Hello sir. I did everything you said. I disconnected the battery but, code didn’t clear. Any other suggestions for me
Check out my john Deere 170 I need some ideas on gear ratio . @wickedthoughts10865
Thank you, you saved me a lot of money, you're great
Night Lovell 😎😎😎
Getting the same issue on the same truck however it's a p0651 code for throttle position sensor and both the EGR and MAP that you showed are brand new, any solution?
Clear code, drive in 7th gear on the freeway. Thank me later.
How does that work??
How does this work and what does it do?
Thank you !!! That worked out great !!
2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel 75,000Km Followed the video guide, i didn't remove anything to get at the sensor other than the engine cover. You do have to twist it a bit to get out from the well. Tried to reset the code with a battery disconnect and left it over night. However, i did have to get someone to clear the code with a scanner. Showed low turbo boost pressure on the code. Drove it home (30min) and the code hasn't returned. A new sensor is 160 from mopar and 200 from Napa for anyone wondering. Thank you.
Did you have looooong cranks before it started?
and have you gotten any codes because I'm getting a 2.0 soon and i definitely want it loud lol
You won’t get codes for striaght piping only downpipes bc of where the o2 sensors are placed.
what engine tune
What codes does it usually throw out when that message appears on the dash?
straight piped mine and blew my cat in a week😭😭
That's the map sensor not boost pressure and it gets messed up by the oil vapor from the crank case not egr, if you get a catch can it'll prevent that from clogging up.
After how many miles need to clean the sensor?
thanks so much just got this as my first car havent seen alot of mod opitons and things like this thanks so much would love to see how u mod ur 2.0 base
Gracias desde Chihuahua
i had that light on for a month and didn't bother to clean it. Now last week, my engine shut down completely. Is there any causation?
The light very well could’ve been a tell tale of something more seriously wrong… would be best to have the codes read on it, could be related, could be totally different reasons
What about no cat on it? They stole mine twice and I want to just straight pipe it?
Well I’d say just throw a straight piece of pipe in, a lot cheaper than a cat lol, it’ll be loud ahaha
Thanks!!! Saved me me at least a few hundred dollars and cleared the code immediately!
Always here to help out and share some knowledge! Glad I could help, good luck on your journeys! Cheers!
I get the "service electronic throttle control" message in my 2014 Ram 2500 every winter when I drive to Colorado. I'm not sure if it's triggered by the sub freezing temps or over 10,000' altitude. It goes away when i get back to normal temps/altitude. I'm going to attempt to clean the sensor, but does anyone else have any issues brought on by temp or alt?
Hi brother. Did you get your van fixed? I am having the same problem. I bought a 2014 promaster from Colorado and it's the same problem.
I was thinking of replacing the mass air flow sensor. But I don't want to be throwing parts at it.
Sounds MUCH better. Can actually hear the whistle now
Awesome build bro! I have a old yardpro pulley swapped with a 18 vanguard, I made a intake from a yz and put a 34vm mikuni on it, I only run it to 3\4 throttle, I have 7 or 8 lawn tractors sitting around, to many options
Catless?
No it wasn’t
Hi mate thanks for your detailed instructions on getting this sensor cleaned out. I have a P02E8 code on a Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel and wondering if doing this clean might help, although I don't have the service throttle light yet. I know the problem is on the throttle body butterfly flap position but cleaning all that hasn't helped. Wondering if you or anyone here has experienced/fixed it. Thinking of replacing the throttle body but the car just runs so fine except for this warning. Also noticed if I try to restart the engine right after turning it off, it would not start and continue to crank only. Wait for 20 seconds and try to start, starts normal. Even cold or subsequent warm starts are fine. Maybe EcoDiesels should not be started immediately after shutting down? Only mechanical feel to the issue other than the check engine light and code. No other codes present. Cleared code returns after a few ignition cycles. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated thank you :)
Could be related, could be something different, I know the intake gets suuuuper sooted up so maybe that could be related to your issue too! Hope you figure it out!
Any update, I’m having this same exact issue at the moment down to the t of what yours is
@@JordanVoss-q2m Nope been trying different things for about 5 months now. Starts a lot better now though so could be a few things I have tried. But the code comes on and clears every few days for a day or two before coming back.
Do you know if it’s the same location for a 2020 ram
Should be generally close to it, i haven’t been under the hood of a newer one yet, same style sensor I’m going to assume
Thanks, I’ll check it out
Great video. And thank you. Any video(s) on abs light after sensors have been replaced.
