    Thank you for the information. I had DMX with DIEP reconstruction on 7/25. I had to keep the drain in my right breast for an extra week due to a bit of cellulitis. This breast was radiated 3 years ago. Once the drain finally came out, I quickly noticed some hardening down the side and across the bottom of the breast. The skin is so tight, my right breast is at least 2 inches higher than the left. It feels as if there is a thick rectangular pad just under the skin. I’m hoping I can figure out a way to resolve it.

      Hi Mrs Giggity, if you can find a therapist with lymphedema skills or breast cancer scar treatment skills- they will help you by assessing the area and giving you some special methods to reduce the stiffness. PS There are several methods. If you need any extra help, I can be available for an online assessment/consult- where you become my hands with clear instructions.

      Hello, radiation stiffness can be reduced by local gentle massage . Therapists across the work use a range of different massage methods. But radiation tends to result in stiffness returning- so needs to be an approach over each year.

    Do patients with active cancer have this cupping therapy or only once they have been cleared of cancer

    • @Breastandshoulder-rehab

      Hello, HI - good question: Cupping is a manual therapy for scar tissue and should not be used at the location of known active cancer tissue. I use cupping when all medical treatments are completed and use hands-on methods before this.

    I am a physical therapist of 27 years and treated similar patients over the years. In 2017 I was diagnosed with head and neck carcinoma and underwent lymph node removal followed by radiation and chemo for several months. The thing that most patients don’t understand is that the real issues with fibrosis don’t really begin until about 3 years post radiation. It’s imperative to start therapy as soon as possible after the initial healing from radiation (approx 4 weeks). This will help your neck and upper quarter range of motion long term. The therapy is lifelong. I would give anything to have someone work on my neck like in this video, but unfortunately I am too busy. God bless the patient and practitioner in this video!

      @Breastandshoulder-rehab 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your important comment> I agree- once initial treatment occurs within the first year following radiation, treatment may be needed yearly. The amount of surgical involvement and the amount of radiotherapy are factors that will influence individuals level of stiffness.

      The treatment is to have a scar and oncology trainedd therapist : assess your cording location and severity as there is such a variance. Especially between say 1 mm wide cording and cording that is 20 mm wide. There is general agreement that gentle stretch massage occurs at the cording insertion, which is at the chest wall, at the deep scar tissue. Arm stretch needs to babe gentle as over tensioning can cause more scar tissue through the strain. You would hope that 1mn cording can resolve as it can more readily pop away from the deep scar tissue . The wider cording needs to be massage released on a more regular basis - even in the years after.

    Good morning Maria! coincidently I happened to have a brief reading about how breast cancer forms and how it is well treated in TCM’s perspective. Unfortunately, there is tremendous suffering for ladies who have to go through a mastectomy.You have briefed how scar tissues come into being, with superficial fascia healing wrongly scar tissue forms resulting in tight and dysfunctional muscles. Massage is one of many solutions for scar tissue treatment besides cosmetic surgery technique/skin grafting, injections and injectables, dermatologic procedures, Grafton techniques and so on. Of course, exercise and client’s confidence make great difference for recovery. A good teacher takes every chance to help students review what’ve been taught. This is a good video going over all muscles related. Thanks a lot. Have a nice day! (Dimple’s Day 60 check in ----speaks only good, does only good, sees only good)

      Maybe an overstretch or an infection. Because of these two possibilities, one would expect that it will resolve quickly. If not you may need to nudge it along a bit ( if present after 10 days)

    My mother was able to overcome her colorectal cancer naturally without going under the knife, through the professional guidance of an African herbal practitioner. My mother had undergone a biopsy on March 7th, 2019 that revealed she was suffering from stage IV colon cancer after having experienced loss of appetite, loss of weight, diarrhea and vomiting. Although she's in her mid fifties, the symptoms had only started to occur at the critical stage of this condition. No member of my family has ever suffered from cancer. So after receiving the news of my mother's exposure to terminal colorectal cancer, the whole family was completely taken aback upon this discovery. The medical doctor had informed us that she had a relative 5-year survival rate of about 14%. But inwardly, I knew the year survival rate could be lesser than that, especially when the symptoms had grown more persistent and as the cancer in the colon was spreading to distant organs and tissues. A surgery was clearly detrimental at that period of time and as such, was totally out of the picture. For the betterment of her condition, I took it upon myself to carry out an extensive research in accordance with the nature of this disease and holistic remedies in overcoming it. Initially, I knew this possibility for a permanent remedy could be futile, but I had never wanted to take defeat as an option. It was during my relentless search for an everlasting remedy for this disease that I came across the talented works of one herbal expert, Dr. Harvey. I saw an article on the internet and I read of how Dr.Harvey cured a woman suffering from Breast cancer. I collected the doctor's contact details and I reached out to him asap. I told him of my mom's situation. To brief it up, he prepared some natural herbs and roots sent them to us. My mom made use of the herbs as directed by the doctor and in less than seven weeks, every symptom she was experiencing vanished. My mom is Cancer free today, and this made me realize truthfully that nothing is impossible.. If you're experiencing a similar situation, you must understand that it is very possible for you to get well without surgery... all naturally. You can contact Dr.Harvey through his direct contact details. WhatsApp : +1 475 522 1289 Email:drharveyphytotherapy07@gmail.com

