment under my video <3

My favorite commenteeeer <3 thank you frankie, appreciate it so much!!!

😂 asking the real questions. id love to have that amount of olive oil at home. if youre wondering where to get an empty one - i found mine in a restaurant trash, so maybe ask restaurants around you :)
Absolutely amazing job! I'm wondering if you spray painted it black first, and then add the colour- would that have been faster? I don't know anything about this, though.
no idea, good point though! i honestly just had some white spray paint over, so I used what i had. i reckon anything contrasting will help!
Love this!
thank yooouuu <3
that’s the coolest bookshelf

What kind of oil did you use?
its a linseed oil, but a linseed oil varnish. as far as i know, it has the same result but dries up quicker than regular linseed oil :) i just love putting it in containers you wouldnt expect...! :D
My grandfather, who repraired sewing machines was always anti phillips head.
for me it really depends. i love the aesthetic of both, but beautiful old flatheads are definitely easier to find :)

Hasta que regrese a casa el próximo año, ¡back to the roots! :D ¡Mil gracias!
Love this! As always!
thanks mate! appreciate the kind words :)
The story … it doesn’t hit the mark … it looks good but not up there at Vans level
fair enough! what do you think it's lacking? i've been wondering the same...
Well, you can give him a little slack as vans been doing it for twenty years
@jonanas.mp4 it just sort of feels like you're imitating Van too much rather than going with a new and original style that's unique to you. You can't make a video that's like Vans simply because you are not Van Neistat. Definitely keep doing it, though. I don't want to discourage you in any way. Make as many films as you can about whatever you want. The highest form of flattery is imitation, and imitation is how filmmakers learn how to create their art.
i get that. in my defense - that's what a study is for, right? i've tried to go all out to explore Van's style, and i will take some things i've learned with me for my own style :)
@@jonanas.mp4 Absolutely! Keep doing it. Don't let any comment discourage you from cresting your art.
It feels like I'm watching Van's video.
thanks mate! glad to hear that :)
