Another motorcycle travel adventure channel? I am a Guatemalan who has been a Canadian citizen for 25 years. Starting in 2006 I began to explore my Maya Quiche heritage and culture. In 2012 I journeyed to Guatemala to complete my training as a Mayan Aj'qij, something like a Mayan priest. I travelled to 20 sacred sites during this quest. I performed fire ceremonies at Takalik Abaj (an ancient Mayan ruin) to herald the new era, the 13th Baktun, that year. Now, I have decided to return to Guatemala to further explore the people, land and culture that is my heritage. Travelling around the Maya world on my Italika DM 250 motorcycle, Lady Kawoq, I will introduce you to the Maya people, their food, their culture, their spirituality and much more. Join me in this great adventure. I hope you enjoy it!
Exploring Tulum Maya Ruins
I'm heading back down the coast of Yucatan from Cancun to Tulum. This is an amazing site built on high cliffs by the sea. There are no words to describe the beauty of this place. I hope you experience some of that beauty as you watch this video. Later the same day, I'm travelling to Coba, another important Maya site; but you'll have to watch the next video for that!
See you on the road!

A long day's ride: 380KM from Chetumal, MX to Cancun, MX
มุมมอง 5316 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Lady Kawoq goes into the shop to have the damage I did on the road to Lamanai repaired. Then, the next day I hit the road again, travelling from Chetumal to Cancun. The whole road seems like it's under construction! I hope you enjoy watching. If you do, please like and subscribe. Next time, we're heading to the Maya sites of Tulum and then Coba as we make our way west to Valladolid.
Mission failed. My trip to Oxtankah, Quintana Roo, Mexico
มุมมอง 5414 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today I visit the Maya site of Oxtankah. I am very disappointed when the site turns out to be blocked off and closed to the public. Well, that's how it goes sometimes, I guess. But all is not lost; I found something else to do today!
Lost at the border of Belize and Mexico
มุมมอง 38221 วันที่ผ่านมา
Oh what an adventure trying to get into Mexico from the Belize side at Corozal. This is my first foray into Mexico and I'll be looking for a hotel in Chetumal on the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo. This is actually less than 20km from Corozal (if you travelled a straight line) but it seems a world away. Lady Kawoq will be visiting the repair shop soon, too. We're getting ready for a great adve...
I visit the last Maya pyramid still standing in Corozal, Belize.
มุมมอง 12128 วันที่ผ่านมา
I have arrived at Corozal, Belize near the border with Mexico. We'll take a short tour through the town and then visit the Maya ruins at Santa Rita. This was once an important site. In fact, this was probably the city first named Chetumal (Chactemàal in Yucatec Maya), that was the capitol city of a Maya state covering a large part of modern-day Quintana Roo and the northeastern part of Belize. ...
Disaster on the road to Lamanai Archaeological Reserve, Belize
มุมมอง 102หลายเดือนก่อน
Well, today I'm trying to get to the Lamanai Maya site. Things don't go quite as planned. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the entire site but I hope you'll enjoy what I did get to see. After this, I'm heading toward the Mexican border, stopping off in Corozal first. See you there!
Altun Ha and the Temple of the Masonry Altars
มุมมอง 310หลายเดือนก่อน
Today, I'm visiting Altun Ha, a Maya site in Belize about an hour's drive north of Belize City and 10km or so from the Caribbean coast. This is the site where the famous Jade Head, valued as high as 10 million dollars, was discovered. This was found by archaeologists in a tomb inside the Temple of the Masonry Altars. The site was occupied from about 900BCE to about 1000CE, so almost 2,000 years...
Leaving Punta Gorda; Arriving in Belize City
มุมมอง 111หลายเดือนก่อน
This is just a quick video following my route from Punta Gorda in the south of Belize to Belize City in the north. From Belize City I'll visit more of the Mayan ruins in that area, including Altun Ha and Lamanai. Stay tuned from more to come!
Walking in Punta Gorda, BZ
มุมมอง 880หลายเดือนก่อน
This is my last day in Punta Gorda, Belize. It has been my base of operations for the past few days as I visited the Maya sites in the area. So, I thought I would take a walk around the area and show you a bit of life on the ground here before I leave. It is a beautiful little town. I hope you enjoy the video. See you next time in Belize City.
The neglected Maya site of Uchben'kaj, Belize
มุมมอง 1432 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I'm on a day-trip from Punta Gorda to Uchben'kaj. This is an undeveloped site in the Maya Mountains of Toledo District, Belize, that doesn't get much attention. The site rose in importance around the time of the expansion of Tikal. Today, it is not often visited (unlike Xunantunich) but we like to move off the beaten path to see places like this. A local community group, Uch'ben'kaj Kin A...
The Place of the Fallen Stones: Lubaantun, Belize
มุมมอง 2.1K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'm visiting the site of Lubaantun. This is the same day that I visited Nim Li Punit, which you saw last episode. Lubaantun lives up to its name as the Place of the Fallen Stone as you'll see. Time and weather have not been kind to the stones here. Another factor in the poor state of the site may be the amount of in-filling the Maya builders did since they did not have a stable natural plateau ...
Nim Li Punit, Belize, the Big Hat
มุมมอง 1092 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is part one of a two part series where I visit two sites in one day: Nim Li Punit this time and next time Lubaantun. Both of these sites are fairly small. Neither has any particularly large buildings, however, the construction methods and materials are somewhat unusual for Maya architecture. This is my first excursion in southern Belize from my base in Punta Gorda. The name Nim Li Punit is...
Welcome to Punta Gorda. I guess.
มุมมอง 982 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'm back on the road today, travelling to Punta Gorda in southeastern Belize. From there, I will travel out to some of the Maya ruins in the area. My big problem right now, though, is I need to get a phone card so I have GPS access. As you will see, it's not so easy to find the phone company. One dude in Punta Gorda seemed to not like Guatemalans much. Oh well.
It's Party Time in San Ignacio, Belize, on my last day here

