Blades of Steel, Double Dragon 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario Bros, and TMNT 2 would be my list
Great list! I need to play Double Dragon 2. It’s made a lot of people list. Thanks for watching!
@@overwhelmed-gamer I think you'll enjoy it. A couple frustrating parts but a lot of fun. I barely see anyone talk about it. But that could just be that I'm not paying attention.
NOOOOOOO I HAD VOLLEYBALL PRACTICE AND MISSED IT 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Sorry Ocean. Be back Monday with more :)
Now it’s been the big three consoles which r Xbox PlayStation and Nintendo but back then it was more then those game consoles like Sega even Atari was in the gaming market at some point
I see Xbox going away in not too long as well. At least as far as their hardware goes.
It was really cool when it was just putting the game in and able to play it right away without dlc or long loading screen etc
Or having to download 3/4 of the game after buying physical media 😡
Hey man what’s up yeah many people has been playing the old school games nowdays
Yep. I love playing a combination of both, but my passion is definitely retro style.
What’s up
Hey what’s up Hickory. Playing more BOTW tonight :)
5. Super mario bros 4. Battlefrogs 3. Megaman 2 2. Super mario bros 3 1. Tetris
Can’t argue with that list. I have a personal vendetta against Tetris. Game that made me loose in the Nintendo championships in 1990 😡
Lol point & click
The genesis version of jurassic park has always looked fascinating to me but I have yet to play it. I grew up on the snes version and that's the one I have now
I hadn’t played this one until recently. Was also a SNES kid. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for including shining force :)
For sure! Loved that game. Thanks for watching.
Not sure how we got it, but I remember playing Dragon Warrior and loving it when I was a kid. Not sure if that was a joke but, they did make a KOTOR 2.
Dragon Warrior you could actually get free with a Nintendo Power sub. I realize there is a KOTOR 2 I guess I was referring to anything after that lol. Thanks for watching!
@@overwhelmed-gamer They went on to make the Mass Effect trilogy (we don't talk about Andromeda), which lacks the Star Wars license, but is otherwise everything as engaging as KotOR. There is a modern KotOR remaster in the works though!
@ is that remaster still in the works? I hope so would be so cool.
@@overwhelmed-gamer Agreed. A quick google shows it's still pretty shrouded in mysteries reeking of development hell, so I hope I didn't jinx it.
I might have to say DQ 3 or 4 is my first to completion, but it was FF4 I remember better. I know now I consider FF6 to be a better game though in almost all aspects, even though I thought FF4 was better when 6 came out.
I still need to play any other Dragon Warrior game. Looking forward to jumping into them at some point. Thanks for watching!
I know 1 and 2 are supposed to be getting 2dhd makes as 3 did. Guessing they might do 4 thru 5 also. Just if you do not have them.
@ yea I thought about grabbing the remake of 3. But the uber nerd in me would like to play the OG version on the NES. 🤷♂️
FF2 is also the game that introduced me to RPG's. i love that game.
@@tediz8280 yea, I’m not sure why I didn’t play any on the NES until recently. I have such fond memories of FF2. Thanks for watching!
If you enjoyed Sea of Stars, check out Chained Echoes. I thought SoS was good, but CE was outstanding IMO
Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion, and thanks for watching!
I second this ..
This guys gunna have a stroke when he plays CE 🎉
I owned this one as a kid so I can beat it no problem at all.
Quit bragging 🤣. I never owned this one until recently. Curious how I would have faired back the. Thanks for watching!
@overwhelmed-gamer I'll admit it used to be hard to me, but after so many years and hundreds of hours, I got really good, 👍 great video
@@7xvmpx7 thanks!
Two word. Cheat codes
😂 yea, I hear that. Thanks for watching!
YAY!
:) thanks Ocean!
@overwhelmed-gamer No problem! Also when are the days you go live I forgot 😆 🤣 😂
@ Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday :)
@@overwhelmed-gamer not me waiting for you to go live on wendsday
I beat all trilogy For me the ESB is the hardest
Seems to be ESB is the toughest of these. Will be playing that one next once it's my SNES turn for some gameplay :). Thanks for watching
I think all Codemasters games were like this. My Firehawk and MicroMachines carts both have it.