    HOW I GOT CURED: Thanks for the Dermatology video most internal medicine guys are weak in Derm but, this stuff is really important. Skin cancer is no joke I got cut twice for premalignant cells on my left arm around 4 years ago. Yes the pathology biopsy came back nevus but, the dermatologist look at the histology printout and said it looked like premalignant cells. He recommended surgery and the first surgeon was wonderful but according to the pathologist she didn't get all of the premalignant cells so a second surgery was ordered and this surgeon was a butcher, she was terrible. Just goes to shows that all doctors are not created equal. What I found out later is the hospitals and doctors in Tampa Fl and the whole United State involved where playing political games and I never needed any of the surgery. At the same time a neurologist at the same hospital diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis (M.S). Which I didn't have and he wanted to start me on 6 shots of interferon a day immediately. Good thing I went to another hospital for a second opinion where that neurologist said I definitely did not have any signs of M.S. I also found out that these doctors work with corrupt lawyers to make money off insurance companies, pharmaceuticals etc... This is the reason I don't tolerate any corruption in medicine. My mom's doctor got 3 years in prison for fraudulently falsifying medical diagnosis's with a lab and treating people that didn't have those illnesses. I have worn long sleeve shirts and hat's ever since and the premalignant cells have never returned. This video could save some life's, very important. I decided to dedicate the rest of my life to studying natural herbal herbs which lead me with the contact of Dr Abiola who was able to cure me of this Skin Cancer. All human lives have value and should be treated like a reasonable person and everyone who want to be cured should be told the truth. Dr Abiola is a credit to the Herbs community as an outstanding educator and herbalist doctor. Contact him via: (drabiolaherbalsolutionhome@yahoo.com )

    • @Breastandshoulder-rehab
      @Breastandshoulder-rehab 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes Kristy Daniels, because most cancer care centres have focused on saving life treatments, luckily, but they have not invested resources into the one on one rehab care. Some have only just moved to group care ( eg exercise groups, information group sessions). Managing Iron Bra is not a group care service. Private practitioners (mostly) have taken up this area of care and we are trying to increase awareness and upskilling / training for health professionals. Use www.foundation96.com to find a local therapist or I am happy to offer a 15 min complimentary video session to help you find a therapist.

They're positioned just right so you get better leverage and they don't move - giving you more confidence. I am also an OT but I have MS and am quite wobbly on my feet. It was a bit tricky to fit my pedestal mounted arm rests but it was really worth the effort. Thank you.

    • @denisestewart7810
      @denisestewart7810 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Beverly McKinley-Dinofer thanks for your work in this area of care. MLD therapists are in the best place to assess and treat cording. Providing this much needed care means changes to our current care which mostly neglects painful and in some cases long lasting cording. Extra training is required and the training needs to be cost effective or sponsored by the breast cancer fund raising orgs. Extra time is required to provide this service, for example 1-5 initial treatment sessions. Extra money is required by the breast cancer survivor to pay for this service. How can we bring this service to more breast cancer survivors? I am working on the health professional training now with 2-day workshops. What are others doing?

    Hi I'm 3 weeks post mastectomy and axillary clearance. I had pain and tightness on inner side of my arm and now can see and feel a cord. Since I did exercises I can move my arm but stretching is very painful. Please help

    • @denisestewart7810
      @denisestewart7810 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chamani Punchihewa you are fully entitled to go back to your surgeon and ask for a referral to a breast cancer rehab therapist. Next step is to ask the therapist if they are trained to provide treatment other than stretch arm exercises for cording, as you need a special scar massage at the cord adhesion at your chest scar. The cord needs scar release and only very gentle arm stretch. With the right treatment it will become less painful and your arm will reach higher. The World Health .Org. states that rehab after cancer is important. I am not sure what country you are in but Cancer rehab is important. The USA health insurers want cancer rehab so they can reduce their costs. The USA cancer survivorship council believes that rehab for impairments is required. The problem is that breast surgeons have been extremely slow at understanding and referring people and Therapists are not all trained in this area of care. Hence you need to ask. If this does not work for you, please connect with me at my website or deniseot@bigpond.net.au and I can help with more resources for finding a trained therapist or you can arrange an online appointment with me, in Australia, and I will help you treat yourself, as this is possible with the right advice.

    I have the burning near the scar tissue as well. I had a left side mastectomy 4 weeks ago with a tissue expander placed under the muscle. I have been doing stretching and then it does get red around the incision line just like you said in another comment. So scar tissue must not be ready for all my stretching. How long should I give it a rest before trying again? It feels tight and I thought maybe some small cording in the armpit to chest so that’s why I was doing the stretching.

    • @denisestewart7810
      @denisestewart7810 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Danica- good question, using arm stretch is so gentle - just move to the first place of comfort as any push through at this early stage WILL cause micro tear and inflammation( red). If you can find a therapist with oncology and scar skills ( www.foundation96.com) then they can help with gentle skin, scar and adhesion stretches at the right place, which will give you the freedom of movement available to you. Happy to provide online consult ( book in at my website) for self-care if you can not find a local therapist.