Bonito video, siempre con cuidado don. New sub.
The circular driving around the border paid off with that lovely sunset! Loved the maps! A stair free episode :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Incredible structure; is it Mayan?
Where's the masonry altar?
The structure is called the Temple of the Masonry Altars. There is one altar that I know of on the top of the pyramid (which you can see in the drone footage near the end of the video), but I am not sure where the plural (altars) comes from; possibly others were found during excavation of different phases of construction. It's a good question and I don't really know the answer. Perhaps some of our other viewers have that answer for you?

The history of the indigenous peoples in the Americas is much, much older than a few thousand years. The Hopi people tell that they arrived in the America’s about 30,000 years ago when the continent that they were living on, Lemuria, sank under water. They claim to be the ancestors of the Maya. We judge the Maya, Aztecs, Inca’s and others on the traces that we find. But when we dig our way from the present to the past, we must know that the Earth is suffering from a cycle of seven recurring natural disasters. That is told in the Popol Vuh. These disasters create a cycle of civilizations. There are four primitive civilizations, sometimes mentioned a sun or world era. The next civilization lives in the fifth sun. This becomes eventually a high developed civilization that disappeared 20,000 years ago due to the next recurring, thus predictable but inescapable disaster that is caused by the ninth planet in our solar system. That planet orbits our sun in an eccentric orbit hence it is only a short period close to our sun and its planets s it crosses the ecliptic planet at a very high speed. This high developed civilizations has built sturdy monuments all over the world like Chchén Itzá and they must have buried knowledge about themselves and the world history deep in the ground. High in the mountains they have built shelters or surviving places for a selected number of people. Like Machu Picchu in Peru. The Aztec sun stone is a warning for this event that is known as Quetzalcoatl, Tonatiuh, Xiuhcoatl or Nibiru in other regions. Much more details about this cycle of natural disasters and many images can be found in an e-book. "Planet 9 = Nibiru". Search: invisible nibiru 9
Hiii Mystic Moto !! we are impatiently waiting for the calkmul site ahahah Hello from France By italian Boy :D
Hi! Good to hear from you. I hope you have patience it's a bit of time before that comes. But it's coming!!!
Bump bump bumby ride, I'm still shaking from the ride in on my motorcycle.. Great video. Santa Elena here.
Crazy ride isn't it.
The fire station got a fire 😂 classic irony. Station was empty when the fire started, firefighters were out trying to find the phone company.
Hahaha 😂 you might be right!
great
Love those places. Thanks!
Glad you like them!
Their accomplishments, culture & wars are fascinating. Thanks
Well, I'm still learning myself, so stick with me and we'll learn more together.

Nice camera. Very crisp and clear 👌

Is he rebuilding a ruin or building something new?
He is building this from scratch for the last 30 years or so. It's a new monument.
Thanks for posting this video. This place is incredible.
I am happy you enjoyed it. Be sure to check out part 2 coming tomorrow!
Increíble que aún estén en pie esas construcciones. No cabe duda que fueron grandes arquitectos los mayas. Saludos Marco.
Mucha gracias por tus comentarios. Me querida Ana. Todo bien por aqui.
I was just there today! It would have been awesome to bump into you. I'm touring Belize on motorbike now and I love your videos!