Yea, sure they are. Not sure I’ve played Micro Machines. Thanks for watching.
@@overwhelmed-gamer Micro Machines is pretty good. CodeMasters was pretty good once upon a time. They were the same company that designed the GameGenie, so they definitely knew their way around the NES.
@@wardrich Thats right! I didn't put the GameGenie thing together for some reason. Remember now that you mentioned it.
OOOOH I'm gonna find this one and play it!!!
It’s worth some playtime. So far so good. 👍
@ found it online last night. Gonna give it a whirl later
I'll keep an eye out for that one looks fun.
Wasn’t bad. I didn’t play it a lot but plan to go back to it. Thanks for watching!
HI!
This game is perfect 😢😢😢
I’m starting to agree with this. I’ve been having an absolute blast playing this. Thanks for watching!
Nice review! I loved this game and it gets pretty tough toward the end. FYI on the glitch at game over: "Press Start" is always in the top right, because that's for Player 2 to join in. :)
Thanks ec! Makes sense with the press start button lol. I plan on trying to get it to run on my arcade machine this weekend. :)
@@overwhelmed-gamer That reminds me to load this up on my MiSTer to play with my arcade deck too, in case my son wants to play some co-op with me. BTW, have you played Gold Guardian Gun Girl yet?
@ no I haven’t yet. Looking into it now before I forget 😂
Awesome list dude! Definitely love all these games! Super Mario 64 is one I go back to a whole lot! Shadows of the Empire is such a great game! I can't beat it without using that hard to input cheat code though lol. No mercy is awesome! My top 5 n64 games though are 5.Super Mario 64 4.Starfox 64 3.Turok 2 2.WCW/NWO Revenge 1.Goldeneye 007
Thanks!! I need to play Turok 2 yet. Also loved Starfox 64
Honestly I never played this as a kid. I didn't play until a couple of years ago when I got it on my ps4 and its definitely pretty challenging but thanks to save states I was able to beat it but I eventually want to get the snes cartridge and try playing it that way. Great video! Just subscribed to your channel
Thanks for the sub. I started playing it in cartridge form and moved over to use save states once I realized how hard it was going to get lol. Thanks for watching!
Super Star Wars was the easiest one of the trilogy
That’s what I keep hearing. Going to jump into empire soon. Which me luck 😂
The movie relied heavily on cg but was pretty cool. I have the Blu-ray
😳 there’s a movie? Another thing to add to my backlog 😂
Liked it as a kid but recalled it being difficult. I kinda wanna grab it nowadays..
From what I e played so far it seems really good. I still haven’t played it all the way through yet, but on my list to do so. Thanks for checking out the vid!
great video full support from me bro
Thanks much. I appreciate it!
Let me know if your into Homebrew games and suggestions on what else to play.
I love it but must confess to using the cheats occasionally. I could never understand why the Stormtroopers drop from the top of the screen? Why don’t they just come onto the screen normally like all the other enemies?
yea, I ended up using save states to get through this one. Maybe I could have done it with more practice, but my old age is making me less patient. lol
I hate the last level of Super Return of the Jedi.. It took me probably hundreds of tries to beat it.
I’m sure I’ll feel this pain soon enough 😂 thanks for watching!
Click bait. Not subscribing.
Yea I tried something and realized after it was too click bait ish. I’ve been thinking of at least changing the title? Thanks for checking it out anyway sorry for the baity stuff :(
@overwhelmed-gamer wow, thank you for acknowledging this. I'll keep watching your videos. Sorry for being so grumpy, it's just that there are a ton of click-baity videos on youtube already. Thanks!!!
@ no worries! I get it. I’m doing some TH-cam stuff tonight so I’ll add it to the list to change it up. Thanks again!
No, Super Empire Strikes Back is!!
Yea t hats the census. Once it’s my SNESs turn to play again that’s what I’m jumping into. Thanks for watching.
I have played this game in ‘93 without any save states (it was on the snes, so no memory card and this game didn’t have save codes). Every day it was just one try to find out how far i could go. Its a amazing game. I have finished this game a lot of times (brave difficulty) and its still my go to game if i really want to enjoy video games. Modern games have more possibilities but lacking soul. I wonder if this game will ever be remastered.
