Wait is it normal for them to have a bump next to the fin it’s kinda concerning I have a betta that has the exact same bump as yours

Honestly, I know nothing about Blackwater aquariums, or any of the fish you'd wanna put in one, but I found this video really neat, so, thank you!

FYI - Just incase people was wondering many years on, this Betta came from a community tank and had been with multiple fish/shrimp for a couple of years with with no issues. As you can see in later videos over the years the fish only became aggressive when it got ill. Be aware the temperment of these fish can change, some can live in community tanks but some are a big NO NO. Also (lessons learnt the hard way over the years) tetra's tend to nip fins of Betta fish so best not to keep them together.

There is nearly no water flow, no oxygen ..... and isn't this tank too small for a clown fish, let alone 2? Maybe that is the reason they became aggressive and killed the other fish? You did not do your homework! And for God's sake, don't put more fish in this tiny tank.

You cant feed zoas food that size. They rather reef zoo plankton. All that mysis is going to end up in your water column. Feed that to LPS with bigger mouths.

Would you recommend this or the nicrew c10? The controller seems better on the c10 would you say?

It would have been interesting g to know after an hour or so how much lower the aquarium temperature became vs before it was turned on .

Don’t boil the leaves and kill all the micro fauna. That’s exactly the thing you want to introduce. It’s part of the breakdown cycle in the tank. Nature doesn’t preboil leaves on their way down to a stream bed. Great content though. And I love the tank you had behind you during this. Looks beautiful

Hello James , I have been checking these heaters for a while and it is a great idea to have the ability to control the temperature settings outside of the aquarium and hopefully you have a good experience with this XXL ultra non-compact offering from the Hygger Company and I have decided that I will be buying myself a few for my two displays since I have a feeling that the only way to feel safe with heating my aquariums is using a separate control like the Inkbird system!!! Great review , and hopefully the good only gets better 🏖️I can just buy a heater for my Betta named Peter who has been under the weather so they said this is better than making poor Peter wear a sweater 😅

It actually reduces 3 to 4 degrees of heat... normally 2 degrees with 2 head fan for 10 gallon

is your water soft or do you just have tannins in the water? I add oak leaf tannins to my tanks relatively frequently like adding tea. Ive always had a hard time maintaining true soft water due to the hardness of municipal water around me.

Love tannin filled tanks . Will the organic material lower my ph ? Its currently 7.6 and i eant it down too 6.6 or 6.8 . I keep Apistos that im trying too breed. Thank you.

This video is making me feel a lot better about buying it, yea it might be a pain to turn off over and over but thats really it right? I have my own diffuser getting delivered tomorrow as well so ill probably use that instead of the kits. Did you tape anything at all or no?

My tap water is quite hard... probably better described as concrete 😂 I've got into Blackwater aquariums now: I've created a new one and converted another one... They both look lovely (as do the fish - X-ray tetra and Snakeskin barbs definitely look better in that tinted water) and I have not seen any real measurable difference in my pH values yet. I will be interested to see if there are any larger changes, should the water actually soften because of the large amounts of botanicals and wood..?

I saw a video where someone put a loud high frequency signal through an underwater audio tweeter to kill mosquito larvae. I wouldn't use these in a tank where you expect fish and other creatures to live. This would be like a human in a swimming pool with thousands of small bombs exploding every minute for weeks or months on end.

This thing is complete bullshit. It's supposed to cycle but if you get up at night it'll be on, guaranteed. Stressed some of my fish to death... Don't buy this crap.

Are stinging nettles safe even after being near fertiliser

Do you belive this would have happened with distilled water? I am looking to use one in a humidifier and trickle mist over my plants on a water feature in my living room.

I have one and hate it. Setting 4 color levels and brightness for every hour guessing at the level or counting the clicks is ridiculous. Stay away from this thing.
