I agree it was probably best for Martin to leave after the Spurs game as the fans had turned. There are some winnable games coming up which he could have picked up points in. Villa and Brighton away, and Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool are games we wouldn't be expecting anything from. VAR definitely had an impact on it, should have had a penalty against Liverpool to make it 3-1. Difference game there. We played well in a lot of games, but those individual errors cost us massively, hard for Martin to affect those, the mistakes were basic errors, especially the McCarthy one against Newcastle. Would like to know how may times we started with the formation you showed too? Not too many games. Recently it went to more of a back 5, with a RWB, and then 2 CB's with KWP at LCB, and then Manning at LWB.

So glad to see Tanaka get a chance to show his capabilities in a league with a "global profile". Even in Germany he was not able to show what he is capable of. Ive always been impressed by players who understand positioning, in an instinctive way. I view Tanaka as a lot like Ryan Giggs - everyone could see he was an elite player but only the best coaches and teammates understood WHY he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, and how rare that positioning instinct is. Tanaka still has room to grow. Im sure he will be a key coontibutor when Leeds return to the Premiership, where they belong.

Embodies the leeds mantra of 'side before self' - nobody works harder on the pitch for leeds (?apart from dan james), but he constantly covers for the rest of the team; does not look for glory and is genuinely ecstatic when a team mate scores. Saying we had a poor goalkeeper last year shows how uninformed and biased your assessment is. Foderingham was one of our best 2 players in the Premier League (other was Robinson) making astonishing saves and commanding his box. He got Prem saved of the month once and nominated several times. I have watched United for 55 years and he is in my top 5 keepers ever to play for us. Your reference to him as a poor keeper really does show ignorance. If you were thinking of Grbic - who WILDER came in and stupidly signed to replace Wes, you'd make some sense. Cooper looks okay, but he is so rarely tested that you can't compare with Wes, who was constantly called on.