Love this! One of the big reasons I’m such a homebrew fan. Playing new games for legacy consoles with that same spirit. Thanks for watching.
love 😍
Thanks, Khoji
My friend Empire will end you 😅
That’s the rumor. I’ll be playing t It sooner rather than later. Probably next time I jump into a SNES game.
@overwhelmed-gamer All I have to say is thank god for the password system. May the force be with you... you're gonna need it 😅
@ 😂
Not remotely close to being the hardest SNES game. It’s arguably not the hardest game in the series. 12 year old me beat this game in a weekend. It’s challenging but doable with practice.
Yea that’s what I’m hearing from everyone lol. I need to play more SNES games. Back in the day I mostly played RPGs.
@I should mention that my comments are based on how it was back in the day. Sounds like you’re about my age so reflexes aren’t what they were. If I picked it up now I probably couldn’t get past level 1.
I think I only got though it because I loved starwars in 1992 I lost my temper with the death star boss ed 209 😄
Can totally see that happening lol. I’m finding even though I still love them I have less patience 😂
I've "no death'ed" this game before. Granted it was on Easy mode though lol. I tried my hardest not to die because I didn't want to lose the plasma blaster. If you lose the plasma, you might as well pack it in on certain stages like the escape from Mos Easley. I found the other two easier because of the double jump, and password system.
@@frankbizzoco1954 I’m sure I could have gotten there as a kid. I used to be able to no death run Ninja Gaiden back in the day, just don’t have the patience any longer lol. Thanks for watching!
This wasn’t that hard once you played it enough. Empire Strikes Back was the hardest for me, with Return of the Jedi being second hardest. Still love playing these games!
If I had a nickel for everyone that said this game wasn’t that hard I’d have like 50 cents. 😂 I’m kidding, but starting to feel like I need to get better at video games. Thanks for watching.
@ Hey no worries! I didn’t beat it in an afternoon. It took me many tries over weeks to finally get good enough. Glad you did get to enjoy it and hope you do get around to the other two games!
I never played the SNES game but I tried playing the PS4 version and it is hard.
@@BUPMY1 there is a PS4 version? Wasn’t aware. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for watching!
Subbed and liked! Cool list, it's not what I would have chosen, but this isn't my video! Love it!
@@michaelhamilton313 Awesome! Thanks for watching!!
@@overwhelmed-gamer You're welcome! Keep up the good work!
I keep hearing how tough this game was. It was a challenge, sure, and some of the platforming was frustrating, but I actually played through the entire game the first day I played it. I seem to remember the SESB game being a bit harder, but I finished that one as well. SROTJ was (in my opinion) the easiest game of the three, but that final escape from the Death Star is BRUTAL.
@@jeremytheloner thanks for watching! I’m getting a lot of comment along the same lines. Think I might jump into Empire sooner rather than later and take a lot of this advice with me :)
if you take your time they are not actually that hard nearly every enemy drops life refills so yo9u can pretty mush just creep through the level, the only one i never finished on sith difficulty was ROTJ but that was just because of the time limit to escape the deathstar final level
Thanks for the advice. I’ll keep that in mind when I go after Empire and Jedi. Thanks for watching.
enjoyed
Thank you!
“Brutally difficult “? Cmon man😂
Maybe I’m just old now 😂 I do find retro gaming to be more difficult now than I did back in the day. Perhaps it’s a patience thing 🤷♂️
ESB and ROTJ are much more difficult. ANH is the easiest of the 3 hands down
That’s what everyone is saying. Looking forward (or not) to both lol. Thanks for watching.
@@overwhelmed-gamer brace yourself then :) ! I still play these games to this day, i have an original console and a 27inch Sony cathodic TV. I can beat ANH (not easily but its doable) But ESB ? Get ready for mental pain, this game is brutal. Sincerely, you can at least get one cheat on for all 3 games, and its the (keep current weapon cheat) so at least if you die, you restart with the strongest weapon. Otherwise all 3 games are not even fun to play by todays standard unless you like suffering :) Good luck !
@@longann7560 Agreed, I think the loosing your weapon is what made the game so hard. If I was able to keep that I feel like it would have been a much easier time.
So it wasn't just us, then? Me and some chums played this on an old SNES in the mid 00s and thought it was ridiculous.
Definitely not just you lol. Thanks for watching!