Abs light is still on after you replaced the sensor? Most times if the light is still on after you replaced the sensor could mean one of a few things… your wiring is bad on the truck side, or on the actual bearing itself there is a “tone wheel” that is a magnet and allows the sensor to read the speed, I’ve seen excessive rust build up and actually cause the tone wheel to flake off. Another issue may be the “air gap” between the sensor and where it mounts is too large meaning there is built up rust under where the sensor mounts.. hope this helps! Cheers!
Great video thanks for putting it up
Why don't they just make the grille included with the border so I don't have to cut at all? 😢
Hey man, had a question for you. If i get the egr and dpf delete and remove the DPF but keep the CAT and don’t install block plates - Will that cause me issues ? or will it be alright since the EGR/DPF is tuned out. Help a brother out please!
That’d be a good question for your tuner, but from what I’ve read you can leave it all attached but it still may thermal crack and possibly soot up due to the coolant and exhaust gases still running through it.. that being said I would say probably take it off but you can do whatever at your own risk haha. Just my 2 cents, cheers brother!
DON'T USE BRAKEKLEEN! use electronic parts cleaner......
I keep getting the "service electronic throttle control" with no CEL and no codes. Turn off the truck and clear the SETC error and it runs fine.
Did you delete your truck?
I found the issue. And yes it lost some parts in a weird boating accident. 😂. It was not the map sensor on my truck.
What is the part if you don't mind I'm having the same issue the only thing is it only happens when I use the pedal when I'm on cruise control It doesn't do it
is yours deleted? When you did the exhaust did you disconnect/remove ALL the sensors that got removed from the exhaust. As in the only thing down there are empty plugs with nothing connected? If there are still o2 or ANYTHING CONNECTED that are being used anymore completely disconnect them.
@@rwhipple73 well my truck also has had a bad boating accident and is falling apart. but I believe the only sensor is post turbo nox sensor
Thank you so for your info. This is the second time doing this. This is the first and last American truck I buy. I have a Nissan and a Lexus both have over 100,000 miles and no problems or Recalls. Do get me start. Good job my man.
I hear you, this truck has been the worst one I’ve owned by far, deleted now and it’s a bit better now that the engine can breathe but I’m waiting for the day it pukes… only a matter of time lol
Here in australia we call it the MAP sensor which is manifold absolute preasure sensor.
That's what we call here in the states. Not a boost pressure sensor
Can you still wash your truck through and automatic wash with that grill? @parrycustoms
Ya I wouldn’t see an issue doing that
I will try this tomorrow as mine did this early in the morning
Me and my friend straight piped his 2013 Jetta and made a side exit exhaust, it doesn't sound that bad in person.
Still barks
What size sprockets on clutch, jack shaft, and live axle?
I had my temp sensor crap out and it kept throwing this code. Cleaned the sensor with carb cleaner three times before figuring out the real issue.
Thank you😉👊🏻
Today, my 'Service Electronic Throttle control' message came on and the truck went into limp mode only very briefly, then ran normally the rest of the way home (over 40 miles). But the Lightening symbol and Check Service light are still on. What I need to do is figure out how to clear the lights and see if it happens again. I was hauling a very heavy load and was in Tow-Haul mode with the truck on cruise control (my bad!!) and started up a steep hill (59 mph). I think that triggered this. 158,000+ miles and it had never happened before. As soon as I canceled the cruise control the truck began to run normally the rest of the way home. I had no problem reaching 60 mph but I left the Tow-Haul and cruise modes off. How do I clear the messages and check engine light? Anyone know the answer to this? Thanks.
Takes a scan tool to clear them out, I’ve learnt that disconnecting the battery doesn’t work
@@ParryCustoms Yeah, I think you're probably right. I've tried the key-thing, the battery disconnect, neither worked. If I can get the lights cleared by a shop with the scanner and it comes back on I'll try cleaning this sensor like Parry shows us.
Did it give any codes
No it didn’t
Did it give any codes
Very nice explanation
You fixed my ride
Lmao It wasn't much of a struggle but still interesting thanks for the video
I don't recommend this . I did this to my ram 1500 ecodiesel and I got a check engine sing and a service electronic throttle light sing thay cam on my dashboard and now I can only drive 40mph .
You obviously missed something. There is no possible way doing this could trigger any codes
good video with well-defined information
What size is the bolt?
It’s a T-40 as I stated in the video, cheers!
