Tuve que oir dos veces la sonata para dar crédito a tanta belleza, impulso, técnica y maravilloso sonido... Y ese non allegro aún me hizo dudar si estaba despierto o soñaba!!! Mi gratitud a tan excelso pianista. L e admiro desde que oí su Schubert de juventud. Un fuera de serie son paliativos.

Best piano articulation of this work - the only one who gets it - most performances only feature a cellist with accompanist - Mendelssohn obviously had more in mind here - similar to Beethoven - they are equal partners and possibly 60 / 40 with the piano as the primary - this performance preserves Mendelssohn’s intention.

Tanto si interpreta a Medtner o a Scriabin y Rachmaninov como si toca Chopin, Eckardstein aporta su excelencia, visión y toque únicos. En mi opinión está entre los cinco mejores pianistas de la actualidad. Siempre en esa cumbre. Gracias por tanto esfuerzo y talento.

I love his playing so much that I feel guilty that Medtner does not do anything for me... Anyway suum cuique... But I long for the days of his concerts in Amsterdam with Rzewski and Messiaen, simply unforgettable!

Absolutely splendid! A fast approach that's never rushed, with a perfect balance between violence and tenderness. Herr Eckardstein truly understands Medtner from the very depths of his soul!

Excellent performance from the pianist ably accompanied by Jiri Starek. Good to have more versions of this rarely heard work

Such a nice and great pieces! I can't believe, that medtner himself underrapreciated these pieces, and said that they are jus improvisations! He had to be really humble...
